Worth every penny. This app has an astounding ability to answer math questions. Highly recommend.
dark mode! please! (also the UI isn't too great in general but that's secondary)
If you need specific information about anything, the app does a great job presenting it. It is a bit slow at computing everything and it requires really specific input to give the desired results (can get used to that). The UI is a bit outdated and the in-app keyboard is clumsy (you can disable it and I do not use it) but it does what it needs to do. I recommend it, it really is a good source of information.
Best app purchase I've ever made. Often I purchase apps and in-app items and forget about them a month or two later. This app has lasted me years, and I don't regret buying it at all. I do wish the keyboard was a little better, and there are plenty of UI fixes I would suggest. However, having the power of extended computation time is worth the trouble.
This app used to be excellent some three to five years ago. Search engines nowadays are slowly including many features that WolframAlpha has, while it is stuck in one place. (Not saying that this is a search engine!) I would agree that this app is in many cases still useful, but overall it is not worth the money. Not mentioning the slow computing speed. The input method isn't even suited for math problems, though that is the most useful feature (at least for me).
One of if not the best app(s) hands down. Solutions are very detailed with work included and has almost every if not every math topic in existence built into it. The cool thing is that it's not just math that it can cover, it can do almost everything from science to music to arts to transportation and way more. Going through all the different topics and examples is an experience in it of itself. If I could only buy one app, I'd pick this one in a heartbeat.
After years of experience with my EVERY SINGLE phone I owned, this app has now become TOTALLY USELESS. Even Wikipedia is now a much better option. I'll give you just one of COUNTLESS examples by writing down my last experience with it. In the search engine I put in the words 'non-Newtonian fluids'. Not so long ago the app defined this concept fast & with excellence, today it doesn't even recognise the word(s). Stay FAR away from it until it doesn't do AGAIN for what it was originally built for!
Overall it is a good app but there are still issues with it. 1: it takes awhile to calculate not very long, but still long enough to be a mild inconvenience. 2: you're questions must be specific, if they aren't then it will probably be unable to give any sort of answer to the question. 3: the keys on the in-app custom keyboard are very small so it's a bit more difficult to type in a question (although at least there is the option of disabling it).
A little disappointed that there is no discounted option for when you own a pro account. Also disappointed there is no math pad for entering in formulas. The textual interface is clunky an error prone. Other than that, it is nice to be able to enter this stuff in when I have no access to PC.
The WA service is excellent, but the app is just ok. You're a lot better off using the free account option on the website for anything other than a quick, simple search. The app has issues such as poor back button behavior, no dark mode, no login option, poor custom keyboard, slow to show results. I'd view it as a teaser for the real thing.
Very upset with the Wolfram alpha team. I remember when this online app was free and fantastic. But that's not even my complaint. Not only has premium plagued this app but it cannot solve any sort of difficult ODE problem. In my multivariable diff eq class, none of the difficult problems the teacher assigns come back with results, or if they do it is rather spontaneous and a weird route to the solution (not that I mind, when that happens). I'm upset that the app times out when things get hard.
100% worth the money, this app is getting me through college. Thank you wolfram alpha! Y'all rock! Besides that, the app is difficult to use. Basically having to learn a programming language to use it. I spent 2 days trying to figure out how to make a specific kind of graph, and online help (3rd party and wolfram guides) did not help. Luckily i have programmed before so i got it.... eventually. Please make a complete and accurate website guide for all functions. NOT WIKI!
Awesome for the most part, but it doesn't quite do the simpler things after calculations, like telling me what the new Greek symbols are representing! Ie with the answer for DSolve[{0.1 y''[t] == 0.981 - Abs[y'[t]] y'[t]}, y[t], t]
The app is quite useful if you want to quickly solve things or get a plot. Only drawback is that it is terribly slow. Some idea should be implemented to first show some info and then shiw additional info as required. For eg. if I type an Equation it shows everything from plot to derivatives to limits. Instead after I input the equation let me select what I want.
I bought it to help me with differential equations and Transformations and its performance was disappointing. Difficulty recognizing inputs,no photo recognition mode,"custom keyboard" lacks a lot of math symbols, computations sometimes stop due to an unknown error while connecting with their servers. Overall a non practical app in my opinion.
