What is the Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine?
The Systematic Approach to Tasting® (SAT) is a method of note taking developed by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust to make tasting notes more objective and comparable.
The methodology breaks down the evaluation of wine, spirits or sake into appearance, nose, palate and conclusion, supported by universal terminology.

The SAT is published at four progressive levels of difficulty in support of the four levels WSET qualifications available. This app has been built for wines at level two making it suitable for those who are new to the SAT method as well as those that have completed WSET courses.

A systematic approach to tasting provides wine tasters with a foundation on which to build and develop their skills. The SAT forms an integral part of all WSET courses.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust
Founded in 1969, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is the largest global provider of wine, spirits and sake qualifications.

Trusted by the world’s most recognised drinks organisations, WSET has led the design and delivery of wine and spirit education for five decades and since 2004 over half a million candidates have taken a WSET qualification.

With four progressive levels of study offered through a network of course providers in more than 70 countries and translated into multiple languages, WSET qualifications inspire and empower drinks professionals and enthusiasts. To find out more about WSET, visit wsetglobal.com.

No nonsense and well structured!! I was looking for an app just to record my personal tasting notes... and this is it. Its great and I recommend it also for anyone who is not familiar with the WSET tasting format. A few additional features would make the app perfect: - editing of completed entries - access to the label/bottle images (to capture info there) - backup and/or ability to copy or download the database (I would hate to lose these notes) Q: can I backup the entires?

Easy to use. A fix needed with the low medium high settings that only appear as numbers in your finished tasting notes. Also, it would be better if once saved you were able to make changes to your tasting notes instead of having to delete and redo.

Could really have done with some testing before releasing this app. Bugs all over the place. Tannin is spelt wrong when viewing a tasting note. When inputting 'Low' in the body field it displays as a string of numbers. No opportunity to edit notes if you made a mistake

Easy to use but really need to fix the bug on " low" level which appears as some wired numbers in the submitted tasting note. It would be much better to be able to chage submitted notes, at least adding supplement note to existing tasting.

Very interesting app that allows to save your tasting notes and helps to learn the tasting criteria of the WSET standard. In my opinion it still needs some improvements. Being Italian I've noticed that several important regions (e.g. Franciacorta, Salento, Langhe, Monferrato, Etna) are not listed in the drop down menu, as well as (more importantly) several grape varieties, like Arneis, Gavi, Vermentino, Moscato, Canaiolo, Catarratto, Cannonau, Falanghina, Picolit, Pigato just to name a few.

In general easy to use and good simple app. However there is a bug where a short finish shows up as a series of numbers in the summary.

crashing constantly at the last step, when saving the note (android). this is the only reason why i had to uninstal this app. and you got no chance to edit your notes, this is pretty impractical.

Keeps wiping my aroma and taste notes and reverting to the initial listing page. Tried five times - same every time. Time wasting when I've got wine to get back to!

Fantastic app. Make sure to include North Macedonia on the list of countries on the next update of the app since, although small and landlocked country, it produces some excellent well-rounded wines on the market.

Ok app. Needs bug fixing under Palate section where some numbers appears when you choice among different body types. It really hurts the tasting sessions.

This app is inconsistent with tasting methods. Is there any way to evaluate the wine before capturing the bottle notes. The note taking order is too restrictive

Really straightforward and user friendly, I would like to be able to edit tasting notes

Many options missing: -Can't share tastes with friends -Can't search wines with different filters:ex: lemon flavours, only whites, only reds, only from italy, only from spain and whites,... - medium+and medium- levels..

Doesn't list England or its regions or a lesser variety such as solaris. Glitchy and not up to the usual WSET standard, whoever produced this app needs a spanking. Barely professional.

I love the app. But I'd love it more if it was complete and had all the categories of three sections of SAT

You are WSET. World leading organisation for Wines AND Spirits. For some reason spirits are neglected. Make this app for spirits too please.

Do we recieve certification if we do course online?

Is a good try. Missing the later edit, WSET level3, when I add a photo, it should start with a camera, and not a choose. Right and left navigation shoukd work between the categories. On regions, if I add a region it should remain in the list (in Hungary it exists only Tokaj region, but Villany, Szekszard... ). Looking forward for the next version.
