This would be just what I was looking for if you could just press play and it would keep on going. Rhapsody never stops, spotify keeps looking for a connection. I know that this can be written into and app. Also once it gets going it needs to stop when stop is pressed not keep on playing everything buffered.
It worked great for months and now will not play while on wifi at the office and at home. I'm a faithful listener but the app that was my mainstay no longer works. I've txt'd WITF about the issue and never heard back. As soon as it's working I will be very happy to download and start using their app again.
Audio randomly stops without cause. The NPR app does the same thing, so there may be a correlation. Otherwise, a decent app.
The audio buffers before the sound starts. If you have a slow connection, it will take longer. Give it a chance. Android 4.4.2.
Runs in the background after you stop the app. Very annoying. I know how to start up the app. I don't need a stupid task running all the time that tells me to "Just click here" to start it up again.
I used it every morning, but now it has constant lags and just stops working.
Even on my home wifi connection with plenty of bandwidth, the app buffers much more than it actually plays. This renders the app basically useless, I'm sorry to say.
Older versions seemed to work ok, but this one stops playing after 8 minutes. This occurs on both my phone and tablet (Android 7.1.1)
Used to work. Now just says buffering and never gets there. I want my news.
The app makes accessing the programming easy. No matter where I am in the country, I have access to my member station.
The audio takes forever to stop buffering and play, if it plays at all! I rely on WITF as a source of information but this app needs to work! Please fix it.
Plays for 2 or 3 seconds and then stops. I rely on this app when weather knocks the 93.3 transmitter out (which is often). It used to work fine.
stopped working. uninstalled and then reinstalled, but still does not work.
It takes too long to buffer and it continually shuts off. I love NPR but I'm tired of this app.
The volume is too soft, audio occasionally drops out, and the app design hasn't been updated since Gingerbread. But it works.
Simple. Effective. News.
Although, once the audio buffers, the app works adequately. The app can NOT be run in the background while buffering & it can take 3min before the audio begins. I use TALK STREAM LIVE daily. TSL buffers within 30-45sec & in the background, so I know better performance is possible. The app gets "0" stars; NPR can claim the one star that the PLAY store requires when leaving a review. (Last thought: the developers can take solace in knowing their app is slightly better than nothing.)
