The camera is fine enough quality for a kids toy, but the app is useless. It shuts off for no reason and has difficulty connecting to wifi or the device. I do not recommend!
Absolutely useless. After precise horeography of steps required for this app to even connect to the device, the connection keeps failing. Forget about video playback or download, you can maybe use it as a remote but why even bother
This doesn't work at all for me. I manage to get my action cam recognised and connected on my tablet but when I open the app it reports that the device is offline. So I certainly won't be buying the Pro version. It's a shame really
So far it's been working, but I don't understand why does it take so long to download a video from the action camera that is connected to this app. But still it's going and if gets better I will give 5 stars.
Works well the 1st day of using but then , miserably fails to load then after !! So really a bogus app !!!!
You get what you pay for. The camera was super cheap and came with accessories. The app is functional in transferring files and controlling the camera remotely, but the instructions are not clear at all. Before opening the app, you have to activate the camera's WiFi from the camera's menu and connect your Android device to the WiFi network mentioned in the camera's screen (Sport Camera in my case) with its respective password. I still find very annoying that GPS is required to use the app.
Takes forever to connect to the camera, cannot look at even a fraction of my videos, lags terribly
I didn't have any issue connecting the camera to the app. Test pictures seemed to work just fine. For a $35 Costco purchase (Explore One "4k" camera version) the app seems adequate enough. My only complaint is that there doesn't appear to be a way to utilize the SD card on my phone which has much more storage than my internal phone memory. I'm not too worried about it though as I can purchase (64gb) microSD cards for the camera and transfer stuff directly to my laptop, if I need to.
Initially i was unable to connect to the camera even after disabling data, etc...all the steps that other ppl stated. I continued to receive the message that the device was not online, the card wasnt in, etc.. Finally, I decided to hit "shoot" first instead of looking for media files, and bam, it connected. Then, I was able to 'see' the files. I was able to take pics from my phone. How useful the app is or how well it works remains to be seen. Having trouble with playback.
The App goes instantly to the wifi connect, but never picks up the camera's wifi. Yes, I know it is supposed to connect to the camera's Wifi, but it's not available, and there is no menu, no way to configure anything. Yes, I tried changing the airplane mode, and the mobile data settings. Still nothing. The instructions are minimal, poorly written and not at all helpful. I have no idea on the app interface or functionality because I can never get beyond the connect screen.
Had to turn the phone to "airplane mode" and then then on WiFi (app doesn't tell you). Finally connected. Sometimes it doesn't pick up that the camera WiFi is on, still shows it as disconnected, have to try over and over. Figured out how to "download" pictures off the camera onto the phone, but the app crashes whenever I try to share them. If I go into the app when the camera WiFi off, the app goes into "offline" mode, and doesn't show the pics I downloaded. Rough experience so far.
The app itself is very buggy. I can confirm what others have seen the inability to connect to the camera via the app. I have a solution though! The problem seems to be linked to the phones mobile data. Turning off my phone's mobile data allows me to connect to the camera most of the time. In summary, if you cant connect via 'wifi' try turning off your phones mobile data. This works for me
I brought an action camera and this is the app it says to use with it. The Wi-Fi set up for this is asinine. It just doesn't hold. Once you figure it out and get it connected every five seconds its disconnecting and you have to start all over again. Don't bother trying to download videos over WiFi. If you can get it to work, it is a decent remote for starting and stopping to record, but my camera came with a remote so I really don't need the app.
The XDV app cannot see the WiFi connection, even though the phone shows as connected to it. The app cannot see the camera at all and just constantly says it is offline. As a result, this cannot see the TF Card for viewing media. As it stands, the app has a long way to go, unfortunately. I'm sad to say that simply does not work and shouldn't be available in Google Play Store until it does.
After reading all these one star reviews I'm a little baffled. Other than needing to put my S9 plus into airplane mode and making sure I'm connected to the camera before launching the app everything seems to work as it should for me. The only exception to that is that I highly recommend you take at least one picture manually first and leave one in the camera memory at all times. There seems to be a glitch in this software if it doesn't find any files stored in the camera. This needs a fix.
Connects ok, but does nothing else. On starting the app, it always goes to the Select Wifi screen, which indicates my camera is currently connected. When I back-out of that screen, the app closes. If I re-select camera, the app closes. And so on, round in circles. Same on 2 different phones. I think I must return the camera for refund. Any better ideas?
Love this. Reliable, easy to use, quality pic. Mount is also awesome.
Can't connect to my camera and this app keeps crashing. Totally worthless. *Edit*. I finally managed to connect to my camera through the wifi, but still can't download videos to my phone. Every time I try it says download failed. So it's still totally worthless. I can access the videos by plugging the camera into my laptop, but this app is a waste of storage space.
The app works fine for me. I'm able to connect to the WiFi on my 4k camera and use my phone to shoot videos and photographs. I'm also able to download the photos and videos onto my phone. After reading some of the previous comments whilst downloading this app I thought I'd be the next to write a negative review, but so far I have no issues whatsoever. Hopefully the app continues to function correctly.
Cannot access any files to download. Cannot use it to take pics or videos from the device. Cannot use it to change any settings. And it crashes 100% of the time if you select WiFi options. Each menu item does not work. It should be withdrawn as it does not function at all.
I turn the wifi on, on the camera, my ohone says I am connected via the wifi on the camera, but the app says the camera is off line. Pkease help
Works extremely well on my ageing mark 2 Hudl tablet, although the App description warned it may not work. It also works well on my mobile. Both are Android driven. I have'nt tried it on my Windows laptop yet. I'm not sure that having used the camera card to take your movies/snapshots in it's default mode that the same card would work on both platforms. That's for sometime in the future. Follow the online instructions or indeed print them out. It (the App), works flawlessly. Just use it!
It was very nice app, but have a few bugs. Also it should added live streaming feature a cross online social media platforms(Facebook, TikTok, etc,) via wifi connection. Because Now a days people lovely want to share experiences in real-time. I really suggested that I should added in the next update of this app.
