I love it!! It's a small community so it isn't as active as one would expect but I kinda like it like that^^ there's also so many good writers๐๐๐ซ๐ I feel in my element here... Though this is a great app is not perfect it has a few bugs (when I follow people the next time I go on the app I have followed zero people) i also don't know how to change my profile pic, idk if i can save this app with my email, (if I log out will I loose all my stories?) Can't wait to see the future of this app,๐^^
I love to write stories and at first I thought I would use it help with writers block. Jokes on me, I can't get back to the my story, because I'm on the app so much. But there is so many prompts to choose from, it's just so hard! I really like the app and it gets me out of my writer block, that is another reason I really like it.
The app is nice and easy to use. The only thing is Edit Story option only visible on one of my stories, I'm not sure why. Without it, if I click Submit, I can't go back to change or copy what I wrote.
Good stories and prompts. The community seems pretty small and not very active, because most of the prompts I see don't have any stories written for them. One major problem I have with the app is that if too many genres are added initially, I can't press the submit button because the genres list pushes it down and there's no scrolling on the screen. Aside from that, it would be nice if there were more genres, and maybe a "prompt filler's choice" genre option or something.
Pretty good, a few minor things: the bookmarked prompts don't show up immediately in the bookmarks tab, you have to restart the app for them to show up. When changing what to search by, it sometimes leaves you on the same screen, you just have to tap out to close it. Otherwise, really good so far! Will definitely be useful for writing!
Almost every single prompt has a typo or grammatical error that any basic piece of correction equipment should have been able to fix. To the developers, I recommend you all get yourselves a free Grammarly account. Would do you wonders. The prompts are rarher basic, but I find that if I put a few together they make some pretty decent on-the-fly stories when trying to churn out blog content, so it's certainly a useful little tool and one worth any writer's time to check out and consider.
It is day three of the app opening up to the same three "most recent" prompts. It refuses to refresh, load new selections, or even allow me to write and submit without a number of failed attempts. Might re-download at a later date simply because I like the idea of the app. But for now I just don't think it's working well enough to justify putting up with it.
It's pretty cool, ngl!! I wrote a 1.2k oneshot in the first few minutes of download with one of the prompts, so I can attest to it doing its job!! My only issue is the fact that there's a character limit of 5k... I had to cut off a large chunk of what I wrote because it ended up at 6.8k. I get that the limit's there for a reason, but maybe an option to add multiple story parts rather than just the one could work? :0? Either way, very neat app!! :)
So, here is something I do not understand about the recent updates. I have many, many prompts saved from before the login feature was implemented. It seems like the app is two different versions depending on whether you log in or not. When you are NOT logged in, you can see and save prompts and first lines from the generators. When you are, you can only see user-submitted prompts, but you can bookmark them. Why was this done? Why can't I see my saved generic prompts when logged in?
This app let me create my account. But whichever section I want to go to, I never reach there. Why? Because the speed is too slow. Hell, I have not been able to even see a prompt, let alone read & respond to it. Since I cannot use the app for its intended purpose, I am giving it a half star.
Great app to keep yourself busy with writing. The writing community isn't that active but you might be lucky to find one to two faithful writing friends.
I absolutely love this app! I always have so many ideas but I don't put them into action. At least this way I can get my ideas out. There's many apps like this but this one is just perfect because it's simple, smooth, ad-free (please support if you can) and you can write a story based on someone's elses writing prompt if you want. There's dark mode too lol. UwU
This writing prompts app is among the best I've tried. It offers both prompts and first lines for your piece of writing. Also, it lets you save your favorites. It has a good variety of high concept situations to pitch you. I use it to write flash fiction, and it's been very helpful for that.
The app is simply... decent. Honestly, if it weren't for the user submitted prompts, it would be far better, even four or five stars. I spent a while scrolling through the user-submitted prompts, and they were unimaginative at best, and rife with grammar and spelling errors to the point of being unintelligible at worst.
There are some truly imaginative and thought provoking entries. However, the bare bones, as in "almost non-existent" features are deal breakers. With so much potential, the absence of simple curated searches is unforgivable. I have to uninstall this before it kills the creativity it should be inspiring instead.
Excellent idea! I personally much prefer the creativity of the user-submitted prompts to the stock prompts (they're a bit too generic for me), but I love how this app gives me motivation to write short stories and share prompts for others to use. :) The only improvement I'd really like is the proofing of some of the user-submitted prompts - some of them are a bit difficult to understand due to limited English skills, although I understand reading through everything and moderating takes time!
This app is great! I love that there's also a community you can share snippets and prompts with. Although I do wish there was more ways to search for prompts, and a way to change the pfp, but so far it's fine! EDIT: My only real problem I have with this app is the notifications system ๐ it shows me notifs WEEKS after I actually receive them, and even then it doesn't show all of themโit adds the rest later down the scrolling list like an afterthought. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks!
I added my writing prompts WELL over 24 hours ago and no body has accepted them yet. Every day I see the same prompts sitting on my feed. Crickets.
I am always forgetting to spend time each day and write and I've used this app to help. Plus the prompts are awesome. App is ad free and that alone is worth 5 stars.
I like it so far. Pretty easy to use but most of the time I don't end up writing from any of the prompts exactly? but love that they start the rabbit hole of throat which gets me going
Great app for a great writing experience. I just got a great prompt and I can't stop writing for the past three weeks. Thanks a million
I love this app! You can pick and choose between countless prompts created by fellow users to write a short story to, and get feedback and praise once you do. You can suggest your own prompts, read others' stories, and contribute to a small but wonderful community of budding writers. Everyone's very kind (including the staff!) and all in all it's just a lovely place to create and experience stories and more.
I love the app. The community is solid and I get to write every day from one or several of the prompts that are everyday published. There is a word limit of 5000 for the story. You can edit it even after submitting it. For submitting prompts, there is a screening process, but if you follow the guidelines, they do get published the next day. The app is basic and streamlined for utility, not for aesthetics. I love it that way and have no complaints about it. I have been using it for over a week.
I really like this app. I especially like how everything YOU write, whether it be prompts or stories, is saved together. Better than any other I've tried, and thats a few. One concern though... I can't change my icon picture. It's not a big deal, but it'd be nice if I could.
Well, I'm a few weeks into the app and I just love the writing community this app affords us. With a constant stream of prompts to write and stories to read, this has helped me to write more consistently. However, my feeds are never up to date when I log in, and my follow feed and interactions took a few days to show up, even when I was following people. Even now, it only occasionally shows the updated feed, and this is really a bummer. I really hope it can be fixed soon ๐. Thanks๐
I had no trouble posting my prompts. I like how it gets reviewed before getting approved. The app itself has quite a few bugs tho. For example, when I try to write a story under someone's prompt I can't see what I'm writing. Everything is just white. The features are also too basic. There's a lot of room for improvement.
Good little app to help spark your creativity. Good app tool for beginners & established authors to help break out of the dreaded writers block. Wish the community was more active and had additional resources for writers to utilize with a touch of a button. A writing app w/the ability to save& add your work within it, have an option to send files online & download would make this a Godsend. An open source topic reference area where research can be added by anyone in community would be a dream.
The app is pretty good. I wish there were more prompts to write. I also wish that there were more people on the app. But especially, there should like tournaments or contests against one another to help encourage writers to finish there work.
