I think the videos are great! I have a suggestion though. Once you've gone through each of the pages one of the books, it should unlock a timed videos for the book so you can read it to the videos for the kids without having to rescan the page. It only lasts a page per scan, if it could last 2 and go through all of them it would help forthe little ones attentions! My son loves the videos, but gets mad when i have to rescan the page again. Thank you!
It was very disappointing to see this book full of potential only to find that the videos do not load on my Pixel 2. We get the buffering screen and that's it it goes right back to camera mode. It could've been so great for my daughter who loves animals.
Only one video (giraffes) from the baby einstein animals of the world worked. This was a great example of tech bugs and not getting frustrated at issues just like distance learning. I do wish it worked on all the pages as it was so much fun to play the one.
We have 4 animal books with videos: Animals of the Wild, Baby Animals, Creatures of the Sea, and Friends on the Farm. We got them about a year ago, and my son (3yo) still asks to "read" the books almost daily. Reading these books is so much more than text! Before starting to read, we open the Wow Books app and tap the screen to bring up the in-app camera. As I read, I (sometimes my son) point the camera at the pictures that have the thick border around them (those are the only ones that bring up videos), and my son enjoys watching the pictures come to life. Of all the videos in all four books, only one video isn't very good (roosters - the sound is terrible). All of the other videos are wonderful, and they really bring the text to life. My son's first favorite was the gorilla as it lunges at a tree. Others we love are the horses - the galloping sound is so relaxing! - the funny monkeys, the adorable kitten, and the sharks. He isn't so into the whales, but I could watch that one all day. The only time we have trouble starting a video is when we don't have adequate lighting. The lighting doesn't have to be super-bright, but your camera needs to be able to read whatever it is in the photo borders that brings the pictures to life.
This app sucks. I only got it to work once and by the time it worked, my kid lost interest in the book and what we were doing. Good thing we bought the book for the book and not for this extra "feature", if you can call it that.
Nothing happens You just get the spiral of doom and no videos appear. There's no videos the whole point of the thing is to have videos and it doesn't have videos. This is a complete waste of time and a disappointment to my little one.
I followed the directions as well as un and reinstall the application. I was really dissapointed, I was gunna read and show this to my 1 year old son but I can't seem to get the videos to play. The video loads the page then a loading sprial pops up followed by nothing. Please help I'd love to use this app still
Only worked on 1 photo per book. The amount of time you have to hold the phone over the picture before it recognizes the photo is longer than the length of time the videos are.
This app used to work great and my kids loved it. Now when I open the app is says to touch the screen, and when I do, nothing happens. I can only open the privacy policy. Very frustrating.
Works great with s10. I suspect others had problems in low light or with cameras that have lower resolution, that's usually what makes camera apps have problems.
Very cute book! Figured since lil ones went to sleep, I'd check out this app. Unfortunately i couldn't get the app to even recognize the photos🤔 I'm way to tech savvy to be the problem here guys. Glad I try everything before offering it to my littles!
Overall okay. It worked fine for me, but the videos are short a a little blurry at times. But it is a very cute and fun idea and thing to do.
My kids are 6 & 7 and enjoy reading along to a point the videos appear. Nice concept keeping traditional reading with a touch of technology for up close live visuals.
Just gives a downloading bar that you can move as a slider button, but never gives the videos.
Pixel 2 user. App does not work on my phone. When I hover over the picture, I just get the loading spiral and that's it. I should have read the reviews before buying.
I spent $5 on 5 books from Target, and got a free app that my kids can use to interact with the books. The clips arent riveting but are still fun for the kids.
tried every page and none worked, just got the loading spiral over and over. still a fun book to read, but a bummer the app doesn't work.
We bought three of the books and the app would only play videos for 1 or 2 pictures in each book. Very disappointed.
You need to hit the reload button whatever the heck that is. This is so not worth the aggrevation. It took 10 times as long to install as the length of the video. Waste of time.
Videos don't work for me. It says "downloading" and then the screen turns black and freezes.
It's a great idea, but they are way to short of a clip. They need to make it long as the reading part.
I gave the app all of the permission it needs but the camera never turns on. It gives me a black screen with the library, how to and about buttons and nothing else
If I could give it - 5stars I would App is worthless for the books was not even worth the excitement from my granddaughter when she seen the app and we read the instructions together.... Who is gonna pay or make up for her disappointment in this deal with these books???? I don't know how a company can stomach false advertisements about their products for small children.... It's freaking shameful!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a book farm animals book for $1. Every video played perfectly for me. My toddler seemed to enjoy the videos and book.
Doesn't work on all pics. Great idea though. The 2 pictures it did work on were nice. I have the in the jungle book.
I downloaded the app and even bought the extras for my kids and the app still won't play the videos or even load at all! Need this fixed ASAP!!
Great idea but the app glitches and functions super slow. The videos glitch and skip :(
The pictures don't load. It shows a message that reads downloading but then nothing happens...
The videos won't play... They work on my wife's iPhone but the Android version of the app sucks and won't play the videos
Works fine once you get the hang of it. I couldn't get it to pull up any videos for a while. Granted, it seems some phones may not take high-enough quality pictures for it to work. However, for me. Once I got enough light and had my phone probably 8 inches away from the book, it worked. So don't be right next to the picture like it shows in the 'how to' of the app. Play around with light and distance until you get it to work. All of them popped up easily once I got the distance right!
