I've noticed updates to the app, but it seems improvements for existing products are, perhaps, an afterthought. I'd like more widgets! The Device widget doesn't let you pick a group of lights. Even better would be a widget to activate a scene set for the group. It's cumbersome to load the app, scroll through my lighting groups, then tap the scenes tab, then scroll right to the scene I want for the moment. Just reading that is probably tedious, now imagine doing it several times per day! 🙏
I don't know if it's the software or the hardware but the whole Wyze ecosystem has become extremely unreliable. I have 6 cameras and they consistently and randomly become inaccessible. I also have the sprinkler controller - same issue. I'm considering scrapping it all and starting again. Maybe they should stop spending time with vacuums, etc. and get their core products to work.
Was 3 star because of how slow it was, but after an update, performance seems to have significantly improved. However, still there's the matter of needing to be online in order to sync to a Bluetooth device (the wyze watch). Other than that, everything feels much smoother!
Enjoying the app?? You can wait and the popup goes away, or immediately click the 'sure' button to review on the app store... but you can't immediately dismiss the window without clicking 'sure'. Too many notices about upgrading to Cam Plus. Good points: saving videos is quick (and with the limit at 12 second without paying more, it should be), connection times are nominal, controls are decent. Scale should fetch weight in the background, it shouldn't require the app be actively open.
The camors work good with clear views. But it pick up every bug and bee flying by ...but doesn't pick up people in the back yard. The app kept suggesting to "buy the program" that my free trail was ending. It said I would get better quality of the pics and videos. So I did . It's not any better. So this morning it popped up that I could continue with the " free app" its alittle to late for that now.
I am so disappointed with Wyze. When I first purchased it was working. Then I start having issues kept losing connections and wasn't getting events. You can't talk to a person you can only go back and forth through email. They suggested I upgrade to get better coverage which I did I paid the full year amount, now I can't get events I keep losing connection I keep trying to get a hold of people. They said I could cancel so that it doesn't renew but I will not get a refund. What happened to them
Used to be a great camera system. Now when I get a motion alert I have to wade through full screen ads for subscription services before I can see what the alert was. Nothing like looking at 2 ads before finding out if someone's in your house. And we already pay a monthly fee! On top of that, the detection zone settings for the cameras don't work anymore and I'm getting Person alerts every time a car drives past my driveway.
Fairly buggy app. Takes many taps to get most UI buttons to respond. If using Support through the app, the keyboard covers what you're typing. Did they even test? On a Pixel 5a. Then there's the cameras. I have two V3 security cams. Motion detection is useless since every slight change in lighting triggers it. Regardless of settings, resets, etc. The cams are ONLY useful if you pay for the Cam+ and set it to notify on people only. Even then it is not as quick or accurate as Ring's software.
Everything was working perfectly, so I decided to pay the yearly subscription to continue using the camera. I have been doing all the updates and suddenly the new camera doesn't work. I tried all the solutions and still nothing. I am also still being charged an extra monthly amount, which should not be happening since I already paid yearly. I have been tossed back and forth with representatives that stop responding and don't acknowledge my concern, even though I was very detailed in the issues.
When I first got the cams a yr ago they worked great. Here in the past 3-4 months there has been alot of problems with connectivity, video playback and cams just shutting down. Got another 2months ago and it worked flawlessly during the 2 week trial period. A spoon as I subscribed to service it's been garbage. Almost pointless to even have these cameras anymore if they can't figure out the issues with them.
Taking away 12 second shots it's pointless, forcing users to pay for premium service. I'm switching to Arlo. (Update) even worse since they switched to premium model. I have 5 Arlo cameras on order now. This is about as useless as a paperweight. Too many companies out there offering better service. I don't care what payment options there I'm not paying for a service to record.
The basic functionality is OK, but the camera keeps disconnecting once in a while even though my WiFi settings remain the same. Repeating the setup fixes the connection every time. It's been happening for over a year, I'm disappointed that the issue is taking so long to fix.
Wyze network is becoming highly unreliable and seems to get worse with each update. Home network is strong, troubleshooted and everything is connected. This is definitely a Wyze secure network issue. Already worked with support, yet nothing improving. Something tells me the developers are over engineering their programming causing major issues. I need my cameras to work and I need reliable service, which I pay for. Support is useless with this issue.
Troubleshooting never ends... My Outdoor Cam has issues staying connected (not an internet issue), V2 doesn't have the ability to record events, V3 has audio issues, and Cam Pan speaker failed a few months after purchase. My Wyze Car does not drive well, rendering it useless. I wish the Doorbell Pro had better push notifications. Events recorded for pushing the actual "bell" should be a separate category. I have been in contact with support for troubleshooting but still no resolution.
Absolute garbage customer service, impossible to find a number or human being to talk to. Can't cancel services through the app, says I need to visit the website. Website has no option to cancel, says I need to cancel through Google play... Obviously impossible to do that. Cameras worked for less than 2 years. Now they don't record video. Sometimes still images. Kb/s on the feeds drop to zero as soon, or if, it connects to camera. TLDR, skip this company.
Very frustrating to use the app. 1st - no dark mode. It is blinding when trying to check the cameras in the middle of the night. This should have been implemented from the very beginning. 2nd - no landscape mode to view multiple cameras at once. Another one of those abvious must haves in the app for the cameras, and yet it is completely missing. I cannot wait until I have time to load custom FW and remove this horrible app.
This app is reliable but I have been turned off by the company's decision to lock previously included features behind a paywall. The app is not that useful without a subscription. I've had my cameras for about 4 years and something as simple a short clip for events was available for everyone. Now all you get is a still image of an event. How is that useful? It's shady such a feature available at purchase time was retroactively removed. I'm glad I held back on adding more cameras.
5/7/2022 Update. App connectivity with my plugs continues to be a big problem. WiFi signal is strong. I how have about 20+ Wyze devices in two homes. Most were installed in the last 6 months. I'm happy with their performance, ease of setting them up and using them. Not too challenging for a 75 year old. Anyone should be able to use the Wyze products. Great products Wyze team. Keep them coming. I'm looking forward to trying the Wyze in wall switches. Please hold the 3 for $32.99 price.
Have to open close the app several times to even get it to allow me to view my cameras. Once it finally gets there whatever I was wanting to see is long gone. Makes the cameras useless. Edit: the app is much better now. But they need to stop popping up the Cam Plus ad every time you try to watch an event. I already subscribed to it and that's quite annoying.
The camera "View Playback" interface is not good. When I choose a date from the calendar/picker... oftentimes it will bring up some other date. Or when browsing playback from a past date... it will often warp back suddenly to the present date/time. It's almost unusable. Otherwise the rest of the app is okay, everything else works like it should.
I don't get what happened to wyze. When I first started out it was perfect and fine, now it's trash. Don't get notifications until half hour later, only get 12 second motion clips even though with cqm plus minimum length is supposed to be like 22 or 23 seconds. The list just goes on with how much that used to work and now doesn't. Shouldn't have to go through wyze tech services, if the problem is already known why not just fix it?
