A few weeks about this would have been an easy recommendation. I played it years ago back when then Nexus 4 was a new device, and it was a bit clunky with loading times, but still well worth playing. I got a hankering to play soon and on modern hardware almost all my frustrations were gone, until one day it stopped being able to access Google play services. Now I can't access my cloud save, or achievements, which is annoying, hence knocking off a copy of stars. Still a great game though.

I love the game, but I had to get a refund after a few minutes of playing it. What turned me off are the ten second reloading times after the screen goes into sleep mode. That, and the fact you can't really zoom out to see the map in a bigger picture. I could look past this, but the camera zooms super close to units whenever they're selected, or if you exit from the options menu.

Great game. I own every title and DLC on Xbox. Was very happy to see it for mobile. Runs very well on my new phone as well. I am however having issues with saving and loading. My account is connected to my device, but it says other wise when I attemp to load or save in-game. I've been through all my settings with no change. If someone could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, I'd be in your debt. Game still gets 5 stars! I love it that much!

This is a pretty solid port of a very good game. The graphics are a bit dated due to its mobile nature and lack of updates over the years, but XCOM is still once of the best games of the 360/PS3 generation, and the majority of the content from that original game is here at a relatively low price. There are some minor irritating bugs, but you should have zero problems with a full playthrough. I absolutely recommend this game to XCOM fans new and old.

Just like the XCOM EU/EW experience on PC! Very well ported to mobile! However, some maps are missing, and the DLC council mission are not present. Also, the camera controls can be a bit clunky at times, but the game is slow paced, so it's not really a big issue.

Ignore the error showing up saying this is made for older Android versions. It works fine. No cloud save however. The original "X-C'mon-How-Did-I-Miss" experience. Missing the latter DLCs like Slingshot though. Tactically move your units to cover and overwatches, protect your units because they can (and will) die permanently and feel like an absolute strategic genius when your plan comes together and you wipe out all the enemies in a brilliant masterstroke.

This is a good port of the PC version. Controls are easy to use, although having to rotate your view to see inside a building when your soldier is next to it is annoying. Also, the cloud saving is broken. Facebook login doesn't work, but worse is the Google connection. I select my Google account but it can't connect because it is still trying to connect to Google+ which doesn't exist anymore.

Exellent with major problems. The camera work needs trimming. Verry difficult to select what you want sometimes (moving camera up and down and so on), sometimes impossible to select the square you want to go to bc of perspective. Plus it is laggy. Xiaomi x3 pro Poco has VERY SERIOUS LAG in ALL IN MISSION ANIMATION. While it's just animation, so it won't affect your accuracy, or where you move, it is extremely annoying. The game is fantastic, I enjoyed this tremendously, even through lags.

Fun game. Had it on Playstation which is not ideal since the viewing angles/elevations problem is the same. Playing on the S21 Ultra, it runs well despite navigating the different views. Gameplay is tough. Mistakes are punishing. The view changes on playstation and now mobile slow the battles down in a bad way but overall XCOM is captivating. It makes me want to play the PC version.

I love the game on PC so I figured on phone it would be as good as on PC or console... Couldn't be more wrong... Controls are just awfull, gameplay is clunky, it freezes from time to time, it's inaccurate as hell and just not worth of time and money. Go buy console or pc version. And PLEASE delete it from Google play. It's not meant to be played on phones.

The game seems to be a good port of the PC game and runs well even on a cheap tablet. However, all sound effects and voices are missing, except for the cut scenes. Is there some fix for this? Scrolling is annoyingly slow and resetting the zoom level when switching characters is also a bummer. I wish we could just fix the zoom we want and adjust the scroll speed in the settings. Otherwise, X-Com is one of the best games of the modern era and I recommend it for all tactical combat fans.

I've been a huge XCOM fan, played all the games on PC so I thought it would be nice to play on my phone as well. It is a disappointment... I mean it plays just like the PC version but the controls are awkward and annoying, easy to make mistakes. Also it often just crashes when I want to resume a game, and now I encountered a huge bug as well with a satellite not being active after launch completed and just takes up an uplink slot. At least it made me want to play the campaign again on PC.

XCOM is awesome. Sadly this port has not been updated in a long time so the app crashes randomly. This is usually a few missions in so it gives you a false hope that you will be fine. For me it crashes at the beginning of a mission on the second month. Really got my hopes up, I started two games to make sure it can be reproduced. Both times it was a different map so that's not even a specific one. I will update my review if this is fixed.

