The app takes too long to connect if it connects at all.( especially over wi-fi).
Update: So, I have to let you go today. Your app developers have shown no effort to improve the performance or correct issues that plague its performance. It teems with pop up ads and crashes. You could do better. -------------- How do you turn off media autoplay in your app? I have my Chrome set to autoplay off but still they play. Older version much better, more streamlined, this version is a mess.
This " UPDATED " App was far from easy and clear to use. Even accessing the app , to read the news that I receive alerts for , was easily and clearly frustrating . After getting to the page to read the info, the page goes away, leaving a blank screen ( gray) and the local news was no longer accessible. This is my "go to" app for news.I was definitely disappointed . I uninstalled and re- installed the app. This Definitely made a positive impact .
App UI is absolutely horrendous. Livestream section is unusable and autoplay video ads are constantly playing and interrupting what you are doing. This is assuming you can get past the full page ads that take you completely out of the story you are reading. I used to use app during severe weather and it is almost useless in that regard now because of the horrible UX.
The previous version of this app was much better. It was easier to use. Unfortunately, this version is slow and is always dropping and cancels out. Half the time I'm unable to find the article from the push notification I receive. Terrible app.
SLOWEST of all news apps to open. At times fails to open even with news links.
Always has informative information about the tapping around the area..Wether it be news or weather or sports...just a great news station and if there is bad weather in the area, they always interrupt the show's to give the latest on where in the state to get prepared.. Thank You for all the hard work you do WSFA team, y'all always seem to work so well together!!
Although it looks ok, it is dreadfully deficient in performance! For example, when selecting a story to read, the page loads up, a than viola, it's gone and a blank screen takes its place. Please bring back the old mobile site!
Functionally a perfectly fine app. I despise the pop up " dear Android user your a winner" ads that you can't clear from the screen. They make the app frustrating, and you have to close it to clear them. Once closed I often just go elsewhere for news.
Since the update, the app is slow, and there are full screen ads every time I try to access a news article. It takes me back to the home screen for the app when and try to get out of the ad to read the article. It's not as user friendly as the previous version.
New format is really jumbled together. Then if you get to the story and click on it. .the story comes up, you start reading and the screen goes to grey, making you think it is loading more of the story. Instead, you have to "back " out of the story and re open the story. Ridiculous. .if it isn't broke. .DON'T FIX IT
With the latest update this app became 2nd class. Cancels out and drops. Takes longer to load. I'm running a 855 Snapdragon with plenty of RAM/ROM. Advertising pops up and is frustrating to just work around to see news. The Weather App is now the same. Was generous giving it 2 stars when earlier app was given 5.
I dislike the new version, a lot of ad pop ups. When trying to read a news story and scroll up or down, the page will automatically shift to the next story. The entire new design is AWFUL!! CHANGE IT BACK!!!
The new app is a hot mess! It's jumbled, messy, has same story multiple times and ads everywhere. Screen keeps going blank when I click on a news story...I just upload your update which said it fixes problems but it still does the same thing.
Was a good app untill the latest update. Scrolling through a story is too sensitive and causes the previous or next story to be displayed. Then ads pop up after this keeps happening... great scheme for ad revenue money but I will be uninstalling.
This app used to work fine, but now it so bloated with so many ads you can't even get to articles to read them. You have to sit through 15-30 seconds of a commercial you have absolutely no interest in just to get to the news article you're trying to read only to have it disappear before your eyes and the same stupid ad starts playing over again. I am deleting the WSFA app as of today which is a shame since I have depended on them for news since the '60s. Maybe WAKA-8 news has a better app???
Uninstalled immediately. The live coverage page is nothing but ads, and commercials. I'm trying to keep an eye on the weather for my family, when there is tornadic weather. Thanks, weather channel.
I love wsfa and depend on them for the latest news BUT the app keeps closing every time you try to pass one of the ads while trying to read a story. Please fix this problem!!! When you do, I'll update my rating
I hate I had to give this one star! My God people what did yall do to this app?! I haven't been able to really look at the news now. When I click on the app it's just stuck loading. And then if I win the lottery and it does load, the app itself is a jumbled mess! It was way better before. Can yall please fix this! My nosey tail can't even see the news now😔😔😔
This app really stinks...when you open a topic the screen goes blank and you have to reopen the app only for the same thing to happen again. Useless, the old format should be reinstated it had no issues
missing a lot of important news about what's going on now and some important local news.the ads just jump up in the middle of you reading the page and very hard to x out and it starts asking questions and taking YOU away from what you're reading VERY distracting 😉 and annoying, it needs improving.
This use to be a good app. Now you can barely read any of the new articles. The article will pop up and then all of a sudden the screen goes white. Very frustrating!!!
Lately, this app has been difficult. I have had to reinstall it several times this week, as it keeps spinning when I try to view it. Ughhhhh
App continually shuts down while trying to load news story. This last update was awful. There were never any issues prior to it. Very disappointed in this app.
The app is very slow about coming up on my phone I have installed it and uninsured it rebooted my phone and it still doesn't work, so I am giving it a bad rating.
Can not see the news. Have no problem with weather app. I like watching Wsfa news but i can not pick it up. Have not seen Lester Holt since June ,2021.
This app has terrible issues with loading after clicking on notifications. Typically, from what I've seen, this is an issue with loading ads. Sometimes, after a time of sitting and waiting, the ad will load. Sometimes not. Once in the app things "mostly" work but it's dodgy, at best. Content is also not relevant to coverage area a lot of times. Corporate local media is not a good fit.
