Very poorly designed program. You have to jump back and forth disabling your 5 GHz network connection to allow your phone to connect to the 2.4 GHz connection of the Halo. Then you get untold numbers of "unknown" errors preventing the program from finishing. IF BY SOME CHANCE you ARE able to finish setup, the equipment will just randomly quit connecting to the network forcing you to attempt the whole flawed setup process again. Support emails are worthless. They never reply.

I originally gave this a 1-star review but I give Wynd credit for being highly responsive to my problems and getting things fixed. It's when things go wrong that you can really tell how reliable something is, and Wynd totally stepped up. However.....the app constantly runs in the background, and there is room for improvement on what the app accomplishes. It shows historical air quality, for example, but it doesn't break down that historical air quality by the various pollutants it tests for.

I was very critical at first. The app did not work correctly, and was not user friendly. However Wynd is a starting company with some great products and ideas and they are learning fast. Over the latest period they kept contacting me regularly, answering all my questions and even actually implement some most of my requirements and bug reports (and still do). Because of this I give a 5 start rating. The app needs some work but overall the products are great and the app will be there as it should be. Just be more patient. For everyone with connectivity issues ( I had a lot over the past 6 months, and yes I have all the products (Halo, Home purifier, Wynd Plus)) Simply remove the app and install it again. Make sure all data is removed. It works fine afterwards, they fixed it properly.

Terrible The app really struggled to pair with both my devices. Once it eventually did, it worked for about 5 minutes before it could no longer connect, then it stopped working all together. I can't click on either of my devices, I can't unpair either of my devices, I can't update my devices, can't do anything other then switch tabs in the app. App is 100% not usable and needs to be updated ASAP!

Updating my review to 4 stars because the developers have been very responsive to fixing reported problems. At this point, the app is solid but somewhat light on features. Would like to see the ability to tweak the automatic Halo/Purifier functionality. As-is, my purifier runs on medium almost all the time because we have a .2 VOC baseline on most days. Since the purifier doesn't actively reduce VOC levels, this just generates higher noise levels and wastes energy. Would like to be able to configure what Wynd components will trigger the automatic activation. That way, I could have it automatically turn on for particulate matter (e.g. smoke) while cooking but not have it running on medium all of the time. Would also love to see more variable speeds. So instead of Low/Medium/High, the speed could gradually ramp up as the Wynd Score goes down or the PM density goes up. Would also like to see a filterable UI and some sort of open API so that those of us with home automation systems (I use Home Assistant) could integrate with other components like wirelessly-controlled exhaust fans.

This app is very unreliable when it comes to showing the battery life of my Wynd air purifier. I previously had an issue with the app stating I had 77% battery life on my device, but it kept shutting off after a few seconds. I thought my device was broken shortly after receiving it so I contacted Wynd. I found out the battery had 0%. I charged it and worked fine. 6 months later, 66% battery life and it's actually 0%. I cleared cache, force closed, rebooted phone and still said 66%. Unreliable!!!

I don't really understand this app. When I first backed the kickstarter and used it for the first times it worked perfectly. Then somewhere along the way it took dozens of tries to pair and I would sometime just give up... But when it paired it worked fine. Not in this new version it's back to pairing in a second... But my tracker data never updates. Its just stuck at whatever it was when I paired. Oh well, I got used to the light color, so I'm just not going to use this until the next updates.

Loved this before the last update. I'm now unable open the app. I was never able to update my devices with the firmware upgrade either. Hope this is a temporary glitch. Will rate 5 stars if I can get it working again. Update November 18, 2019: Initially able to view devices. When they disappeared again, a phone restart got them back. No luck updating the firmware on my tracker. I click the update button and nothing happens.

Overall rather happy with the app. However, I live in Delhi with multiple trackers withing 10km distance from my home. Unfortunately the outside api value selected automatically by the app comes from the nearest one which is malfunctioning and not updating its value for some days now. It would be much more useful if the app would allow the user to select the outside tracker station to use as reference. This would also help with the calibration process.

I'm disappointed that the app attempts to stay running in the background permanently. The app is not a necessary component at all. The purifier and the wynd halo should be perfectly able to talk to each other over wifi without the app. If I want to control these things remotely or see the data trends, then I'll open up the app.

