X-Transfer - Share/Backup Files/Contacts/SMS/Calls
X-Transfer is a content transfer & backup application used for transferring the user's data, such as personal information and multimedia content, from one device to another.
Use cases:
The App caters use cases such as transferring content to a new device; backing up, restoring and syncing content to a computer for security or archival reasons.
Cross Platform Support:
X-Transfer is a cross-platform transfer & backup solution with versions available also for iOS, Windows and Mac. The application supports the following content: Contacts, SMS, Call logs, Images, Videos, Audios and Documents. Depending on the platform, the supported contents may vary.
Repeating a transfer job and restore:
The app allows you to repeat a transfer job previously done, so that it can make incremental backups to the other device like a computer. The data can then be recovered from a backup.
WiFi-Direct Connections:
The app supports WiFi-Direct connections to yield better speeds in transferring the content. It detects the peer device's capability prior to attempting to connect over WiFi-Direct.
Connection Interruptions:
The app has a capability to auto-reconnect whenever there are connection interruptions during the transfer operation, giving the user a hassle free experience in using the application.
Special Permissions:
As the app's core functionality is to transfer or backup user's data from one device to another, where SMS and Call logs are one among the supported content, the app should be granted these special permissions. The app strictly follows Google Policies in bringing attention to the user that the default SMS app is going to be changed to our app during the import of such content and that the original default SMS app would be set back right after the import.

Works well for iPhone to Android and vice versa. But only problem is it takes to much time to even send a single photo from one device to another. Even if shared using Android share menu
I am too happy with the experience. I was not able to transfer data from my OnePlus 6 to iphone 13 pro. This is the only app that helped me through. Just one disadvantage is that you need to keep the screen on the app or else the trasfer stops. But anyway, it is the only thing that helped. So I am grateful. Thanks. Cheers!!
I was actually initially impressed with the app as it has no ads. Unfortunately, I was unable to establish a connection to another phone. I enabled tethering on my phone and have the other phone connect to mine. Upon attempt to connect using the app through the QR code, it threw an error informing me that the connection was reset. I'll change my review rating once the issue is fixed. I really believe that this is the best file transfer app one can install.
There is a constant message that your internet is slow and they want us to download another one of their stupid app to fix the problem, claiming that its completely optional. If you don't download, this app will start interferring with your internet connection and your phone will no longer be able to connect to WiFi while using this app. Moreover, it doesn't let me choose which apps I want to transfer. I just wanted to copy data from phone memory, but it started copying from my SD card as well.
The app is very easy to use. Very simple to connect both phones via WiFi Direct. Open the app on both phones, choose which phone sends and what to send and it does it Very Fast. I got the Most Recent phone call logs, a few sounds and my text messages. At first I was confused and thought I could only use their SMS app to retain my text messages. That is not true. You have to use their app to GET the messages. Then it reverts back to the original SMS app with all messages intact. Overall, a good app. Clean, simple interface and runs fast. Good Job!
Sadly didn't work for me. Tried connecting from phone to pc and from pc to phone. both devices were connected to my home wifi. Tried temporarily disabling firewall with no luck. no errors, no way to manually configure, no way to troubleshoot what went wrong. The QR code setup might be easy but only if it works. I have other apps that connect phone to pc and they work fine. Just looking for something better. i guess this isn't it. ☹
Painful. Only installed to send all my contacts across to my other iPhone. Can`t seem to find one that will send them all. The app just hangs on "Reading MMS" I understand this is a new feature but it would have been wise to add a feature that allows you to select what content you want to transfer before it searches your entire phone. This would speed up this whole process for someone in my position. Please fix this ASAP! Phone: OPPO Find X2 Pro
Wicked fast and complete transfer. It's been difficult to find a transfer app that will also transfer my sms, and I was really happy with this one. Only hitch was that it was *extremely* finicky to connect my two phones. I got them to connect the first try and started the transfer, but I didn't babysit it and it aborted. Six tries and a reinstall later and I finally got it to fully connect again without aborting on me, but still had to babysit all the way through for fear of losing it again.
I tried to transfer my data using this app at least 10 times. No job is done completely. It all stopped in the middle and there were no option rather than abort and start everything all over again. When I was trying to do the data transfer again, the app couldn't continue the job from where it failed the other time! I wasted about 2 days trying to use this app!
Not exactly what it's claimed to be when transferring from android phone to galaxy a50 First attempt failed after about 10 minutes of download process. The "successful" attempt did not transfer sms messages and only 75% of all apps. Yet to find out what else is missing. On the positive side didn't see any ads, instructions and interface are user friendly
I'm 62 and don't understand all this technology stuff. But when I bought a new phone, I was faced with loosing everything on my old phone until I i found x'transfer. It was easy as installing the app onto both phones, 25 minutes later, 6 years of info was transferred, even all my apps! I'm amazed at how easy it was! I've been worrying about nothing!! Thanks guys at x-transfer!! You rock!
