Update! Seems that this 2022 update has fixed the problems plaguing this app for the last few years. Now accesses my SD card on Galaxy Note 20. Previously: Like so many other users, I'm frustrated that the app crashes when I try to access my new phone's music.

05/22 update. Finally an update and it works again! I can now play music stored on my Galaxy S20. It's now working perfectly for me. Only 3 stars though because we all had to wait far too long for this update.

Finally an update but tunein for some stations still doesn't work (cannot play back)! I was hoping this update fixed this issue

This app is so bad it makes what could be great speakers completely useless. It just doesn't work with music streaming services like Spotify or Apple music, you also can't watch anything on YouTube etc either. The speakers are OK via Bluetooth but then you can only use one speaker at a time so no multiroom, stereo or surround sound setup. The speakers are expensive bits of kit, this app makes them impossible to use.

Utter waste of time... Using this poxy app, I've just had the pleasure of spending hours trying different setup methods getting my K950 soundbar to connect to my WiFi. Success at last but the app keeps crashing now so no longer has functionality beyond updating the firmware. But oh, of course Samsung did the absolute minimum and never thought to upgrade this expensive device to give it basic DTS functionality like supporting MA and DTS-X. No care about me so no more money from me Samsung!

Vintage success! I have been struggling with multiroom for months. I came back to reload it as part of my troubleshooting only to find it no longer supported - astonishing. Flash of inspiration. My old Galaxy Tab S tablet won't update beyond Android 8. Loaded - I now have a functioning system once again! Why don't Samsung release the code if they aren't going to maintain it? Someone on github would breeze through updating it.

Works normally (as it should), now that I figured out what was up. My tablet's running VPN app was the culprit. Caused my speakers and sound bar to disappear immediately from Multiroom app's device detection whenever I tried to pair/connect to wifi. Turning my VPN app off 'before' I use this app was the solution. My only question Samsung, is why hasn't anyone tried to rectify or even given an explanation for losing access to A LOT of good local radio stations on the Tunein app that once worked?

It's amazingly bad. I have a Samsung S10 phone, Samsung speakers and a Samsung TV and soundbar. The app crashes often, it comes up with the "no speakers found" all the time, the volume control jumps all over the place on it's own. Generally, I'm trying to run three speakers on it. The soundbar drops in and out on it's own, the other two mostly work. Overall, I would say to avoid a Samsung setup. I actually wish I didn't like their phones (I've had several over the years).

This app breaks every time Android is upgraded to a new version and doesn't get updated quickly enough to be of any use except for brief and infrequent periods of time. Also, it really doesn't do anything the remote can't do, except maybe a little easier. Although, the remote is garbage and started falling apart within the first 2 years with careful use, so 🤷‍♂️.

I have suffered, grumbled, cursed, and allegedly thrown things all due to this app. It's just the worst. And a sad thing is I love the speakers! They sound fantastic and in a world where karma was balanced, they would have an app that allows them to play music in a fantastic way. Instead, the app quits repeatedly for no reason, loses all of my stations and playlists, and is designed in an entirely illogical way, and a horrible UX. I'm a fan of many Samsung products, but this one is a nightmare.

App interface is good, but the app constantly crashes and comes up with a "no speakers found" error that requires it to be closed and restarted. This typically happens ever few minutes and is very frustrating. I wouldn't use it if it weren't the only way to use my Samsung speakers through wifi. Recently developed a bug that states "no internet" and will not play music, despite there being no connection issues. Infuriating.

Perhaps it isn't the app's fault, perhaps it is the hardware. But I shouldn't have to set up the surround with the Samsung soundbar and the two rear Samsung speakers, EVERY DAY! You'd think you could set the multi-speaker config and that would be it. But no. Tried multiple Samsung devices running the app and tried two different WiFi APs. Still the same. Avoid. Great when it works though I suppose. But still...

Jav. A. Dec 24, 2019

Definitely a failure from Samsung. When you want to use several speakers with WiFi connection simply doesn't work... the group disappear while watching TV and when you manually create it again it will fail again after a while... so completely useless for multispeakers application. I tried everything and Samsung didn't find a solution for it after these items have been for years in the market. Unbelievable.

This app no longer works on my pixel XL. It's worked fine for the last 2 years, but I'm not sure why it's no longer works. Every time I fire the app up it crashes immediately, over and over. I'm running Android 10. I restarted my phone, uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Nothing seems to resolve this issue. Please advise asap. UPDATE 02292020: changing from ⭐⭐ to 3 as the long awaited update (2 months or more?) finally resolved the issue with the app crashing and not running at all! Thanks

App is garbage! Please just remove it from the PlayStore if it is never going to be useable. It has never worked right. Connections constantly lost, sound quality horrible in surround mode in addition to volumes so low in surround why even bother. What a waste of time you have inflicted on every person who has ever tried this app. If we could all have back the time spent trying to get this thing to work we all would be better off. Samsung doesn't care, they got their money from us on hardware.

