This is terrible the country is all over the place it's not an order you're learning Ga which is towards the bottom of the hiragana list that's way off

Very good. Lessons are divided up into neat chunks which makes it easier to learn than on Duolingo. It makes it easy to focus on which characters you're struggling with. I bought the paid option and felt that the custom review feature was good for testing my knowledge of all the characters at once. I would love to see a custom review option that lets you pick certain characters to practice in a group.

You got the basics right, lacks polish tho. The more I use the app the more annoying it gets to use because it doesn't remember my position in the menu. I have to scroll down constantly! Also, it would be great if the app could remember the characters I have trouble with, or if I could mark them manually so I can practice just those. Some tips to help memorize the characters would also be a great help (have to use a separate app for that atm).

I am a beginner with Japanese. I use this app along with other resources (textbooks, Youtube, HelloTalk, flashcards, etc) and it helps with review. The free version is okay to practice listening to the sounds. The paid version allows to to have a more randomized, and somewhat customizable, test. I just did a run through and it allows you a little bit more "out of context" learning and review. The tightness it requires when writing can be annoying.

i never really write any reviews for anything, but this one is a bit special. a good app if you want to learn japanese, i find it way easier to memorise letters if i write it, rather than just push buttons and see which one is which. i know the devs wouldn't see this, but if ya do. add a speedrun mode, me and my friend loves playing this competitively. and i think it's a good way to learn, having fun with friends and (for the lack of a better word) learning as a consequence.

This has been so useful alongside Duolingo, since they don't show you how to write the characters. I've managed to learn hiragana in a month at my own pace, and I'm just about to start katakana. Upgrading to the full version with the review section really helped. If they could add Kanji that would be really beneficial. The only issue I found was with some characters like fu, bu, pu, hi, bi, pi. The woman pronounces them almost exactly the same. It was quite frustrating taking the test.

All of these 'Write it! Language' apps are amazing. The lessons are simple and easy to understand and a great way to get both speaking and writing the alphabets of foreign languages - with hardly any ads at all, and free. Would highly recommend this app and all others in the series! However the price for premium is 6 pounds. If it cost less, say 2 or 3 pounds, I'd pay for it for the review feature. I'd also love kanji to be added in addition to the hiragana and katakana if possible.

Really helped me with learning to write hiragana and katakana, although maybe learning a few popular kanji symbols would be nice. I also really like the new update, makes it look nicer. One thing that could be better, is that when you just want to look at the practice side of things and you go out of the lesson-menu, you end up at the top of the general menu which is kind of annoying. But that's not anything I can honestly complain about, I really like the app.

I love this app but it has been down for a few months and is not working. Emailed the developer and message was blocked. Used to work great but now it is just a blank screen. Other people having same issue. Update: never did get a reply back but app is back up and running. It works great, I love this app and I'm glad they were able to fix it.

It's a solid app. Simple. I wish the delete button wasn't over "tap to advance" button. I keep advancing when I want to start over. I advise putting the delete button at the top corner so it's out of the way and easy to find. Also, I wish I could explore the premium features without using them, because I would like to know what I'm buying before I make a purchase.

Slower progress, compared with other apps that are focused on reading only, but the progress made is more solid. Which makes this app a better choice in the long run. Also not so infested with adds. Next project: add words to this app please. Dog, cat, sun, etc.. oh. And hats off for the handwriting recognition which is excelent!

Really cool app. Not even through with hiragana and purchased premium. Some little things are there to improve: Freemode Advertisement -> a bit too much if you ask me (maybe only every second or thir lessen would be better) Statistics could be more accurate, ex. seen in a calendar view or something like this. As a tablet user I would like to have a landscape mode too. But all together a really nice app which hhelps me to stick on learning the japanese characters.

I like this app a lot, but it's missing a few features I would really like. I paid for the Pro Version without ads and with the "custom test" option, but I was disappointed that the custom test option doesn't let you choose to study JUST hiragana or JUST katakana. I think this would be a really beneficial option, since the alphabets are technically separate.

Pretty awesome. I've used a seperate app to learn hiragana by site and sound, but I didn't want to get into bad habits with writing hiragana, and I'm find this app also helping with what I'm doing in the other app with recognising the individual hiragana. Pretty pleased with it, and happy I can go through it as many times as I like, and the testing is great. My only issue is the sound- I can't get sound working. Overall, very happy. Definitely worth getting .

I just started using it and love the app. This makes it so easy much easier to learn how to write. You can try to memorize the shapes but having a stylus and screen really helps reinforce the process. Simple yet intuitive. Great job devs. I made sure to get the premium as this is extremely useful. Glad to support your team.

Great app. Only thing this id say should be improved is that currently the app volume is always maxed out (meaning that if i lower my phone's volume, the app will still be as loud as possible, unless I completely mute it). The apps volume should be able to be lowered when the phones volume is lowered. Also a DARK MODE would be appretiated

I am doing the writing correctly and it won't work I've been trying for a while and I can't get it.

The app makes you want to continue. I learned all the hiragana by repeating the tests for some weeks, every single day. I read in a very good blog that its waste of time to try to learn to write them at first. Just to type them its ok (at first) because you lose valuable time and effort. But i think this simple app satisfy everyone needs. Also, thanks god its in light colour and very easy to use.

Honestly great once you know the romanji but you need to learn kata and hira by sound. Helps memorize the characters. My only problem is the voice audio is inconsistent in volume and I can not understand her. This is very noticable when doing tests for like しand じ where volume really matters. Sometimes it's very loud and clear, other times it's low and inaudible making it very difficult to react too. Maybe it's by design.

This is brilliant. Demonstrates how to draw each letter and then tests you. Throws in multiple choice to follow up so you get quick at identifying the correct letter from a crowded field. Also it doesn't matter if your lines aren't perfect (difficult using your finger) whereas other apps count your attempt as a fail when you know you got it right!
