Withlocals Local Travel Guide

Came to Barcelona and booked two different people on different days and they both canceled. One person cancelled 15hrs before we were supposed to meet. Don't waste your time with this app. Stick to Trip Advisor, they don't cancel.

Despite reinstalling repeatedly the app will not show my bookings and they keep sending texts to check the app. No way to contact anyone in the app.

It just has an annoying bug that when I use it on my phone (Samsung S21) the search bar gets covered with the 'with locals' logo while I write the name of the city I search. So I can't see what I'm writing. Otherwise I like the concept.

Great concept but can't search places before I get there. Other than a few top destinations listed I can't search for a specific city to try to arrange a tour before I get there. Some people don't want to wait until we get somewhere to wing it.

Amazing app. Convenient way of booking tour with different guide of your choice! Highly recommend!

Warning! Be very careful with this app. I looked into withlocals , and saw the price was $60 on with locals as a private tour. Turns out i paid $60 up front, then have to pay another $140 or so in cash to the driver. Basically $200 for a private car compared to $30 on a bus tour.. I also did not realise this site was in pounds, then trying to cancel 30 min later, nope, and , no phone support. Now i don't even know if there are going to try charge the full amount too??? Potentially fleeced $200+

Great Concept and App is pretty well setup and nice interface. If it is available in the area you are traveling too. I have done 2 tours now and have been pleased with both of them. It is a private tour, so it nice to have a personal touch by the guides. It is definitely worth trying out.

Easy to use this app to book tours, choose a guide and make payment. All your booking information is available including contact details for your guide. I did try to send a message to the guide via the app but they never replied and then ended up sending me a message via WhatsApp instead, I'm not sure if they saw my original message. Overall a great experience.

Good app for finding quality tour guides (host) in visiting countries. I would have rated app higher if it provided currency conversion. It does not take much coding to provide this most valuable features. I almost cancelled my recent tour because I was surprised when the host told me the cost in his native country.

great app. now I'm seeing all my bookings and messages with lot of time to spare..very convenient. I like that you can navigate all the stuff. What s happening however. If someone books on the same day it doesnt immediately show up.

I had a frustrating booking experience and when I tried sending some feedback via the app it was impossible as you're obliged to select the subject which is fine except that the drop-down menu doesn't stay up, so you can't select and end up unable to contact them ...

Best app for my trips, 100% great I don't think about anything to do when I'm traveling, I just looked to what the app is offering and go for it, the best pat is that I know already whom I going to book as a person , so I feel so comfortable. Makes my life very easy. Highly recommend.....

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT. Pretty awful really. Every tour is way overpriced compared to other tours. It looks a lot like the Airbnb app, which is an immediate warning sign, and from reading the reviews, I can see they have similar business practices and the same lack of ethics. Give it a very wide berth. I've deleted it already.

This app makes it extremely easy to communicate with your travel guide overseas without making an overseas phone calls. Much easier than email too.

Very clean and easy to use app. Makes booking tours and communicating with guides very simple and easy. If you're booking tours via Withlocals, you need this app.

Meeting new people is fantastic! As a Cape Town tourist guide, this app gets you to see what you really want! Choosing your guide is much better than going on tour with a boring guy you didn't even choose, just saying.

Easy to use. Not all major tourist areas covered. But the many major ones are. The overall communication d process is very easy.

Excellent application. It allows me to check tours that I have not seen being offered on other sites or travel agencies. Definitely would recommend it!!

I am hooked on Withlocals for finding unique tours! We used them very successfully in Paris and have scheduled four more tours for our upcoming visit to Portugal. The app makes it so easy to find and book tours, make payment, and contact the tour guide. Thank you Withlocals!

Terrible tour excursion in Naples. Tour guide never showed up. Wasted 4 hours getting to tour meet up, waiting for guide, waiting for tour company to tell me guide took day off and return cruise ship. Tour company did not: call me ahead to notify us of cancellation, did not have back up plan, did not know guide took day off, did not offer alternative tour, was extremely rude and offered no compensation. Would never book with again. Extremely unprofessional.

good app for value for the money would like an option to mark fav tours for future reference, shortlist. also the banner (choose your guide) comes on top of the tour title so you can't read it when scrolling list of tours.

What a fantastic idea. Getting to know a new city in the company of a local is a great way to start a trip. We had a Tapas tour of Barcelona and can't recommend it highly enough. Will definitely use on our travels again.

Many bugs in the app. I cant select the destination as I want. The form to fill in order to become a host doesnt work. User experience 0.

Went to Italy in June 2019. Had the best tours using WithLocals! The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and considerate.

The first thing I did was search for my own country and to my dismay, I found alot of the tours are overpriced, like seriously $200+ for a few hours of walking/food tour? Hell, I do all these for free for my guests I host on couch surfing, I can't help but feel people are getting ripped off going on these personalized tours.....

We've used With Locals in several cities around the world...all exceptional experiences except one which we reported an got an immediate apology and full refund. A great concept!

This app is brilliant - you or your group get a private tour with a local guide. No more bus trips following a massive herd of people around :)
