Card On/Off
When the card is “on,” transactions are allowed based on your settings. When the card is “off,” no purchases or withdrawals are approved until the card is turned back “on."

I get the same error to update my device. Will not load. I cannot disable Google Play protect, it is grayed out. Contacted Google and they do not recommend disabling Play Protect ever. The issue could be security on my phone. It worked before. Called customer service and they were no help.
This is a good app when it connects. Twice I get a message about WIFI issues. The only solution is to uninstall and then reinstall.
When I open app it gives me a message to Update my device setting to enable verify app a Google utility used to secure your device. I called the bank for help and got disconnected.
The new release (Feb 2021) fixed the installation issues with my pixel 5. The app itself delivers what it promises and provides some peace of mind.
App will not even open on my phone it keeps asking to update my Google Play protect which is running and says everything is fine.
Helps me keep track of my credit card purchases each month so I don't spend too much.

Just got it but time will tell
For those with download issues, turn off Google Play Protect in the Google Play app settings to complete the download and installation. The pop-up is worded very strangely and misconstrues this information. The app itself is great and keeps me up to date with my balance, recent card transactions, and allows the ability to turn the card off if it's lost or misplaced.
