This app is complete garbage. Everytime I open the app it makes me watch an ad. After that ad it then plays a second audio ad and only then will it start playing the broadcast. But only if you're lucky. Most of the time it doesn't play the live broadcast it starts playing a previously recorded broadcast and when you try to get the live broadcast it makes you go through all the ads again. And the stream just stops for no reason 10-15 times a show. And each time, yep...ads again. Horrible app
Please fix this app. Why does it stop playing the live stream when I adjust the volume? It is so annoying to have to stop and open the app to restart it after I turn the volume up or down. Also the live player doesn't load the live stream when first opened. I have to tap on a podcast or the weather and then go back to the live stream to get it to play. Very annoying. Please fix.
Embarassing. This app does not exit even after requesting it to. You have to hard kill the app. As a result it seemingly randomly turns on and whatever is on the air starts shouting.(Imagine being in an elevator, checking your notifications and having WMAL start up broadcasting an ad for divorce lawyers.) Don't install this app. Use iheart radio or something else.
As others have said, this recent update is failing those of us who love your shows. AM/FM reception is challenging in my area. It was so nice to have clear listening via the app -- until this update. Looking for other ways, as this is no longer useable.
This app is dangerous. Need to hunt for the X, that is usually in a different spot everytime, in order to click out of adds while im driving. Taking your eyes off the road for that is rediculous. Then a nice 13 minute update that i have no choice over.
Great for listening when you cant use the radio however its damn near impossible to turn the app off it'll constantly turn itself back on and then ads from this app will appear while using other apps or while using the phone then you have to back out of the app to do what you were trying to do.
Love this station, but it needs to work on this app. Stops to buffer constantly even on full strength WiFi. And the odd repetition of some ads and even programming, gets tiresome.
You ruined a great app with advertising greed. So obnoxious. Going back to iHeartRadio.
App will only play radio broadcast 15 seconds at time. This problem exists with wifi-connected and the phone in a stationary position. This app is a complete failure should be removed from Google play.
Constantly drops, have to reload, buffering, stays at 0 pct. have to switch to weather then back again to connect. 8/23 Updated, audio stream error. Oy. Removing.
Garbage. The app freezes all the time and rarely works smooth. I only use this app for Podcast, but will change as soon as I can find Chris plante somewhere else on Podcast.
Locks or stops non-stop! Horrible app.
Cuts off constantly. Replays the same parts at random. Ads pop in and out. Worse than the previous years I've been listening.
I have been using this App for years and working fine. However, been having problems connecting since Oct-01-2020. Tha App Starts/Drops saying no Internet. I reinstalled but the same. Hmmm! Then wants to send report to Google. Is this an October Surprise?
For my continuing education at 70 yo I choose WMAL as one of my sources for that! App is easy and doesn't buffer. Listening to honest clarity on purpose and without regret in San Jose CA!! The excellent content of Chris Plante's articulation of such spot on Truth !! ... in his witty word craft way that makes the suffering thru the numerous ads worth it !! 🍻👍👍🙏🏼🇺🇸
Used to work great. Crashes regularly now. Love your content but getting hard to keep re-loading
Using Android. Sound won't come on without hitting another link then back to live. No sound at all today. Android or Iphone. 2/20/20 update: NO CHANGE! still not working properly!!
Stopped downloading podcasts. Difficult to turn off once started. Had to un install and look for other ways of listening to Chris Plante...
App is very difficult to close. Cant close ads to close the app. Keeps playing in background when you close all
Stops for no reason. Toggling between apps brings it back. Very frustrating on occasion.
Always crashes. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but I still get same result. PLEASE fix your app.
Used only 1 day. Cuts off for no reason. Has the same annoying ads found in radio apps.
I love the "hey Google" option to open the app, but what the hell good is it if I have to unlock the phone while on the road to close a visual ad? I understand the need for advertisment but, visual ads on apps that most people use while driving is nonsensical. On top of that, you'd think maybe I can just start the app before starting my trip...then it crashes so you'd have to go through the ad BS again.
