Garbage. Edit 5/30/22: the app has improved slightly, but the internet service is still trash and customer service leaves a lot to be desired, particularly the calls that are being outsourced to overseas call centers. I'm still at 1 star for the incredible amount of frustration I've had to endure for the past few years. Poor connectivity, poor customer service and a glitchy app
I like the features but it always freezes or doesn't load when I need it to work! I have to clear my cache or close all my apps and then reload to get it to work. Or I often go to the xfinity website to make my changes, but now you're taking that away! The Google and Microsoft family apps are more slick and never stall or freeze!
Fed up! I've tried to login for 2 months to pay my bill. Using the app, mobile browser and even desktop view on Chrome. Nothing works. It loops me back to the sign in page that looks like the standard computer programing, nothing like the updated display. I would add a photo if I could. Annoyed!
Horrible Service, I switched to what was supposed to be an upgraded modem. I've had nothing but issue after issue and when you call customer service, all you get is excuse after excuse. If the streaming isnt interrupted constantly, the channels are freezing on high def. It's time to leave Xfinity and get services elsewhere.
It's OK. I hate that in the xfinity app there's a choice to manage your plan, but every time I try to use it, I get an error message saying that I need to contact a representative. Why can't I add, remove, or change services in the app. It's the most frustrating thing! Also, I'm CONSTANTLY having connection issues. I'm paying too much for my internet to keep having issues. I don't feel that Xfinity appreciates their loyal customers as I'm told every time I contact customer service.
The feature set is amazing! However, the app always freezes and doesn't pull up the profiles when I need to turn the internet on or off. I regularly have to restart the app, my phone, or just wait 10+ minutes for it to work. There are regularly errors when trying to turn the internet on or off that don't match the reality of whether the internet really was turned on or off.
This app has alot of cool features and it's a great app, when it works... Its always freezing up on me, not loading properly and just plain doesn't function about 75% of the time. They really need to fix this ASAP. Also they need to combine all the Comcast apps into one. It's so confusing having to have 3 or 4 different apps when it's all services from the same company.
This app is buggy and broken. It was far easier to manage your account from the website on a computer or even in browser on a phone. Tried to open the data usage tab and bam support pops up and gives you an error message. Perfect example of it ain't broke so let's break it and lockout the ability to do anything from the computer, so frustrating.
COULD be great... If it didn't freeze up 95% of the time requiring restart. I have their internet, and 2 cameras, which are pretty great actually (one for my front door, one in the living room), UNFORTUNATELY don't count on using them in order to see who's at the door immediately, because the app is likely to freeze up, especially the faster you try to access your cameras. I might not have the newest phone (Galaxy S7), but I have no problem running any other apps/games/intensive software.
I installed it on my tablet and phone to use the advanced security feature. Tremendous data hog on my phone. Half a gig in about 10 days. A big deal for me as I'm on the per gig plan. I'm working with tech support to figure that out, but no luck so far. Seems to work fine on my tablet without issue, as my tablet doesn't have a data plan. Will update if I can get the data issue resolved.
I am SO fed up with this app. I mainly use this to control wifi access for my children to control usage, set schedules, release when possible. But literally, maybe 8 times out of 10 does it open when it's supposed to. Almost every. Single. Time. The app does not open or gives me an error message. It does not reflect my childrens devices correctly or consistently. It is an UTTER failure in so many ways. You would think a company like Xfinity ($) could figure out a simple app!!!
Our cars were burglarized and in between the camera not picking up the event and being unable to fast forward or rewind, only skip with no computer access, it's a complete joke and counterintuitive to what I would consider "useful". Definitely going to ditch xfinity cameras and purchase my own surveillance system because xfinity poses too much of a liability.
App sucks! You Need to fix it. I can't load anything other than the home tab (just an ad for your security cameras) and the overview. I cant see the connection tab. I used to have people set up. They have been erased and I cant add anyone. As far as the service, the modem doesn't have a very good working range. My house is 40' long. Modem connected at one end. Service is not very good at the other end. Cant use service in my garage. Pay for xfi but they say service is fine so won't give me pod
Something went wrong. Try again. Outlook not so good. You'd get more answers about your network status from a magic 8 ball. Speed test doesn't work. Network test doesn't work. Device list doesn't work. I can't wait for them to disable the website so this terrible app is the only way to manage you network.
Great connectability and coverage. I am on a 5 line phone package and have saved $150 per month since converting from Verizon. My only problem is how xfinity throttles back heavy data users. Our package is supposed to be unlimited data, but the bandwidth depends upon how much you stream per month. It does have a cap on the speed. I especially love the streaming service that is available as part of the TV package.
It worked a few times but now I login and it goes to a blank screen and never opens. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and rebooted the phone and still the same result. Something wrong with the app. It worked great when it worked but now it is worthless. Xfinity what's your problem?
