Word Chums is a very entertaining game and I have played it on and off for a long while. Fun outfits! I would like some western outfits and seasonal hats, etc.! The colors are very relaxing and cheery at the same time, and thank goodness there are not a lot of things flashing or flying across the screen! Thank you for a great gaming experience. I definitely recommend this game! The one negative is a number of words are not acceptable! It's frustrating when you know the word should count.
Love this game. I love the characters and the colors. Gives another demention to scrabble. The only issue i have is that it won't let me upgrade to the add free version because it says I already have it? Yet I still have all the adds. I sent a message to the developer but never heard back. Guess I'm stuck with the adds. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Really love the game itself, although it doesn't have words that other word games have. My main problem is with the ads, and I know you have to have them, but if I could skip them after 5 seconds, then that would be great, but I'm not watching long ads after every turn. You and others that have ads that you have ti interact with 3-4 times before you're done with it kills my desire to like this game. If you get the right kind of ads (one touch skip) lmk, I'll reinstall.
Thirty second videos (some even 35 seconds) after just about every other word? What a waste of time and data! You better have an Unlimited Data Plan to play this game. The worst is when the X finally shows up (to exit out of the ad) but it's not really a tappable link (to let you exit) for another 10 seconds! Very annoying!
Great game I can play for hours against the computer or someone from around the world. I can play more than one game all at once or continue onto the next day. The characters you play against including your own have very life like emotions and features. You can give them interesting costumes to give them great new looks. You can send a costume gift to a player. You watch a few ads but not over kill like a lot of games. By far the best game. They don't pay you coins for your words occasionally.
It works great but it halts at times and spins for a bit, then it clears up and I have to re-enter my move. I sometimes question the validity of some words like tav, hie, ae, lis. These were entered by the conputer when playing against it. Not your usual words allowed in scrabble I don't think. Although I could be wrong. Hahaha
I've been playing word chums for several years, and quite enjoy it. But the last few days, I'm unable to access it on my tablet. It says it's stopped, reopen app, then the only choice I'm given is to close app. I have been playing with some players for several years, and don't wish to lose contact with those players. What is happening?
The game is cute, but has glitches. I get notifications that it is my turn to play a word, but when I open the game, it has not been updated, and it still says it is my opponent's turn!! Then I end up forgetting about the game, and losing, because I never get another notification!! It has been like this for years!! Also, the coin system is RIDICULOUS! It takes forever to earn coins - like months, but everything you can buy is so expensive!! Fix these things and I will change my rating.
Great game to play! Similar to Scrabble. You can play other people or the computer. Different characters represent levels of experience, so you can choose your challenge and comfort levels. An ad appeared after every turn (unacceptable!) and many ads were too long as well. I was ready to uninstall when offered the paid version for $5, and that was for me. Now, no ads ever!
Positives: Nice to have the option to play with either friends or a random person who happens to be there and close to your skill level. Hints are useful but not too obvious. The star method of indicating how close you are to getting the highest points is invaluable and we'll worth saving up coins to have. Negatives: There is a quick game option but there's no blurb explaining it in the rules or anywhere that I could find. Ads: Expected in a free game but they're not too obnoxious.
The last time my word chums app updated was June 24th 2021. The game freezes and crashes and eventually the option to close the app comes up then I have to start all over. This can happen three or four times within 10 minutes. This is been going on for about 2 months. My phone doesn't have any malfunctions except for when I'm playing word chums. I have sent several screenshots of the screen when the game freezes. I've communicated several times with support. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. 😵
Fun game, but needs a real dictionary! Anything "Wiki..." is not legitimate. The game doesn't accept a lot of real words and it's frustrating. It also seems to have a bug because it's not giving you coins for some achievements earned. It also REALLY needs to give coins when you "BEAT THE HINT". Otherwise, it's a great way to pass some time, especially now.
I remember when this game first came about, it wasn't so persistent with ads and much more enjoyable. Now everytime I move I get an ad which slows my game down, killing the experience. I don't want to purchase something I'm not enjoying just to make ads go away as the ads are just one issue with the game. The dictionary is another issue. It's alright to play with friends but that's all.
It accepts a lot of obscure words but denies a few common ones. Relatively easy to use. Additional features are cute and the chat is helpful. It will not update the game during spotty cell service. You might get notifications that it's your turn, but when you open up the game, it will not post the last player's move. I blame Verizon, not the app.
The app is pretty great but I bought the ad-free version years ago and I don't remember my account. I made a new one and I'm willing to pay 5 bucks again to get rid of the enormous amount of ads to make the game enjoyable. But it always says "Sorry, the purchase couldn't be completed", even before transferring me to the Google payment options. An ad-free version of the game is super cool and fun and I'd like to have it again. :-)
I can win about 80% of the medium games. It is challenging and never the same. Great to play during the Pandemic. When playing vs a computer there is no lag time waiting for a human to play. And no timer so I can take as long as I want. Update: I respect the makers of this game So Much. Such a beautiful game. Great challenge for the brain. And best yet: NO ADS!
It's actually pretty fun and it can get quite competitive. The ads can be intrusive from time to time, but it's nothing off-putting. My mother and I both think it would be brilliant if there were pajamas as an option from the shop. Edit: Bought the ad-free version. The unlimited chumbot matches, bonuses and no ads are worth it. Still want pajamas, though lol
This solitary game has many good options. I would have given it 5 stars except the vocabulary often seems to be lacking. I can't remember all of the words but the last one it didn't have was freon. Also the tile recall button is right next to the play button which causes mistakes to be made by sending a word you didn't mean to play
Brilliant and very well designed game. The dictionary is of very good quality (this has frequently put me off other scrabble type apps, when valid words are being rejected). Love the chumbots, and their response to a good or bad move! Great to be able to choose between a quick and long game, as well as playing solo against the chumbots. The random matching of available players could be improved. Might get caught up in a longdrawn game with a less skilled opponent, who takes ages to respond.
I literally could not get out of ads more than once. Solitare ad played a whole game over 10 mins. Had to reboot phone to get out. Have contacted support several times with no response. Was going to purchase, they have old credit cards on file. What is with that? Now looking for alternative game, got to have support. Especially when you need to purchase.😞
It's pretty miserable to play this game without paying $4.99 to get rid of ads. No, WAIT! You can't get rid of the ads because nothing changes after you pay; the app will still continue to offer the $4.99 upgrade, but if you, out of desperation, try to actually buy the upgrade again it will give you an error message that you already have the upgrade. I'm still being offered the same deal. The game is decent, but you see complex ads, with lots of steps needed to clear them, after every word you play, and also every time you return to the game after navigating to another app. I tried to get a refund from Google and they denied it because it was a legit purchase. They said to contact the developer...right!!!
