Wordament®

Wordament was my favourite word game up to today's update (27/11/2018) which ruined it for me. The new game modes are a nice addition in theory but playing is now such an unpleasant experience for me that I haven't enjoyed them. The new board design, the animations while playing (I disabled everything I could but some remain) and the sound effects are distracting and ruin my play experience. If you give us the option to play with the old game board design, animations and sound effects, I'll be happy to play Wordament again. But as it is now I don't enjoy it so I'll go and play something else. I wish I could downgrade to the previous version that I loved so much.

The last update has ruined the game under every point of view. It was a simple and neat game, now it's overloaded with useless stuff - leveling up? seriously? The first thing you'll do after you start playing will be to turn off the obnoxious visual effects that don't let you see the board. What a shame.

The game itself is good. Addictive and well thought out and I was happy enough to play it with ads because they weren't very intrusive. Until, that is just now. I was listening to music and all of a sudden an ad came on during the actual gameplay which took over my phone. Stopped the music, I could not actually access any phone functions except the power button and even then when i turned it back on the ad was there. I literally had to wait 20 seconds to access my phone controls. Uninstalling.

Excellent Game! I put this on every new phone. Ads are unobtrusive, popping up between every 5th game, or so; you hardly notice them, & they are skippable after ~3 seconds (& works without wifi)! Game is stable, well made, & has a clean, clear, easy to navigate menu. Games are easy enough to be quick & smooth, with some challenges to keep you interested. I've never experienced a glitch, bug, or even a bad feature! Dev's could learn a lot from this game; this is an example of how to do it right!

Surprisingly great casual game from Microsoft. I've played Wordament since it originally came out for the Windows Phone and the improvements they've made are significant and awesome. Daily puzzles, an "adventure" type mode, and other surprises mean there's plenty to do. The only thing really holding this back is the stupid subscription model. I'd happily pay for ad removal but subscriptions seem more about milking the customer for money rather than providing value. Still a great game though.

OK, but too easy. Lots of pointless animation, but that seems to be par for the course in most of this type of game. Waiting for it to get more challenging but after an entire 'world' (~100 games) it's still at a level I'd expect the average 6 year old to easily complete. There are dozens more 'worlds' and I don't have the patience to wait (how long??) for it to get more interesting / challenging. Tip: if you don't like adverts, play offline.

Good word game. Enough variations to keep You interested. As soon as you meet the puzzle minimum it closes and you move on. I really wish you could review each puzzle to see what you caught and what you missed. It also tells you that there might be hundreds of qualifying words but closes when you get a few dozen. No running score. Would love to be able to figure out how to improve my scores. I still love this game.

This is an incredible game that really challenges my mind and reflexes! I love it so much! And the best part is that it is free and gives me achievements on my Xbox profile. I wanted to add to my review that if you purchase premium you will not get your daily rewards and extra points. Everyday for the last month it will show that it rewards the extra $500 for completing all dailies, but when you go back to your title screen it will remove the bonus 500 leaving you wasting money.

WHY WON'T YOU RESPOND TO MY SOUND ISSUES?? Often when I go from headphones to none or to different headphones, even though I have the music, sound effects, and the other sounds turned off, it plays sounds anyway. I have to pull up the settings and turn the volume all the way up and then turn it back off. It's the only issue I have had with the game but it is very annoying! Edit 3 stars because I can't get help with the sound issue

I am not a fan of word games but I was looking for something different. This is a really great, simple word game. It can be as easy or hard as you want it. Has very minimal commercials that only last a few seconds. It is not tedious like some that insist you come up with a rediculous number of words. Most of the puzzles dont take long and it will give you as many hints as you want if you get stuck. And it is really, truly, completely free. Fabulous little game.

Good but could be brilliant. I enjoy this game and absolutely love the daily challenges. BUT. More and more I'm finding that identified words are being counted in my total. I've just had to find 8 words with 5 letters to meet the 5 word target....hmmm. Doesn't sound right does it? Some acceptable words are questionable and definitions as with some scrabble apps would be good. Like I said it's a good enough app and really does have the potential to be brilliant.

Enjoyed the game very much, played until I was at the 5th world. Shut it off and an hour later when I went to play, it reset my game back to the beginning. Yes I was logged in and my game was synched to my account. Now it's gone. I don't really want to restart so I guess time to delete. Also cannot find anyway to contact for support to reinstate where I was. Stupid.

