It does the job. However the Android version is very lacklustre. 2 pages of channels instead of being able to scroll sideways over to other channels like in iOS. Complicated format to look at all Bus and FX sliders, whereas in iOS and PC they're all listed along the side and you can easily switch between them. This is especially frustrating live. I will say, the Gate, EQ and Compressors pages are much better and customisable on Android than iOS. Overall, Android version needs an update
This version is VASTLY inferior to the iPad version and seriously needs to be updated on the Android side. If you're like me and coming from the iOS side trying to learn the Android version, oh man, you're in for a STEEP learning curve. Having said that, after spending more than a few hours in frustration, the app does do everything you need. It would be AMAZING if they updated this to match the style and layout of the excellent excellent excellent iPad version. Come on man! Fix this one up!
This is useless. It does not run on "newer" Android devices. My phone is over 4 years old. It's not that new. My co-worker's is a Samsung Galaxy S8, which is even older. Has Behringer fallen asleep, or do they just not care anymore? There's not much point in having a portable unit like we have, and then having to lug a laptop as well.
I love this device and have no issues with the operation of it. For those complaining about it not working on newer devices all you have to do is update the firmware in the xair device and it works just fine. Firmware is available on their website.
Completely useless. Apple devices connect to my XR18 flawlessly, have tried everything with my google pixel 2 to connect with this Android app with no luck. Reset network settings, changed network settings in the mixer, re installed the app, tried the wifi lock function etc. If anyone has had this issue and has a solution please let me know!
I have been using this app for over a year. It worked great, until about 8 weeks ago. It will connect fine, but drops the connection about a half hour later. I updated the firmware on the until, so that is good. I even bought a new router, but that didn't fix it. Anyone else experiencing this and is there a fix?
Just installed and getting constant errors saying the device (Galaxy S7) is too new. When I do get in this is a pathetic implementation compared to the iPad version (I have both). Sad. Very sad.
Works Great (even with the "Just Okay" Behringer wifi system.) The connection between the tablet and my XR-18 is pretty weak, and they'll lose each other often. A bit frustrating, especially if actually using in a live situation. Behringer needs to up the power of their wifi on the XR units.
Barely usable. I have two main griefs with this app: 1) cannot get "my own channel" to play through the headphones and 2) every time it disconnects, it throws away everything - come on !!!!! I want to start plugging things before I even turn the main mixer on - because the damn app throws away everything, i have to resort to the old stickers on the snake.
I've managed to connect to my mixer once ever. I have no idea how to recreate the settings that allowed me to do this. iPad version of this app is great. This one is utter toilet. Totally unusable.
This app used to work on iPads. Unfortunately, they haven't kept up their updates and it crashes on iPads with version 13.x. Update the app and I'll give you better rating. Also, the android version works but isn't as easily navigated as the iOS version. Would like more consistency.
I think the app works very well. One thing that would help is a TAP button above the slider for the echo delay timing. You have to do two taps to go to the echo settings and two taps back out for every song you are playing to time the echo...
Does what it says on the tin. Currently using on an Acer 311 touchscreen chromebook and works well. Installation a bit awkward as app refused to install directly from playstore app. Instead, had to go to Behringer's site, click to install the app there which then opens up the playstore in a browser window, where it installed ok.
I use this for my XR18, mostly band practices and weddings. Has been pretty good for me on Android, no connectivity issues. I kind of wish there was a one button tap to initialize the mixer through the app, unless I just missed it or there's another way to do it.
Is not working more on Android 10. It suddenly do not work at the start of one live show, I was asking to somebody to install the app on an old Android version and It got me out of trouble. Behringer still don't update, they don't care the costumers.
Just changed my tablet from iOS to android and I hope I dont have any questions about this, as it's never let me down. Up date.. Well very disappointed with the android app, in as much you have to contend with changing screens to get to the others, ie. 1 through 8 and then 9 through 16. In a live application this can and does cause problems.
Navigating live is a nightmare with multiscreen compared to ipad version. Set up for fx is all over the place. You will miss a send or return is not using insert and you won't find a decent online video to help.... Behringer certainly doesn't have one
Even by 2010 standards this is the worst UI ever. An arrow pointing downwards controls what the button above does? Seriously? Most of your mixers don't have a screen, so the app is part of the product. If the app is bad, the product is bad. Please invest time and money, hire some talented (and educated) people, rebuild the app from the ground up and then you can confidently sell your mixers again. From a business standpoint, this is embarrassing and this is costing you money.
I actually prefer this version to the ipad version. It took a second to understand the layout differences but after that i customized it to work almost single screen for everything i need. Great app.
Viable mixer control, but feels very basic compared to windows, and ui is not as visually appealing as the apple version. Why can we not get the full windows style version for android tablets? Also when will a feedback detector be added?
Using the app on my Samsung phone as a back-up to my iPod. Well! My iPod crashed right after we started playing. App on phone saved the day! Compared to iPod app version it's similar but more compact, some things are better, very well laid out.
Frustrating. It's wildly different than the iPad and Mac version. It's also falling behind the Mix Station Pro app, which this is based off of. Is this just a free Behringer branded old version of mix station Pro? Please come up with a unified UX approach!
The damn thing won't connect consistently to the mixer even when standing next to it. That's no good when you're at a gig and can't use the mixer due to connection issues.
attempting to use on PC . once installed it does not place icon on home page and is not searchable in task bar... pulling it up again inside google playstore shows installed but wont allow to open. interface needs thought out a bit better, this is unexcusable.
super user friendly but only thing is I wish it had a option for a lighter theme. I do alot of outdoor shows and its hard to see the black screen in the sunlight. is this something we may be seeing in the future behringer?
turned the on, connected it up with my Lenovo yoga TAB 3 Pro, looked good. After 30 minutes use, my tablet had a horrible ghosting and flickering on the screen. Not good, I contacted Music Group (who own Behringer) reinstall the app or contact Lenovo is the response. It's unlikely that the only app in use on a tablet work no history of problems (although they tried to link me to a laptop issue of ghosting) cause the problem, they say. Shocking after sales care!! will never buy music group again
My android shows i have a firmware problem every now and then. And the wifi connection is quite bad. Please help memfix this. Furthermore why the response level between the mixer and the app is slow?
This app needs toupdated similar to iOS app. It not scaling up for Android tabs. Please do needful. XAir is a power mixer....
Flickering screen on Galaxy Tab E T560. Uninstalled/reinstalled twice. Only app on new device that behaves that way. XR18 is a powerful mixer, however connectivity instability has been a major problem. It has interrupted my gigs on more than one occasion. Have bypassed the Wi-Fi with a separate unit and system seems stable now. Now had to switch to an android tablet and am underwhelmed by this glitchy, obsolete software. The software isn't optional for this thing, it is the only device control. Took a chance with a behringer product, disappointed with the execution. For $700 I expected better. More than enough time has passed to fix the software issues.