Used this app to transfer data from an original Moto G to a Moto G7. Call data, photos and documents were transferred with no problem. However, I had problems with transferring SMS messages. The app said it had done it OK but they did not appear in my Messages app. The developer contacted me about the problem and after a lot of trial and error, my problem has now been resolved. This app and developer is highly recommended.
Great option! The options were very simple and easy to follow.I liked that it highlighted the different folders so that I can choose if I wanted to transfer from a certain folder or not. This is a very good option for transferring data from the old phone to the new phone. I highly recommend!
I used it to transfer my photos to my new phone. It said it was done so i looked for them on the new phone and they arent there. So I tried again and it says there are no photos, but tbey are still on the old phone. Dont they even test this stuff ?
Worked perfectly for me. Although I did have backup files I thought I'd give this a go as it sounded simple. And it was - downloaded app to both old & new phones, took photo of the QR code to pair phones, selected the sending & receiving phone and in a few minutes all contacts, data, messages & phone records were copied to the new phone.
Connects, but hangs after selecting what to transfer. For SMS messages, my only option was to select all or go back. As soon as I select all, nothing more happens other than the other device says it's waiting for the messages to come, with an abort option. It doesn't matter whether I'm pushing from my Android, or pulling from my Windows 10. It just hangs on the receiving side, with no action on the sending a side. On windows I had to wait a while as the app catalogued over 10,000 files.
no ads. completely free. but no cloud support! it probably only works with another device, as advertised. sadly! 😔 thanks for the reply. i don't have or want a pc or tablet. above all, i need automated backup, which is what the cloud (internet) was built for. "backup" without automation isn't real. nobody backs up everything all the time. you're bound to lose something. i guess i'm just saying that either "backup" shouldn't be used sporadically or i need a better word for the "real" idea.
This is an amazing app, which transfers all the data including messages, contacts, call log, media files etc. from one phone to another at a lightening speed. It is very convenient and quite useful when switching to a new phone. Very user friendly, highly recommended!
Tried this as an alternatve to SmartSwitch. Unfortunately X-Transfer was painfully slow and then froze at the end of the transfer with no options to continue. Result=Unsuccesful transfer. Also, it required 'babysitting' during the transfer process to reactivate a stalled condition. UNINSTALLED. Not impressed.
reliable tool, no problem at all when connecting 2 devices, transferring sms, images. and files fast, wifi direct connection is smart decision by developers. those who has problems, need to check your device first, there is something wrong with your device
This app is simply phenomenal!!! The simplicity in which it transfers data & file's from one phone to another is simply mind blowing! I mean I didn't believe it until I tried it. If like me you were worrying about moving data from one handset to another from fear of potentially loosing some of it...DOWN LOAD THIS APP TODAY!!! because all of that will be alleviated.
I tried various apps to transfer messages and this was the first one of maybe five that actually worked. The other data cloning apps failed to find SMS messages or at least they never gave that as an option to clone to my new phone. The app was flawless and simple to follow. That's why I give it five stars.
Simply put 1. One click installation. 2. Pleasant & Clutter free interface. 3. Easy to use. 4. Perfect use of WiFi for high speed transfer. 5. No Ads. (BIG advantage). One of the best application in Playstore for file transfer & mobile migration. I was dejected with the options available, but this app surpasses all my expectations. Hope people use this more often & educate others by saving then from falling into ratings trap & installing some random app for file transfer or migration.
Worked perfectly! I was able to transfer over 29,000 text messages & call log from my 2015 phone to my new phone. Great job! The only improvement I would like to see added is the ability to also transfer MMS messages (currently, only SMS messages are compatible).
This app worked when all others failed! Allowed me to transfer just my SMS text messages to another backup android device to keep for reference when I switched to and iPhone. Love my iPhone but getting your text messages to transfers over is not an simple process and all of the other apps I tried claimed to be able to transfer text from android to iOS. No such luck. So at least this app successfully transfered my text messages cumulatively without wiping out any previous message history! Bravo!
Literally the best app so simple! moved all 64gigs of content from my old Android to my new Android with in 12 minutes all my music all my text messages my call logs pictures videos even app files it linked phone to phone through being on the same Wi-Fi network best app for this process hands down!! All the other's made it to complicated to make it even possible to figure it out! This one is it to get the job done!
I was having a lot of trouble backing up an S5 to transfer the data to a new phone. The old android app didn't work anymore. Smart Switch couldn't see the old phone. This did the trick, done and dusted!
