Word Wars - Word Game

Originally, I really enjoyed this app, so much so that I paid for a "no ads" subscription. It was great until for some reason the ads started playing again in between my turns during my subscription. EDIT: The issue has finally been resolved, however, I was not credited back for the days I had ads. This is disappointing since the ads played for half the months subscription. It would have been nice if my subscription would have been extended to reflect the days I had to deal with ads.

Love the concept. Just a few cons: 1. Ads interrupt gameplay. They're fine for getting power-ups, but they get annoying when theynplay after every turn. 2. Ads aren't displaying properly. There is no "close" button, which means you have to exit the game to exit the ad. 3. Sometimes the letters stack on top of each other so you don't realize that you have more letters to play. 4. 7 days to wait for an unresponsive opponent is too long. 24 hours of no response should be enough for them to resign.

Love this game.. absolutely love the speed of it. I can play several games in no time..love the rewards and the people you get to play. I have made some great new friends. It's way easier and faster and better than Scrabble and Words With Friends!!!! I just want to know how to return to the original layout ( color wise ).. I liked that much better.

I enjoy the game. Ads are super annoying but understandable. However since the latest T-Mobile update, the ads are so huge on the screen that you can't exit them even they're finished playing. I've had to close out the game then restart several times just to keep playing my boards. THAT'S unacceptable.

Game crashes constantly, have re-installed several times, no change. Very frustrating, uninstall and left it for a week. Then re-installed, game worked, had three matches going got to the last few tiles in each game and it crashed yet again, would,not reload so once again I re-stalled and the games disappeared, very annoying,. Am now going to uninstall and leave it that way. Shame I really used to love this game, but seriously not worth the aggravation.

☆UPDATED☆ Great app. I'm addicted to the game but u was just forced to add theonthlt subscription because of all of the ads. And some are quite long and there a lot. But like I said just got the subscription for 9.99 mo, so we will see. Fun game though! ☆☆5/28/22☆ Still enjoying the game. But, they're stingy with the 🪙coin. When you win a game you only get 4 coins +an offer to watch a video to get 10 more. I'm already paying the subscription why do I still have to watch a video? Give more🪙's!

Way too many Ads spoil the experience of what is a nice game. Also causes phone overheating to the point where my phone is too hot to hold. Not sure what processing is going on in the background, maybe it is silent crypro mining. It should not be working this hard for a game with no animation. Shame because Iike the game, but not the experience!

Great game to play and stretch your mind especially if you have challenging opponents. I have a lot of boxes that I have won but have no idea what's in them because they just open and that's the end of it, you never get to see your surprise which is annoying. Their dictionary doesn't recognize some of the valid words... Also annoying. Sometimes when playing with the bots the app doesn't allow me to watch a video to play my next level, forcing me to use my points... Also annoying.

It's a fun game, but it seems to have a lot of glitches at times. Black screens when signing on. Booted out suddenly in the middle of the game. Haven't been able to play for last 3 days due to glitching. Very annoying. Update: this game has become even more annoying. Freezing repeatedly, especially on the rewards. 2 times in a row I earned a orange box, only to have it freeze without giving the reward .... on my birthday no less!

The new update has made the game even slower. Ads that lock your whole phone, selecting letter tiles and they are froze and can't be moved into place, the game screen continually freezing up right in the middle of play. Very, very glitchy and frustrating. I'm seriously considering deleting the app and finding something else less frustrating. The games are supposed to be fun, not a headache to play!

I do like this app. And you probably will too. The reason for three stars is because of the ads. I get it. Developers need to generate revenue to keep these games free for those of us who will not purchase a subscription. If the price weren't $9.99/month or $49.99/yr I'd consider. But the ads are a bit excessive. So if you don't mind being forced to watch ads continuously and frequently for even the smallest amount of progress, this is perfect. But otherwise, it needs to change a bit.

I was initially very much enjoying this game. That is, until I started having problems. Now the screen freezes up. The screens change on their own. Letters are on top each other and I don't know they are there. There are too many ads and as someone else said, sometimes there doesn't seem to be a way to exit an ad except to exit the game. I don't mind playing multiple games but it seems like forever before your opponent plays their turn. Maybe a time limit or the game is cancelled.

The game is undoubtedly fun like scrabble however, mid-game it declares a winner and the game ends!! I've had this happen 3 or 4 times. It's extremely frustrating when you have a good game going and it just ends for no reason! Please try and resolve this glitch. Otherwise this is a super fun way to test you memory and sharpen your word skills..Two thumbs up...