Ruzzle refugee sees potential but also oversights. On Ruzzle premium for a decade, made their premium unplayable with required ads. This is the only game remotely close. The 'multiplayer' mode is a joke. The story mode is way too easy and repetitive. Completed every daily puzzle since I installed and it leaves me wanting more, which I would be willing to pay for. Actual 1v1 matches or team play with tournaments like ruzzle is needed, leagues or anything with earnables and ranks with unlockables.

I had to check twice if this was really made by Microsoft, and the same game I played many years ago. The graphics and gameplay are infinitely much worse, and the game looks like it was made by some 5-year olds Thai programmers. Absolutely shameful, as the old version was simple, beautiful, and innovative.

I really enjoy the game but yesterday my cloud sync stopped working. When it started again, my multiplayer data was there, but my adventure, daily challenge and level had all been reset to zero. Years' worth of gameplay vanished & I have no idea how to contact a support team for help.

Great word game, really enjoy playing, unfortunately I am getting foreign language ads that don't have an X to close them. I will not press a button where I have to guess what I'm pushing, please have these foreign language ads removed, it is very inconvenient to have these ads pop up constantly and needing to close the game over and over

Great except, the music and sound effects turn themselves on at random. Very annoying! I don't like music and sound effects while playing the game. Rude to surrounding people.

It might be an okay game. However, the moment I saw it had subscriptions tied to it, I deleted it. It's preposterous to make someone get a monthly/yearly subscription to remove ads. I don't mind supporting developers with a small charge to remove ads, but subscription based nonsense is insidious.

Broken on Surface Duo. If you finish a world, the prompt to click the gate renders in the wrong spot. Unfortunately, I can't even access the other modes. I contacted the devs but heard nothing, so 1 star review it is. It's a shame, I've liked this game since the Windows Phone days.

Fantastic! I don't know if it's that I'm good at this or it's just not stressful and a lot of fun. The music isn't annoying, the graphics aren't all cutesy, there's no timer. I want a game that's fun to do, not like work. I think I've found it. Words with friends uninstalled.

Was on World 6 one day, next day I opened Wordament and I was back to World 1, Puzzle 1. I had been signed in so progress should have been saved. I can hit Next and contribute without doing anything else. My previous words and score show, but it won't let me continue without opening up each puzzle. Used to enjoy this game, but this is stupid. Uninstall, sign back in doesn't fix the issue.

Terrible. Sounds are off in settings and still plays music. Full volume ads with sound. Nice relaxing game and then blasted with some ad for tictoc. Cut scenes that can't really be skipped. Just shear garbage.

The game is fine although I preferred the fast paced format of the original game. I'm also annoyed that I don't have the adverts removed as part of my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription even though I am signed into my Xbox Live account. All the same issue apply above and the adverts are now longer

The 'Nice!' text is super annoying when you are trying to look at the letters. Experience seems to be pointless. Dictionary is not great. The rest is good, though.

Would in the past have rated 5 stars, but today the locked levels open with puzzles already completed! 4 Apr 2022 The game started over at World Map 1, back to apprentice from grandmaster. But all of the games are already completed. The FAQs page does not address this.

Game is pretty fine. Hmm... a repeating repeating repeating repeating repeating "test ad" that shows some dude named TreyNutNut (?) blurting a nonsense song. Why? No, really, I'm annoyed but intrigued.

Fabulous game, however I've reached level 300 and can't go any higher. They keep on adding new maps, but STILL no levels after 300. Come on! More levels please! The game still plays but I'm not progressing anymore.

It's a decent game but it doesn't support higher than 60Hz refresh rate and most importantly it doesn't sync with the version of the game from Microsoft Store on my PC. It made me sign in with my MS account on both devices yet it doesn't sync my progress. What's even the point then?

Really need to fix the Bluetooth bug that has been in this code for a long time. Set all sounds to 0 level (no sounds; all sliders all the way to the left. Use normally. Sounds are off, this is the working state. Now connect to a Bluetooth speaker device. Game sounds start blaring out of the speaker even though game sounds are supposed to be off. This is super annoying and should be easy to fix.

New version is sad. Loved the simple old version. Ruined. Bring back the classic interface. Update: another new version...keeps getting worse and losing more players. Just keep to the simple game remove the fluff and make it accesible via Facebook again when routinely over 1000 players were on at a time