BLATENTLY LIES ABOUT NETWORK SPEED!! I used this app to test my network speed because it had been unusually slow for some time. I should have known Xfinity would just lie to their customers outright, most likely to keep people off their back on the phone. Tells me I'm getting over 100% of the speed I'm supposed to. Then I used 2 other speed testing apps that I've used for close to a decade now because of accuracy & wouldn't you know it. I'm actually only getting around 16-17% of what I should!!
Ok, customer service is out preforming your app and internet. I had to reset my modem maybe 500x in the past 2mos. And it's happening to everyone I talk to.. Customer service was great getting me set up with a new one. Pleasant, professional and quick. However I am still having the same issues.. freezing up every 10mins.. it's driving me mad. I hate to leave Comcast but, this must be fix immediately.
Doesn't work correctly. Shows the device and who it's assigned to, but the time online always shows no time spent. Also doesn't let you assign time to just 1 device. It only let's you assign it to a user, so If you don't want the kids playing games, but you want them to be able to use there TV, you can't limit them individually.
I can't see recommending this service. I too have constant in and out service. I sometimes work from home and I always do my budgeting online. In the middle of doing work I have to reset my wifi which is very annoying. Watching streamed programs always go through buffering. Very very slow connections. Xfinity/comcast has to do better in keeping their customers in my opinion. They can't continue to use "your area" as an excuse. They are paid plenty for them to spend enough to get towers in areas to make for a better service experience. That is my opinion.
Can you give negative stars? For months I have had an endless "infinite" loop of login screens with no actual access to this app. After logging in, the app replies: "You're already logged in as: xxxxxx." with a big Blue button underneath with the word "Continue" inside. Click the button and the cycle repeats. I re-installed this app multiple times on two different phones. Username and password are recognized, but the same "Xfinite" loop begins again. I called tech support. I could not believe their response: "Oh, yeah, there is a bug in the app. We have no fix for it." No escalation! No work around! This app is the only way to install one of their mesh wifi pods in your home, which cost me over a $100 each. I can't install it! A year ago, I had successfully used this app with no issues and installed one of these pods.
I like the concept of the app. The features that it offers, but it doesn't deliver. I have to constantly reset the app to get simple functionality to work. It's slow as molasses and it is the most inconsistent working app I use. But for the functionality I have to use it. It's terrible, invest all your millions of dollars Comcast to make a decent app please.
Very slow and often displays the wrong information. When it notifies of new connected devices and you select the notification it takes you to the home screen of the app, then you have to find what connect and work from there. A lot of times the app will say I have no internet, when clearly all my devices are connected to the internet and having no issues.
The app is good and it gets everything done that you would want. It has the family features you can pause devices rename them put them into specific categories for different people in your household. What I don't like is that it's not very user friendly. Its also lacking a few key features that I would expect for a XB7 modem/router price point. Overall... It gets the job done but it glitches out a lot and it is pretty bad. But like I said it functions. (For the most part)
I work from home for a corporate company. My service goes in and out sometimes for 2 to 3 hours I have Xfinity mobile that goes out when it goes out, that's even worse. I have to constantly restart the modem it is very frustrating especially when I have meetings it's embarrassing. It takes 12 mins. And trying to get in contact with someone it's a long wait. It's not faster. I went from 100 to 600 and I can't see the difference. The app also times out alot it's a mission to get to the restart prt
It's "easy" sure compared to the admin tools of the old days but since it's implementation, I have had issues with my service. At random times, some devices will just disconnect and stay off until I reset the device. The more annoying issue is I have a TV in particular that takes a 2.4 connection and ONLY that. When THAT TV disconnects, I have to call and have a HARD RESET to fix that. Everything was fine before. Not everyone needs a simplified admin tool app.
You know what's great? Using my full size screen, on my wired computer to manage things. So glad you guys decided that convenience is bad, so now I can do things on a small screen. It really sucked being able to access and adjust my wifi settings from any browser enabled device, so I'm super happy that it all has to be done from an app now with no added functionality. Whoot makes me so 😊
For the past 3mos I've had issues with my internet connection being interrupted. This is not good when you work from home. I've made several calls to Xfinity to figure out what's going on, the issue gets resolved at that moment then the next month happens again. It's highly frustrating considering the amount of money spent on having the service.
The app does not work well at all. If it actually opened, it would be great. But it is so slow and never opens. Xfinity is saying it will remove its XfinityXfi website and we have to use the app to control our families internet. This is terrible! I ALWAYS have to go to the website to make any changes because the app does not work. Honestly, this may be the breaking point that makes me switch companies.
I can't even get into the app anymore, I try to open it and get the error message "sorry, we're having some trouble" over and over... Chatting with an "agent" is frustrating and takes forever. I did that like 3 times last week for another problem and I'm not going to waste anymore of my time. I don't know if it's because of an update or what, but you think it would be easier to just get into the app. Disappointed!