It's xcom. Graphics downgrade is severe compared to pc, but that's expected for a mobile platform with a variety of devices. The graphics are good enough that you can get all the visual info you need. The camera and controls can be a bit wonky, but the vertical level arrows are much appreciated. You can get done what you need done. Load times were short and not a problem for me. The game itself is outstanding as usual from xcom. Always more interesting to do. Great to pass a lot of time.

Great game. I have a S8. I love it especially when I had it on PC, but it loves to ruin my hope for any sort of long running campaign because it crashes. My first file had the most progress and when I tried to play after a save, it immediately crashed. I made second game after like a year of being mad at this event, and now I cant even load the file. Whoever made this needs to patch whatever bugs and glitches have been found. Disgraceful to leave those mistakes in a game you buy.

Fantastic port. Turn-based games like this is perfect for mobile. Only have minor gripes. Wish there was an option to turn off double tap to move, it was never precise enough to use reliably, especially when you start using areial units. Also, an option for scroll speed would have been amazing, rather than having to swipe a whole bunch of times to look around the larger levels. Some minor graphical glitches too. Overall, this is the best PC port I've ever played. Definite buy.

One of the best games on my phone. Once you learn the controls for camera views and height movement it becomes very intuitive. I will not play it on Iron Man settings as your shots tend to miss more often than their % indicates. I chalk this up to trying to make the game more challenging for masochistic players who need that extra frustration. A great game.

Aus. T. Feb 9, 2020

It's still XCOM but very slow and cumbersome. Everything about the touch controls is hard to use in mission. Selecting the abilities is about the only thing that I don't regularly have trouble with. But at the end of the day it's still turn based so as long as you're careful and learn the tricks the cumbersome controls don't ultimately matter and the game that is here is a modern classic. The pros of being able to play such an amazing game on my phone vastly outweighs the cons

Loved the pc version and this is a decent port. Most things are excellent, but one specific thing annoys me so much that I gave up. It zooms in way too much every time you change character so you have to zoom out again. All the time. I spend more time zooming than anything else. Other than that the scrolling is too slow which is a minor nuisance.

I love this game, I used to play it all the time on my last gen console and only ever completed it once. When I discovered it was on the app store it was a no-brainer and to a point the game works brilliantly, fitting especially well with touch controls. Unfortunately the game has one big drawback: the game consistently crashes after the main menu forcing you to restart the app. It's now gotten so bad that the game is practically unplayable, crashing every single time. Fix it now

S08. Dec 26, 2020

A near-perfect port of the console/PC game; everything you'd expect from the higher-end releases is here in full; the combat, the base management, the many instances of KIA, it's all here! The only real compromise here is the graphics, to allow for older devices to run it. But when the gameplay is this solid, that can easily be overlooked. And since XCOM 2 will eventually come to Android, there's no excuse not to give this a go, especially at only a $5 price point.

OG. G. Sep 12, 2020

The biggest thing you need to know is that the mobile port is missing a large chunk of customization options. The console versions came with the Elite Soldier and Slingshot DLC. Those two added a significant amount of customization options to the soldiers. So if you're buying the mobile port because you think you will have access to them, you wont. Customization options feel limited without those in the DLC. Less maps and no voiceover in different languages as well. Other than that, it's XCOM.

Dav. N. Jul 2, 2020

An excellent port of an excellent game. The camera controls can be a bit difficult at times but its manageable. The enemy movement and Meld indicators sometimes don't show up on the screen even though you can hear the audio for it. Few bugs here and there where the game crashes if you minimize it and sometimes crashes when you try to load a save. Nothing game breaking.

Great mobile game. Pay once and never again, no ads. Just like the games I used to know. Love it. And it's fun to play to boot. Minor issues are: can't tap on rooms in the HQ unless you tap it perfectly so that it doesn't register as a drag. Also, the gestures are really hit and miss. Thankfully, there are menu alternatives to both of these, but it's still disappointing. Still, for now I've given it 5 stars for as long as I can tolerate these annoyances. Galaxy Note 10+ if that helps.

XCOM: Enemy Within is an example of what mobile gaming could be. I originally played this on PC and was pretty sceptical about how well it was going to be ported to mobile. However I believe it was done incredibly well. Little to no features were lost in the transition, and it delivers on exactly what it promises. A PC quality game on your phone. I can only hope other developers can take a lesson from Firaxis and Feral Interactive and follow suit.