This app is meant to connect Samsung wireless speakers. I got it to connect a Samsung 850 atmos soundbar to their R1 wireless speakers as the rear speakers in my home theater. This is supposed to work but it's the buggyest thing I've ever tried to use. It worked for a moment as a stereo system. It never got the surround sound working . And then it didn't behave the same way twice. The app is user unfriendly and the product is horrible. I spent hours trying to make it work. It's all going back. Shame on you Samsung for making us deal with an underbaked product and ecosystem!

Lit. L. Jul 12, 2020

Absolute garbage. Downloaded it yesterday and when it worked it was ok. I won't say great as it's a bit messy. But it was ok. Today it can no longer find my speakers even though they're on the same wifi channel as this app. Terrible. How can Samsung read these reviews and not sort it out. It's like they're treating this app as an optional extra. If it works it works, if it doesn't so what. UPDATE: it's also stopped the TV remote from controlling the volume as well. I seriously wouldn't bother.

This is just a horribly designed app with frequent crashes, often dysfunctional speaker networking, and not quite user friendly. The speaker quality is terrific. However, I find the speaker grouping to be unnecessarily cumbersome, interfaces with streaming services (pandora, tune.in, etc.) faulty, and even something as simple as shutting it off to be a multistage function.

Zac. H. Dec 19, 2019

We've been using our Samsung speakers for a few years now and have REALLY enjoyed them. However, since October, the app has not been loading fully which is preventing us from playing music through the speakers- beyond disappointed the app has not been fixed and dosen't appear to have any intention on being fixed. Based on articles I've read, this is due to a recent Android update.... what a shame Samsung. Apple next?

Lau. R. Dec 29, 2018

This app worked perfectly with my samsung speaker for about a year. Then randomly it stopped connecting to pandora, Amazon music, or any of the other programs. So now I just can't use the speaker anymore because there isn't a spot to manually plug in an aux cord! Such bs and very disappointing that so many people have problems and samsung still can't fix the app.

Ell. S. Jul 31, 2020

Love the concept and look of the Samsung multiroom speakers but the app is terrible. I have to close down and re-open the app every time I want to use it, even if I used it 30 seconds ago. It often can't find the speakers, despite my router showing good network signal to them. Fantastic when it all works as it should but Samsung need to clean up these bugs. Adding in Google/Alexa voice control would make it awesome.

Jer. F. Jul 24, 2020

Still working for me. Running on an S10, Note 10, and an old Galaxy View. I use Amazon Music, iHeart Radio, and the good old collection of MP3s. Speakers are 2xR1, 2xR3, and a 6500 sound bar. I did notice a considerable improvement in system stability when I upgraded to a MIMO router. Still have the occasional issue with speaker grouping(s). Let's hope this update is a sign of life from Samsung, these speakers were NOT cheap. Some FLAC or similar HiDef support would be great.

Yan. H. Dec 29, 2019

Doesn't work with Android 10. Usual Samsung rubbish, they can't be bothered to update it so it crashes as soon as it opens. Their hardware is pretty good but the ongoing software support either via firmware or software is terrible and this is a case in point. Can't use their new Smart things app as my 2 year old soundbar isn't listed - another example of their superb customer service and support. Won't be buying anything they make again.

Good most of the time The app & speakers work well to stream music from a variety of sources, and sound good too. I find that network connection is troublesome. The speakers expect to have very strong wifi (at least 2 of the 4 wifi bars on my phone). That can be challenging to do across the whole house. It seems that an even stronger signal is needed to group speakers - My group is often missing a member when I want to use it, although I can stream music to the speaker not in the group.

Ton. S. Oct 29, 2021

This app is not good in several ways. Firstly, it is slow to start and slow to navigate. Secondly, the integration of the music services (eg Deezer, TuneIn) is terrible. The functionality offered is a small part of that offered by the music services themselves and many parts of the integration do not work. Thirdly, the multi-room funtionality doesn't really exist. I can pair devices sometimes, but it isn't easy or quick. I also cannot pass music from one speaker to another as I move around the house, so I have to stop one speaker and start another, connecting the music source from scratch. To be honest, for me, the only reason to have a multi-room system is to be able to easily join speakers or keep the music going as you move around. Regrettably, this app does neither. The speakers sound great but , without a decent app, they are just expensive bluetooth speakers.

Now app keeps crashing on Android - unusable... Tidal streaming seems to take a long time to load and often unreliable, complaining of "unable to load" where the Internet connection is about 100 Mb/s and quite stable otherwise. The tidal app doesn't support time point selection in playback, either, which is somewhat inconvenient... otherwise seems pretty good. Finds the speaker reliably.

1 star is to many. What a pile of rubbish this app is. The same problem again 10 months later. You phone support and they can't fix it. Having had 3 wireless Samsung speakers controlled through the app using Samsung phones and pad for about 3 years. Now they have stopped working unable to access music through Deezer. Think Samsung should compensate us all. We've bought their speakers to work with the app yet they can't get it to work the way they advertised it

And. U. Feb 18, 2019

This app worked beautifully up until a week ago. I was using the Amazon Music streaming service that was playing on my soundbar and all of a sudden it cut out. I went back to the app, and now the streaming services at the top won't load. I uninstalled, cleared any files that the app might have left behind, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, but the streaming services still won't load. Kind of disappointing. Update: Changed rating to 1 star. Nothing has been done to resolve this issue.