I have to close the game now every time I get an advert appear, as the ads are now "too big" for the screen, giving me no option to close them once it's finished playing. Gets a bit frustrating after the 5th time closing and reopening in the one session!

I try to complete the daily challenge but each time I start a new game day, the Boot doesn't make it's first play. O have to resign and then try again. I would give more stars if you didn't constantly have weight loss adds that are dangerous and pushing products that will never work. No body is losing 45 pounds in 3 weeks and these ads are harmful. STOP IT!

Update...developer can only justify why so many ads but doesn't seem to be able to address game lock out as others have indicated. Some of those are DEGIORNO PIZZA, CALIFORIA PIZZA, ZOETIS PET. This game definitely caters the advertiser, not the player. There are constant ads within the game between moves. Some ads do not close when you hit tiny x in corner. It keeps going to the ad site or freezes. Have to close game to get back into play. This developer is definitely not customer oriented.

When I first started playing there were hardly any ads. Now I'm bombarded after every play. Im re-editing my review. The ads are awful but I love this game update.the add are so intrusive and I've noticed when I'm beating the game too much they send in the artillery. Might have to take a break. Play "Word Chums" funny similar and no ads ✌️this game is rigged I was winning against final bot showdown and it froze making me start over also I recognize the the people who are playing for the g🐈‍⬛🐜

Word averages fluctuate daily. I don't understand why that happens. But STILL SO FUN! I have had the Pleasure of making some very nice friends at WordWars!! Make new Friends and stay in touch with old friends. It keeps your brain sharp! Yes, the app has glitches every once in awhile. But overall, it runs smooth. This game continues to be an All time favorite! The creators of it really stays on top to fix any issues. They also continue to make the game interesting with new updates. Great job!!

Game is fun but there are way too many ads especially when playing bots. I understand that ads are used to draw revenue but theyre used too often and the games that are advertised don't even use accurate game play. I know there is a subscription option but $70 a year is ridiculous. There should be an ad free option for a one time fee of no more than $5 without the bonus of coins and daily item bonus.

When you broadcast a challenge, it doesn't find you 1 opponent, it finds ENDLESS opponents. You get so inundated. There is no way to turn it off and you wind up resigning or just not playing so many games it hurts your points. Will never use the feature again!

I LOVE this game and I play it everyday! HOWEVER, I am VERY disappointed lately because I have, on numerous occasions now, gotten a text that says"BERSERK" is about to start and then it does NOT! I complained about this before and I have not heard back about the REASON this happens! It is VERY disappointing! PLEASE look into this because it is one of the MOST EXCITING parts of the game!

It is entertaining. I, personally, don't mind the adds on the free game but, it is getting really annoying the way the constantly interrupting pushing on trying on getting you to open more games, to get people more wrapped around their games. If their intention is to get people pay to game uninterrupted, this approach backfires, at least for me.

I love Scrabble :) And I've been playing Scrabble-like games for many years already, especially on Plato, and I love both Plato and Word Wars. What I'd like to suggest is, please keep the designs minimal. Too much colours/animations are straining my eyes. And if you can make a night-mode board, it'll be an amazing experience because I haven't seen any app like that so far. My original rating would be 4/5, honestly. Edited: Please subtitute ads with in-app purchases like theme, tiles, etc.

I love the game, and it's great that I can have as many individual games going on as I'd like. I have a request for the developer; is it possible to highlight MY last word/move. Some opponents take a few days to play a word, which is fine, but then I forget which word I last played. The opponent's word is highlighted, but I'd like to see my last word as well, maybe for games in which my last play was 24 or 48 hours prior, etc. Highlighting my last word isn't essential for quick plays. 😊

The game is great but the players are rude.. when a player know they are losing the match they would go offline then the opponent that is left online would have no other choice but to resign from the match and lose by force. Hope you have the option that once a player go idle for 3-5 minutes while in a match they should immediately lose the game.

Was a great game before developers got greedy and increased ads by probably 300%. Now the ads freeze the game and trying to earn coins by watching ads doesnt work 90% of the time. You watch the ad but the game freezes and you never get the coins. It is a shame the developers can take such a great game and totally trash it just to add more and more ads. Pathetic.

It keeps crashing. It keeps freezing. Even after the last update, I am forced to restart the phone every single time and it is annoying. Uninstalled it, I have no reason to keep using the app if it doesn't serve its purpose.
