Wire Ampacity Free

This is the lite version of the app for the user to preview before purchasing the pro version.
This app will calculate the minimum wire or max amps based on the inputted ampacity for low voltage wire. The calculations are base on the 2008, 2011 and 2014 National Electric Code (NEC).

Note: The app is called Wire Ampacity and not Circuit Ampacity. This app does not specify the size of an over-current device, simply the AMPACITY of the wire (i.e. #14 75 degree wire has an ampacity of 20A, but should not be used with a 20A breaker).

My temperature correction choice was accidently changed from Celsius to Fahrenheit and that gave me embarrassing results.

16gauge for 15amp .... see why you have such a disclaimer

#14 should not be used for a 20 amp circuit. First calculation I performed gave me a bad result. What else is wrong?

You guys complaining about the 14awg wire rating should read the NEC, #14 IS good for 20 amps just as 12 is good for 30 (excluding insulation type differences in this example). The problem is that the NEC only allows it to be placed on a 15amp breaker and 12 on a 20amp. So technically the app is correct, the dev would be wrong if he stated otherwise. Just throwing it out there...
