the camera connects fine, but then when i go to view the feed it gets stuck on loading almost all the time. unplugging and replugging the camera fixes this for a bit, but eventually it goes back to not working. even when it does work, its hit or miss, having to restart the app frequently. it also resets settings constantly, reactivating sensors that i had disabled and changing their levels. edit: the link they provided in their reply to my review only takes me to their website with no help
The camera itself has good HW, works well. The companion app can be much improved: most of the time there is lag, even if the phone is on the same wifi; if the activity period is longer, over 1h, the video no longer loads; you colud get some daily report of events, history etc, the info is there anyway, why not use it; you could set up schedules when the camera is active, so that you don't manually have to turn.it on/off; integration with automation services missing: IFTTT, Google, Alexa etc;
it's always been a really aweful app, and after a few years, it's still aweful. most of the time the live feed doesn't work and the historical clips frequently don't load. I haven't used any other smart camera apps, but I can't believe the Nest app is worse than this. Save your money (edit: i should add that I've contacted customer support numerous times and they can't fix it)
Just unreliable - it should not have such difficulty maintaining a network connection in this day and age. I read somewhere that there was a issue with it working on dual band WiFi ie pretty much every home WiFi setup now. Please update the software some time in the next 6 months at least.
Well, not impressed so far. I have noticed that the app for Android is much different than the IOS users. Where's my "Autopilot" option? Where's the "Air quality" tab? The hardware works pretty well but this is an incompetent software. Not much I can do if I keep using this. Returning it unfortunately. What a let down!
My Nokia Home Cam used to work great...but for the past few weeks there is no picture or sounds...it just keeps saying "loading" on the app when I want to see the live stream. Nothing has changed with my internet either....so frustrating. Edit: so I uninstalled the app, re installed it and now it says oops there seems to be a connectivity issue...GUYS...I think its yourls server....please sort the issue out...we are all having the same problem!
I purchased NOKIA HOME camera in Jul'18 and writing this in Oct- considerable time to test the product. Design looks very nice but I cannot say the list of pros extends beyond it. There is not enough angle adjustment to position the camera to look down at a baby in a cot and no tripod mount thread. I use a FIRE tablet Amazon, on a OnePlus3 and on a Samsung A5 (2015). On all devices, the video keeps glitching, freezing or not loading until I restart the app. Stills from hours ago are shown instead of the current view (ie. the app shows for a few seconds that there is no baby in the cot!) The speaker function also has a huge problem: every piece of music or sound available to play for the baby is a short length (ie. 1 minute) and plays on a loop. This would not be bad at all but every time the loop restarts there is a 2-3 second pause which creates a drastic change in sound that wakes the baby up. This is not soothing or helping the baby and is very frustrating for the parents too. I have sent a support request from the app without any response for a week!
Junk! Have tried to use since 2018 snd it's still one of the most over-priced, low feature camera products on the market. Zoom and auto-enhance are rubbish. Help files, are no help. What the heck is "Home offline"? Every single time I'm away and use this useless app I get a message saying the camera cannot connect to the network. Live feed never works. Have tried wi-fi and ethernet but always the same problem. Have contacted support several times and not once had a solution or complete reply.
Don't setup using Android! Using iOS to set it up is much smooth and after that you can use either Android or iOS device to connect it. The camera needed to be reset about every 6 months... no idea why it happens. Also, the app runs much slower on Android devices.
Connecting all the time and does not connect in the end. Complately useless. Waste of money and a lot of nerves. On Android phone it will not work at all. Garbage. I guess the worst camera that I have seen in my life!!! Jesus... of there would be an option to put 0 or minus stars - it would be worth minus one billion!!!
For as expensive these cameras were when we purchased them, I expected to at least be able to connect to them when outside of the home. The app crashes every time it is opened. The camera loses connection every day. We have had customer support attempt to help us in the past but never had a resolution. They need a serious app and firmware update!
Issues on connectivity every time. Through mobile LTE can't connect despite the fact at home camera running under fiber Network through WiFi with distance shorter than 3 meters direct to router (no walls, obstacles etc). When in need never had the opportunity to whath home... so unpleasant in contrary of the very well done job in health sector. Disappointed for the support of this look like great hardware product
The video just never loads, I get notifications but when I open the app it just says loading. If I can manage to watch a notification later, it just judders and you can't hear the sound. Completely useless, DO NOT BUY if using an android phone. I want my money back.
I've been unable to set up the camera for over a month. The app doesnt work. It'll either just quit while trying to connect to the camera or after I input the wifi password. It just disconnects and makes me start over.
Hardware seems brilliant but the software leaves me speechless. In a bad way. I'm returning the product because of the horrible mobile application. Also disappointing that only timelapse but no video can be recorded without buying a cloud service subscription.
It works on&off. Lately we have had nothing but issues. We do not receive any notifications, nor hear any sound... While clearly there has been a lot of noise. (Howling and barking dog.)
I've had this camera for about 6 months. The camera is awesome, HOWEVER viewing video is nearly impossible on my Android phone. It always says camera is offline. I turn off Wifi to refresh the camera and all it does is load. I also have the app on my Ipad, it works amazing on my Ipad. Can we not get the same quality on 2 different platforms? Looking for a different home security camera
"Oops. There seems to be a connectivity problem. Please try again later" Over and over, Doesn't matter if you use wifi, cable or cellular, only worked properly (past tense) on one device (nokia 3.1) which had been setup about a year ago, the app wont work on my other devices and simply is rubbish. in my experience performing worse over time. Cannot recommend this product for the high prices these devices cost, especially with a disfunctional app.
