XE Currency

Excellent app! (and notably far better than the website) Perfect to compare different currencies all at once. You can choose your rpererred currencies and index them compared to the one of your choice (does not have to be USD). Charts are also great, you can have a very narrow or large scale (up to 10 years).

I expected that an app like this, which is often used during travels and on the go, would run without internet connection! Pretty stupid that it refused to load when disconnected. I mean it's enough to updare the latest rates e.g. in the hotel and then use it when being on the market, on the plane, etc. without internet. I don't need rates updated every second! If that would work, I'd give 5* immediately. But for now, uninstalled.

Great app for the most part, but preventing users from using the app until we have updated it is bad practice. I could be in an area where I don't have enough data to download the update and can't use the app like almost happened until I found Wi-Fi nearby. Allow the app to be used in previous versions and users to choose when to install updates.

Gone backwards. If it were possible, woukd easily score a minus 5 now. Who developed this app? As a former FX dealer for a major bank, this app used to be quiet intuitive, and a novice could pick up on it and get up to speed quickly. Now it is an intelligible morass, to say nothing of the poir material design on the app itself. Now, no longer recommended imho. Time to check out the competition then come back and uninstall this mess.

I've used this app for the last 5 years while I spent a lot of time traveling. I loved that I could easily convert offline wherever I was. The app no longer works offline. Occasionally, if it updated rates recently, it will work offline, but most of the time it requires a connection. This defeats the point of using the app for me, and I am deleting it. I'll just create an offline conversion spreadsheet for future travels.

Horrible update. Didn't like when transacting got the tempting trader amount , then an intermediate second figure, and then at the final submit/confirm screen it lowered to another amount! That's 3 amounts , lowering each time. Before it was the trader/ market rate and then just the lower rate for my transaction. Bring back the previous app, oh don't bother you lost me to "Travelwise". Yes, they charge a fee but the rate is better and boy" were they fast, one day UK to CDN $$. UPDATE : April 25

Using this since 2014, back then it was a simple and really useful app. Now all went to "features" and "cool looking" direction which is just purely waste of time. I don't want to send money, i just want to see the exchange rates, instantly if possible. Congrats design guys. Uninstalling for good, found another app which does what i need.

Very slow after the update. My widgets have disappeared. App stopped working after I switched to mi 11t pro. The screen is dimmed and I can't select the area where conversion s are shown. I can still click the menus.

I've used this app for years and it was great. I just want to know who the genius was that decided that this app shouldn't function offline anymore. Does this particular individual not know that people travel all the time and really need to convert offline from time to time? Hope you improve it, in the meantime I'll just remove the app and use the next available conversion app.

Update: Just updated and it completely stopped working. Deleting now. I've been using this app for as long as i can remember, ten years perhaps, but this new update makes me want to delete it. It's ugly and impractical! The previous version was completely fine, why did you have to try to reinvent the wheel?? FAIL.

I have used this app for years without issue. I purchased the premium version. It worked successfully for a long time but suddenly will no longer update exchange rates. The app is useless when it cannot retrieve the current exchange rates.

Okay, so let me get this straight, not only there's no dark mode in this app, but now you cannot even use it offline anymore??? This was top 10 essential app on my devices, pre-pandemics, but I have no use for it in it's current very limited and over-bloated state. I'm uninstalling permanently. I've already found excellent alternative. Final message to the developers, you need to change your profession since you are not cut out for this job. You clearly don't know how to make an app properly.

It is not the best idea to insist on an internet connection even for prior chosen and downloaded currencies... What about travelers, having no internet access available? A disclaimer / message saying, that "the values are not the latest one (including last date of update...) and might therefore be not accurate" should be sufficient and more userfriendly then just stop working.

I've been an avid user of this app until this current update. It is really bad. I'm unable to access any of the currency rates at all despite updating to the newest version, uninstalling and reinstalling again. I've no choice but to abandon this app and find another currency converter app!

Doesn't work when offline anymore so completely useless when travelling - as in completely useless at the time you need the app the most. At least 4 other highly rated currency apps specifically state and offer offline mode so have to switch.

accidentally updated the app to latest version. now its more bloated and very slow. the startup time is 20 seconds; as if i am booting into a operating system. when will devs learn; bigger is not better. also the app doesnt work offline anymore. 5 stars to minus 7

It used to work offline, now it doesn't. What's the point of this change? If I arrive to a new country and I don't have roaming or free WiFi at the airport, I'd like to do conversions on the go even if the rates in the app are a few hours old.

It was the best currency converter when was possible to open it without internet. I could update the rates before traveling and do the convertions outside in shops and restaurants. Also the widget isnt very useful as only one pair of currency can be added to each widget. Why not a widget with a few lines of currencies like the one in MyCurrency app?!

This used to be a good app for travellers, but somewhere amongst the various updates, it lost the ability to be used off-line. Travellers may not always have data available when in a different country (i.e. the sort of situation when you want to get a rough idea of the foreign currency amount in your own currency), but this app no longer even allows you to convert between currencies for which you have previously downloaded (online) the conversion rates. Not good enough!!!

I'm not a fan of the newer layout, but that's subjective. What isn't subjective is that it can't be used offline - so if you're somewhere where you can't use data (which is typically going to be somewhere you're less familiar with, and therefore with a less familiar currency) then it's useless. I will find another app that can be used offline. Completely ludicrous change.

Horrible!!! No way to turn off push notifications!! I have them all disabled and still get pop-ups and push at all times of the day. I'm NOT registered on their site, so no way for them to send to me unless they accessed my info without consent. No communication from help.

Lost it's entire value. How can it require internet for every conversion? And it keeps forcing updates before the app can work (by the way, only why you are online). That's crazy. The app has outlived its usefulness. Deleting immediately.

This app used to save the last available currency info and then work offline. It was perfect while traveling abroad, where data or wifi aren't allways available. Without the offline feature, thi app lost a lot of value for me.

Put in the correct password but keep telling me something went wrong. Entered code received through email and was told wrong code! Unbelievable! Used to rely this app for conversions but will have to look elsewhere now

The most important part of this app stopped working, the widgets are showing 1.000000 rate for all of the currency pairs. The app was getting worse by each update but now it seems that I have to look for an alternative.

Lost another star!! Prompt to upgrade took me to what looked like the play store, but wasn't because it didn't have an upgrade button and wanted me to sign in to continue. Went to actual play store and had an Upgrade option there. Previously Lost two stars because there is no way to close the app without pressing the back button many times and has never been fixed.

This app has gone totally backwards! Deleting immediately waste of space on my fone, I travel alot and if this app cannot solve my problem of tell an exchange in my time of emergency without updating whatsoever Trash! Defeats the purpose. Gone backwards!

No offline use (: Absolutely crazy that you took that ability away! Why would you do that? We need to be able to use it offline. Yes there are people who sometimes don't have Internet access! Please fix it, I'm sure many users would appreciate it!