Update: There app can't update firmware on their their own device per their support, so this results in the device not working with app at all. There fix was to tell me to try an Apple phone. Ridiculous that you have to set up an account to use it. Their products are garbage that won't connect. There are better products out there. Look elsewhere.

Crashes often on startup. Doesn't stay connected to Wynd sensor unit reliably, so graphs have missing data.Stupid GUI that doesn't immediately connect to paired Wynd sensot, instead making you scroll down to skip pairing. Won't start without an Internet connection, thus preventing you from reading the Wynd sensor AQI even though it uses Bluetooth. Crashes when switching between weekly and monthly graphs in Insights. Weekly gaph time scales are messed up. SO much worse than excellent iPhone app.

So far NO good. Tried repeatedly to make this work with this Halo device and it flat won't connect and finish setup. Moreover, the device itself seems janky and not well designed; very clunky buttons and screen. We'll see how responsive support is.

Mar. T. Jan 9, 2021

The Insights screen doesn't always responsively show historical tracker data (when opening the app, switching between apps, etc.) - while data is being loaded, it shows "Not enough data to display chart". A more detailed breakdown of the Wynd Score would also be helpful.

Very difficult to connect to the device to pair. Can't just set up the device wifi manually either. Once connected can't see the details display on the app that is viewable on the unit itself. Why? Also the graphs can't be scrolled for some reason.

A. G. u. Mar 5, 2020

Unlike others, my unit works very well from the beginning. I would like to see more data in the app like all the PM, humidity, ect. Not only the score. Like on the helo device. I can scroll through the different data.

Awful experience. Not intuitive at all or very user friendly. Trying to update the firmware on my Halo but nothing seems to work. The app keeps telling me to turn the device off and on but it never advances past that step. I give up

and. Oct 23, 2020

Room control settings do not get pushed to devices that get turned off. It worked the first time, then when I turn the air filter off and on again, it doesn't acquire fan settings from what is set in the room controls. Have to manually change filter fan settings like before.

This app is horrible. Doesn't connect well... Response to answer: No I won't try the app. Because I don't want to suffer anymore by this app issues. I prefer to use another person's phone "OnePlus7" to connect with hassle, but at least after some attempts to work...

Bra. P. Sep 23, 2021

Unit works, app and updates don't. Every attempt to update the firmware in the device fails. Recalibration always fails. The only reason it doesn't get 1 star is because according to the app when I log in the numbers in the area all match mine very closely.

Tried again as I have given up on using the wynd app and halo. Just running wynd unit by itself after frustrating time wasted set up experience last april. updated to newest version.... WYND devices are still waiting to pair...Halo is connecting to the cloud but times out and App says it cannot pair ... Im going to check out Cleantech unit as it is a smaller unit that has 3 buttons and no App. Will go with another device to measure air quality . so disappointed in Wynd unit.

Have not had any of the problems mentioned by other users. Current version works and is user friendly so far. Update: Used it more, and now see what everyone is complaining about. It keeps disconnecting.

A. G. u. Apr 27, 2020

Connecting to internet was better when I put my phone against Halo and purifier when setting up. Also Halo and purifier did not work on 5G wireless, only 2G wireless. Lastly Halo and purifier have to be within 25 feet of wireless source. !!!!! UPDATE !!!!!! Just delete and installed the new update version of Wynd. AWESOME!!!! Was able to pair Halo and purifier in just a few minutes. 5 STARS!!!!

A. G. u. Apr 13, 2020

I've now had my Halo and purifier for 5 days. I have had to re-pair the devices every day. It takes up to a half hour to get them connected. Today, I have spent up to an hour and still can't get them connected no matter what sequence I try. Garbage technology. Going back to my IQAir purifier which has been working perfectly for 10 years now.

A. G. u. Jan 5, 2019

I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app multiple times, with the same result each time. The app continually asks me if I'm connected to the internet, which I am, and, therefore won't allow me to log in or pair the tracker to my phone.

Sal. D. Dec 17, 2020

New update seems to working ok but I can't get the app to give a reading outside of 100 even though it is red. Also, the firmware update for the tracker is not working at all.
