Xenowerk Tactics

Play the first part for free. Get access to the full game with an in-app purchase.

Play as the commander of an emergency response team after a disaster at a secret lab, hidden deep in the arctic region. Your task is to cover up and maximize profits for the Xenowerk corporation, or to save the world, depending on whom you ask...

EXPLORE
Deploy squads on expeditions into the infected zone. Explore a ferocious landscape scattered with remnants of Xenowerk's absurd research facilities. Use skills, traits and mutations to mitigate the dangers, horrors and mishaps during your journeys.

Push your operatives to the limit, not to waste any precious time. Explore jungles, swamps, laboratories, shelters and factories. Scavenge for valuable resources. Carry out various missions. Secure strategic safe zones. Find and rescue M.I.A. operatives.

FIGHT
Control your squad in real-time combat against hordes of mutants. Use operative skills and mutations, such as Frag Grenade, Bait & Trap, Adrenaline, Pyrokinesis and much more, to skew the odds in your favor. Activate Tactical Pause at any time to give more detailed orders.

MANAGE
Recruit and evolve Marines, Rangers and Scientists as your operatives. But choose wisely, some may obtain dubious traits or mutations.

Spend gathered resources to enhance your base of operations; Barracks, Recruitment, Field hospital, Armory, etc. Spend earnings on treatments, upgrades and recruitment.

Cater for the whims of the Xenowerk Management to keep getting funded. Earn some extra cash-under-the-table by selling off resources on the Black Market. Or maybe try to save the world...

I paid for it after the demo period thinking there would be more substance, but there isn't. I find that there are too few enemies and too few abilities to really change things. It has a gameplay loop similar to XCOM with combat being more fast-paced. Easy was a bit of a mindless slog. Turned it up to Hard (there is no Normal), and the randomized abilities cause a lot of early game forced losses as it becomes too easy to be overwhelmed and you don't have any abilities to do anything about it.

Excellent game all in all. Could do with being able to choose loadouts for your people but I suppose having set loadouts helps to make your choices even more tactical. It's definitely worth a try, no ads even for the free part (which is fairly long) and for tactical shooter buffs you will be hooked by the time you need to purchase the full game. Good story, I definitely recommend. I mean try for free and if you love it, buy it if not, no worries just uninstall.

Amazing game. Truly addictive and nicely made. It is quite the challenge in hard mode (haven't tried the easy one). I would definitely recommend it to any tactics game fan. I was not bothered by the fact that the free version is actually a demo, I consider it a fair taste before choosing to buy and I definitely bought it. However, I would like to mention one bug: if you delete your only existing campaign, then the user is stuck in the start screen with no actions available.

It's a PC quality indie game play. Yeah the pathing is sometimes wonkey, but that's primarily due to over extending the route, or sometimes you don't realize a desk is in the way, and bam, he's surrounded by mutants. 😂 They really need to make a PC version of this. It's hands down, and easily one of my favorite games I've played recently. And hard mode is phenomenal. The missions have random mutations for the mutants. 10/10 would recommend. Edit: If you guys made a second one, that'd be great.

I liked the game but the content is a little bit shallow for that price tag. The morale and random events, made me compare it to darkest dungeon which set too high standards for me^^ After i finished the game on hard, there rly was no value in playing anymore. It is quite tough in the beginning but once you figure it out, it becomes repetitive quickly. I'd like to see more classes so you actually have to make choices. Also I'd like to see unique boss encounters. Last mission was way too easy.

Controls are simple to learn hard to master and they're really well made for a mobile game. If anyone's intrested in an offline rts game(it also has a pause button for more detailed strategies but that's up to you to use it or not) with a good options based story(at least from what i've seen so far) i'd recommend this game(be mindful that it's free up until a certain point in the story, after that it's pay to continue)

The latest update really improved the game a lot. It introduced a lot more tactical and strategic thinking mostly by tweaking difficulties and abilities. The battles now feel tense and distinct. You don't just mow down xeno with ease anymore, I even had to retreat in an early mission! There are still a few changes and additions I'm hoping for, but this game is on the way to being a classic.

They did it again. The smooth and polished graphics like in space marshal 2 are immediately recognizable. The gameplay suberb. The details, controls and responsiveness of great quality. I had to find out a lot on my own, and I don't hate that. Not much handholding, which most complaints seem to be about for some reason. Grindy? Nah, not really. The graduate increase of difficulty along the line of skull level was good, balanced. I started on hard right off the bat and suggest this to everyone.

