Mandatory result spoilers and poor usability for a premium price. Glad for this great content but madness beyond belief that unlike every other modern sports service, when you watch on a time shift (who is able to watch multiple days of continuous live weekend coverage from a random global time zone?) literally every stage, every page of an event advertises the event winner with no option to hide it. What form of joy vampirism motivates this? Also no downloading to watch on the plane/train.
Slow and inconsistent app. Having to login every time is annoying. Often big lag between imagine and audio when casting. But the biggest annoyance is the huge result spoilers that get fronted when you open the app. Why would I want the results straight in my face in an app that is used to stream the rally? If I need to watch the re-live because of work, or something, I don't want the results spoiled instantly before I can even start the stream.
None of the videos ever load or stream properly, even with a strong wifi connection. App crashes after opening a video frequently. Push notifications will spoil stage and rally results, with seemingly no way to turn that off and only have stage start/new video notifications. WRC+ is a fantastic service and great to use on PC, but the mobile app is useless.
It's marginally better than the mobile website for streaming with WRC+. UI is a bit confusing, but you'll figure it out. Complaints: Sometimes the cast-to-tv icon is greyed out for no reason. You can work around by casting using another app first. The home screen of the app SPOILS RESULTS.
Hard to use on both phone and fire stick tv, can't watch previous recorded live racing. They make it almost impossible to cancel subscription as well
Wanted to see some video.but it would'nt let me. ANOTHER app that wants your money and a lot of it.£99.99/year or £10.99/month. You got the 3 * as there was some historical video I could watch. Apps just seem to be about money and not the users enjoyment, unless you have paid out a small fortune first. I even tried to pay for a year on Friday on an app but could'nt for some reason. So I am willing to pay just not crazy amounts. Thank You
Absolutely ridiculous that I pay this much money and the live feed is absolutely horrendous! Every two seconds the feed lags and it's not enjoyable to watch when half of the race is a frozen screen
App is ok but I have to take stars away because the Chromecast feature doesn't work with wrc+ onboards. How am I supposed to catch up on rallys I missed if I can't cast it to my TV?
Complete waste of time do not download. Do not install. Read the other comments first I should have. Does work with SmartTV. Hopefully I can get my money back now.
layout is very confusing and not user friendly. Unable to log in on android tv, tells me my credentials are incorrect even after trying several times and I know my password. Would be nice to hide results so it doesn't spoil the races you haven't watched yet
I still wish you combine both WRC & ERC into 1 app. But both are decent. You need still the ERC tv app...
The content is good, love watching the highlight shows. However, there are constant spoilers of who has won the latest rally that are almost impossible to avoid when opening the app... Also, I have renewed my subscription about 2 hours ago now and still can't watch anything?? 🙄 A lot of lag and glitchy things throughout the app. It's expensive enough, surely these bugs can be fixed. *It would be nice to see a reply
I have this app on my android TV and it constantly crashes, doesn't load a highlight, or stops playing in the middle of a video. I'm glad they grandfathered me into the new pricing because I definitely wouldn't pay 100+ dollars a year for something I can't use. The new app's user experience is much harder to understand than the previous iteration. It looks nicer and is easier to navigate. However, it doesn't say which videos are viewable and which ones aren't. You just have to press the button
Watched two rallies so far, quite satisfied with the app. Unfortunately after the last update the app says that I don't have a subscription, so I cant watch live... But I have a subscription and on my laptop it does work. Please fix this. One thing that struck me as odd is that videos are played in the main screen, not on the screen you select a video in. So when a video is chosen, you have to navigate back to the main screen to actually watch it. There is room for improvement there.
Generally, a decent app to get the stage schedule. I haven't found a way to list times in my local time, though. Also, I gave a poor rating for dropping spoilers in the text of phone notifications. This is unacceptable. Edit: I took off another star because of the difficulty reading the times of upcoming stages. The faded text and pictorial background make it hard to plan when to wake up to watch on FireTV. Also, it's annoying that the FireTV app doesn't keep me logged in for the season.
High quality streaming and lots of good information and content, but the onboards are broken. I can't get the map to go away so that I can put the video in fullscreen. This means that I can only watch the video at the top of my screen in portrait mode. Quite annoying. Also, could you pass on to the xbox team that their app is completely broken and doesn't play sound. Cheers
I use this app on my Firestick and struggle to use it, it never keeps you logged in, you navigate to what you want to watch then it tells you to log in, you do so then it takes you back to the beginning. Highlights previews should be easier to find regarding days 1 2 and 3 of any even instead of having to navigate through tons of videos. Really think layout and navigation needs looking at.
It's ok but has issues. Video playing doesn't show the video name so when it bugs out,, and you have to reload, you have to find the day, which video, and what time in the video again. This happens too often on the app and watching from the website. On top of this, I HATE that as soon as a winner is declared, they send a notification and display it all over the app making it almost impossible not to be spoiled before you can catch up to what's happened.
A much improved app... But Onboard section is poor, as there is no way to use full screen landscape mode, so all you get is just a small window to watch the onboards and with no way to turn the bottom half of the screen map off either, and also no way to use Chromecast to cast to your tv in the onboard section too, it's a shame as otherwise the app is good.
A lot of money not to be able to Chromecast. When i signed up in 2015, I emailed requesting either a Roku app or Chromecast support. They said both would be soon, yet here we are in 2019 and still no ability to watch this on. a TV. Why must I be tethered to a phone or PC to watch WRC? Casting a tab or my entire phone isn't a great option, either, as it's nowhere near as smooth.
Absolutely awful at this stage. I just purchased WRC+ to watch the Croatia Rally. Everything was fine... For about 2 minutes, then nothing worked. Tried it on the app, never loaded. Tried it on my Samsung TV app, kept freezing or audio cutting out. Then tried Chromecasting to the TV from my phone app and it works for about 5 minutes then buffers out of nowhere - I have full strength internet so it's got nothing to do with that. Majority of the time blurry. Please fix this or give us refunds!
The app worked great on my phone this season as well as a few seasons back. Midway through the Portugal rally, I was unable to watch the three completed stages. Nothing showed up in the Schedule tab, so I couldn't watch any rally; the screen was black. I emailed support, was told that I could watch highlights (I don't pay for just highlights). When I explained in detail that I couldn't watch any rally, I was told simply to "try another device." I'll be sure to go buy a second phone just for WRC.
Although I have paid for WRC+ All Live and use max. 2 devices, it says too often that I have too many consecutive devices connected. This problem has been for too long. It's funny that they added Chromecast support with a new app to iOS but not to Android. Why is this? Edit: 6 months later, all the previous problems remain and even new problems added. Poor, poor app!
Pretty good app, used for the last 6 years. Occasional stability/log in issues but nothing too terrible. Biggest issue is that during livestreams I often get errors that stop the videos - wish the videos would refresh so I don't have to keep reseting the stream each time, add to that the casting function is a little dodgy too. I wish there was a way to change video quality in case the signal is weak too.
Thrilled to be able to see the various stages, not thrilled I can't skip to a specific point when casting. It always starts from the beginning and I can't skip ahead. Occasionally when casting it just stops, then I have to restart the stream, which wouldn't be such an issue if I could pick back up where I left off.
This app does a disservice to the people who create the incredible WRC content. The film work, insights and all around coverage is amazing and top notch, but this app is terrible. It's very cluttered, confusing and filled with bugs and glitches. This also goes for the app on a streaming stick.
