X11-Basic

X11-Basic is a dialect of the BASIC programming language with graphics capability. It has a very rich command set, though it is still easy to learn. The syntax is most similar to GFA-Basic for ATARI-ST. It is a structured dialect with no line numbers. A full manual and command reference is available.
GFA-programs should run with only a few changes. Also DOS/QBASIC programmers will feel comfortable.

This implementation is one of the fastest basic interpreters for Android. Programs can be compiled into a platform independant bytecode.

You can directly type in commands and formulas, which are beeing evaluated. This way the interpreter works also as a pocket calculator. It supports complex numbers and big integers.

Launcher shortcuts can be placed on the desktop to directly excecute BASIC programs.

Basic programs can be written with any (third party) text editor.

The BASIC programs must be placed into the bas folder (/mnt/sdcard/bas). You can find many more example programs on the X11-Basic homepage: http://x11-basic.sourceforge.net/

X11-Basic will only work on devices with external storage (SD-Card or such).

The latest and recent up-to-date update can be found and downloaded from the homepages: http://x11-basic.sourceforge.net/

The WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE permission is needed to write to the file system, The COARSE and FINE LOCATION permissions are needed to get the location with the GPS commands. The INTERNET permission is needed for all of the internet i/o functions to work.

Best Android basic I have tried - Good manual, though examples could be expanded a bit for easier understanding - Compiled binaries run real quick - Love the ability to flick between console and editor. Thanks to Markus for ad free. I note that error reports always one line short i .e "syntax error line 99" should be line 100. This a fault of text editors which should have option to set line number start at zero. Work of this quality has to be 10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brilliant! I'm just beginning with this but it seems a well-developed app with very thorough documentation. Some of the negative comments that I've seen seem to be from those who can't be bothered to read the manual and expect instant gratification. Sometimes, you have to make a bit of effort and appreciate the work and effort that has gone into this.

Consider writing an X11 compiler. I would buy the X11 compiler, if there was one and then give it 5 stars if I liked it. Nice interpreter, but no compiler, therefore I am giving X11 Basic 4 out of 5 stars.

I'd like to use this program as a replacement for my programmable-graphing calculator which has an extra selection of linear-algebra functions yet to be implemented in basic X-11.Excellent developer-support,though.Highly recommended.

Needs two things: 1. Hyperlinked reference guide for commands, functions and procedures (HTML file with included examples would be OK), 2. Support for 2D/3D accelerated graphics (light sources, cameras, polygons, 3D objects, collision detection, ect, usual 3D stuff, I bet I'm asking too much)

Pl.make some changes as the interface is too difficult to handle. It also lacks loops like 'for..next',etc.

Do you have binary background processing? How do transistors help register memory and recall?

I liked this inerpreter at first load. yr graphics and set up, seemed right and i was anxious to get going, but....ike I said, the graphics of it looked good, but they simply did not work in this phone I use, it is a samsung galaxy note 4. the effects of the interpreter were put on the screen so microscopically small, I would've gone blind if I continued. there were about 4 or 5 basic interpretters offered and I had to try all of them. this one had that problem, that one having this. .........maxon

Needed something with for-next and if-then on tablet. Whipped up a program and it did exactly what I wanted. Only gave 4 stars because I have not explored the language beyond the immediate need. Positive it is a 5- star product.

I really only want to use the open, link, call & sym_adr commands with the WIN32 .so files from the wine binaries because none of the other Android basic language apps have all the commands I need.

I have lots to learn especially how to get from a .b file to an executable file on my phone. Still enjoying myself very much. Thank you - Peter

I found this program to be most useful. . I especially like the progams that come with it, like the prime factoring example it worked where other such programs have failed I give this an 11 on a scale from 1 to 10

Works well as an adaptation of ANSI BASI Language, math equations are a snap to set up and run.

A few quirks. Colors in German. Interface with keyboard clunky. Still pretty good.

Great app. Simple basic programs can be written and executed on Windows, Linux and Android etc. Your program could be compiled and executed on different platforms. Your source code is secured.

I'm looking for an app that is similar to QBasic. But this is a completely different app.