Actually a very decent game for the price. Challenging, but fun to play. Just don't expect someone to hold your hand through the strategic parts of the game. Mission and time management are integral to success in the game. On a tactical level, the various skills provide various methods to defeat your opponent. I only wish we had more choice in selecting skills, but that would throw off the game balance.

The game is great, it just can be really obnoxious at times. The invisible mutants, for example, are just not fun. I would rather take the morale hit rather than get annoyingly harassed. Like Cazadors from FO: New Vegas...just so stupid and a waste of time. Also sometimes the pathfinding can be irritating. One of my squad members will just randomly get stuck on a table or some box and they'll get surrounded. Just some needless micromanaging. If those things were fixed it'd be more enjoyable.

Love the game. Sadly the fact you can't just "move out" or even just have a button that retreats to spawn point on autopilot upon completion of mission really ruins the game. From 5* down to just 3*. There is neither a minimap nor a zoom out function. In real life its not too hard to find your way out of a house. But in a video game with randomly generated maps it's hard to remember directions for 2-3 new maps every 5 minutes.

I'm ready to buy it, but there was an insane bug that just happened, and I don't know where else to report it. I was on Easy Mode in the Trial, having captured the second drop off point, and picked up a sample from a cache when my screen went black and the phone became unresponsive. I had to wait until the battery died before it would function, not sure if this is on my end (memory is still far from half full).

Awesome game. Can scavenge and loot for supplies, manage my base, explore and also nice storyline. The best of all is that I can play offline. This is exactly the game I want and need. Hope you add more contents to the game. It would also be cool if you add some cities too and rescuing civilians. One more thing though, please add more days limit or make it a year. It's really hard to play while XW keeps progressing.

Reminds me of a real time version of Xcom. Characters move RTS style, but shoot automatically however their skills have to be activated manually. No miceotransactions as you get to play a demo for free and then pay for the rest of the game (like a normal game). What it lacks in design it makes up for in the card system in which events are played and you use different skill and tool cards to react or counter the effects of events. It definitely makes things more interesting and I recommend it.

I had a lot of fun, very complete and basic game. You can play 5 min or an hour without knowing. I even started to have feelings for my characters, trying other ways and tactics... A bit frustrated thou by the free limits : it blocks you quite harshly at a very low level. You still have a map to clean up end enjoy your crew a few more time, but the fun ends quickly and badly.

Love the game can play hours but.... Even on easy the time scale is messed up. You lose the game if faction reaches 100%. There are 2 missions that allow you to lower factions but it's not enough to keep it at bay. Providing more opportunities to lower factions, a little at a time. There needs to be more time to allow the player to grind without raising their faction, especially to drag out gameplay. Another option is to provide the player if they lose to go back a few days to try again.

Really enjoyable game with fun squad mechanics to play with, the recruitment and recruit builds are pretty basic and of the three classes, each has a skill that does a check for enemies nearby🤷 and it's not that useful🤦, as long as you can work out how to use the very basic skills, it just becomes a numbers game; run, stop, shoot, repeat, level up, do it again faster. I like the random encounters and graphics and story so far. Edit, just lost 2 of my best squad for good. MIA? not cool! I'm out

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the ode to Carpenter with the soundtrack? Quite lovely. I love the Alien-esqe feel to the combat. I will say that the pathfinding in the game can be frustrating from time to time and I like the sense that you can potentially lose members (no one dropped in combat yet, and I'm playing on hard mode *only way to play IMHO*) More customization could be implemented and maybe some more roles introduced. If those three things get fixed/added it's an easy 5 stars

NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!! Finally! Thank You Pixelbite for ditching that trash! This real-time strategy game is well worth a buy. It has really good lighting, textures, and shadows, with the same mutant plague theme as other Zenowerk games. You'll have to train soldiers on a wide range of missions while managing a base similar to X-Com while racing against a doom clock. Fair warning this game is challenging from start to finish as all decisions are permanent and this game doesn't let you save-scum

First off I really enjoyed the game itself. Very tactical gameplay where you run a research camp fighting or monotizing a mutanation wave spreading from the arctic. The reason I gave the game only three stars is: 1- I don't like the in app purchase of the game after a short trial. I would have prefered the game to be listed as a premium title and bought it outright. That way I could have used family share. 2- The game ends if you get to much faction with any of the three groups in the game.

I love this game, it's one of my recent favorites. Honestly, I love every Pixelbite game I've ever played, they're my favorite mobile game developer. I have one big problem though, and it needs to be fixed before I can love this game again. The "radioactive blood" is insanely frustrating and takes all the fun out of the game. The damage is fine, but it lasts too long & heals enemies too much. Some of the other new enemy abilities are overpowered as well, especially since they get infinite uses.
