Worst news app I have ever had. I gave this a second chance when I got a new phone thinking perhaps it was just outdated but again disappointed.. it rarely loads when I want. Have to constantly reboot to get it to work. Uninstaller again and will not use again. There are other local news apps that work much better.
Whatever you people did to the update for this app totally ruined it! I have a new phone so i know thats not the problem. The app feeezes every single time I try to watch a news clip or navigate anywhere past the home screen!! This needs to be fixed ASAP!!
The app has no trouble working when ads are playing, but once they end it because unresponsive. Video stops playing and app freezes.
This app was perfect back in 2018 but the updates they've made have ruined the live stream functionality. It either cuts out and stops mid stream or doesn't ever start the stream even though it's in the middle of the broadcast time. Now it's hit or miss as to whether I catch the news in the morning anymore since the main reason I use live streaming is that I'm not able to be in front of my TV at that time in the mornings. I need my Gil fix! Please work out these bugs!!!
I love the News 8 team but the app is horrible. It is constantly freezing. The audio changes and when this happens the picture gets glitzgy so that you can't watch the news broadcast. The app is my only way of watching your newscast since Comcast removed the station from their lineup. Please fix your app. Update 8/17/20...can not watch livestream. Says app is not optimized for my device yet the app once worked fine on my tablet. Very disappointed.
I would perfer to leave a positive feedback, but unfortunately the app works right away for the ads, not even update the weather conditions!
I have 3 devices I use to stream on. Now this app does not work on any of them. I miss News8
Keeps freezing and videos no longer play.. add plays but that's all. Galaxy note 10 plus Android 12
Just reopened the News8 app. I had had trouble with it before and I hope all of the problems are cleared up and there will be no further oroblems. I do not want to have to o close the app again but if the same problems occure again I will.
I do not like the recent changes. Use to be able to click on the first story and all the video stories would come on. Now have to click each individual and of course the commercial comes with that!
For the past week, the app closes in the middle of an article. It also freezes and reboots frequently. I do love this app when it's working. Hope you they fix the bugs.
The app crashes after I opt to skip the ads... when will news 8 be back on abc TV.
Got rid of Optimum and now I don't have access to WTNH. So I have to use the app. It is horrible. Freezes and can't always watch live broadcasting. Wish I could cast it to my television.
Apps will not open. It tells me I am not connected to the internet.
Good. Well done. Got most of the experience that I would get from TV. The only complaint I have is that the REPORT IT feature , you can't post new messages you can only add on to the messages given.
Terrible mobile app Can't make it full screen, Can't cast, Doesn't go full screen. Doesn't rotate to full screen. They Better catch up with technology or you'll be Left Behind Didn't go any further ...uninstalled
OK, but attempts to switch to full-screen fails , freezes stream, Too easy to fat-finger controls on small screen.
It's a good app but you can barely hear it when your watching it live. Same with live stream and it takes to long to load. Please fix.
Great app, runs smoothly most of the time Would like to see more Fairfield / Bridgeport news. We're left in a gap since News 12 got bought out. Ch 8 also doesn't really tell us what's going on in the world either.
App is more user friendly. Clearer print, brighter hue, easy to navigate. Thanks 👍👍
Love WTNH it's my hometown channel! Love the the reporters & news people. Also the other news programs like the weekend mornings or daily morning shows. The app gives me all the info I need
I do not like the changes that have been made with this app. I no longer get the local alerts like I used to. I am ready to uninstall this app.
4/15/22: Tried it again, and it's no better. Fewer ads more, but I can never find stories that I just watched on TV where they say "go to the app for more info". Yesterday was a story on cherry blossoms in NH. Searched "cherry blossoms" and find stories from 3 and 7 years ago. 5/5/20: WAY too many ads, many of which look like news stories. For some reason the search capability doesn't work. Nothing here I can't get from the website, where the ads are less intrusive and the search feature works.