Love how simple it is to lookup information throught the app, and now it's displayed to you
A lifesaver in engineering but with an annoying bug. When I'm trying "Triple Integral calculator" it oftentimes changes the value I put after pressing go and then says it's incorrect, when I go back to fix them they are completely shifted. I end up using a desktop version because it's a pain to make worth. Ill Change my rating when it's fixed
Extremely useful and a steal at this price. The step by step solutions are great if you're still learning math or just stuck on a certain problem and the syntax allows for such a broad array of inquiries that I almost always find the answer to what I'm looking for. Probably the only app that makes me wish for more microtransactions because I almost feel guilty for how much use I'm getting out of it.
The app is great definitely recommend the premium account if you're in college. However if you're trying to take the integral of any trig function to a power greater than 3 you are out of luck because it will not compute the answer. Again for the most part this is very helpful but every now and again it cannot help you and just says "timed out".
It's sometimes better to just use Google... You try twenty different ways to ask it for something what should all logically result in something - until you figure out that WA just doesn't understand two steps at once, which work perfectly fine in two steps. I actually hoped this would improve over the years and years and years it's out, but it just hasn't really. I might just be stupid and don't understand how to ask questions, but seeking it, the help wasn't anymore than absolute basic.
Thank you a lot for your application. It's really useful for some daily mathematical chores. But there is a minor inconvenience for tablets users. If I'm not mistaken, an app does not provide horizontal screen orientation, so it's not really good for typing and working at the desk.
Cool but still so limited, it can't understand queries that even suggeseted by developers. I just went "examples" tab and chose"transportation", the first suggested search is "Mini Cooper Roadster", so i chose it, sadly i got this result "Wolfram doesnot know how to interpret your input". I like the idea of returning structured data instead of text based google way, but still needs either more data or more computing power to become really powerful
While it's great, as far as I can tell there's a file upload/image upload in iOS, which isn't possible to use on the app on Android. I'm not sure why and it's alienating a lot of functionality just because someone doesn't have iOS. Maybe I'm wrong, but if so it's incredibly confusing to figure out how to use on the app. And there's no way to pay extra to unlock it, whereas apparently on iOS there is.
As a mathematics major, this is the tool I always use. One feature that would be handy is to be able to take a photo of a equation etc; and get the regular W|A output with it. Much love.
It seems like it could have been useful, but the interface looks messy as hell. After parsing, the text wrapping in the display boxes is atrocious, often producing just a column of single characters when viewed vertically. Sometimes, the results are not visible or selectable at all. I'm glad I only used Opinion Rewards credit on it.
This can do many things other than stuff for school and work. I mainly use it for algebra it is not gonna just be able to do everything you still have to do some stuff I wish they had a way to take a photo of a math problem and have it be imported. It's not easy to write out complex math so I write it in a calculator app that has a copy and paste and paste it into wolfram alpha. This is worth way more than 3 dollars. Idk if it has steps for everything it does for what I have tested it on.
This is the best app for calculating anything. It's not too pricey and it does a lot. Find statistics, probability, graphing nearly anything, all math that I can think of, elemental data, geography, historic events, data on specific people in history, and more! Not only just that, but Wolfram Alpha also does fun things, type in a common food or dish and it will give you the average nutritional information, or names to find his common thy are. Type multiple names and you get comparisons. Password strength tests, and much more that I haven't even used yet!
I purchased this app to supplement my certification studies. I found this to be a solid investment for training and studies. The app may have broader use for those in STEM careers but "mileage may vary" (professional software is serves specific needs within large companies). The app purchase doesn't cross over between android and iOS; however, it does port to new smartphone without issues. Well worth the cost IMHO.
This > Mathematica and/or TI calculators. Typing equations is hard on a phone and they understandably cannot easily implement autocorrected (although word detection and correction and/or user history based auto suggestions would be great) but I find this so much more useful than having to debug Mathematica if you're not proficient with it or prefer paper. Currently a senior BS physics student and buying this has been the best descision. New(ish) ability to see your query history is great too!
The project itself is super-useful, you can use it to solve all types of mathematical equations, as well as ask it questions using natural language like "How far is Beijing from from London" and get exact answers. One feature this app seems to lack is landscape mode on tablets. I use my tablet with an external keyboard and it is almost always positioned horizontally. This makes this app extremely inconvenient to use, so for the time being, I just open the website and enter queries there.
