I love it but I'm having an issue. Ever since I downloaded this on my Galaxy A10, my phone seems to light up randomly pulling up the bottom of the lock screen and cutting off what I'm doing. This happens even when the emulator isnt running and my phone has just been turned on. This also means I cant use game tools to record anything anymore as it cuts the video off.
Great little emulator. Not 100% compatible with all Saturn games, but being able to play Sega Rally and Virtua Fighter 2 on my phone is amazing. I've also tried this on lower end devices, and while it runs, there is some slowdown, so I'd recommend this on higher end devices. Edit. For some reason, Sega Rally stops at the Championship/Practice screen and won't load any further since the latest update. Edit. Sega Rally is now working again, these guys work fast.
While the emulation itself seems really, really promising, I seem to be having some issues regarding the use of gamepads. Tried with multiple DualShock 4s via Bluetooth and inputs seem to just go crazy after configuring them. I think it has to do with the Analog Mappings. I humbly suggest an option to select a gamepad type to emulate in the settings.
The emulator is great! The only problem I’m having is the left analog on the switch left joycon sometimes go crazy after I map it ! I’m not able to use it correctly the way I set it up. Please try to fix this issue. Also die hard has graphical problems in some stages, this core is also in retroarch and it runs good in there but I would like it to be fix in this standalone emulator if you can since it’s my favorite.thnx again
If you're having issues with a game, you can type "Yabause compatibility list" in your favorite search engine. Chances are if a game isn't working it's a compatibility issue, rather than your hardware. I'm only uninstalling because Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter isn't compatible. Other than that, the emulator works just fine. Good job, devs.
It is (and has been) a work in progress but it's getting there finally. I'm currently playing Shining Force 3 and it's mostly perfect. There are a good amount of graphical glitches, and random crashes, and other bugs like getting stuck on NPCs but it's still playable and enjoyable and looks much better than my Saturn on a 4K TV. i donated $5 and I'm hoping more users do the same because this takes a lot of hard work and time to make this happen so don't be stingy with your pennies people.
I cannot yet recommend upgrading to the premium version, based on my experience with the free version. The emulator runs fewer games correctly than you can with Retroarch, and it requires a very specific filetypes for your games to be in. At present it offers up only one advantage to Retroarch, in that it does not require fiddling with a bios file. That said the amount of games it does properly support, it does run well.
How to play Vatlva (by Ancient). Load the game and SPAM the Start/C button until you can see the in-game menu. Why? Because you must quickly SKIP the intro movie (it uses a non-typical video format back then) that is actually main culprit causing the game to hang/freeze prematurely before reaching the game menu. If you successfully managed to skip the intro movie, then you will be able to play the game without any problem. Good luck!
Runs slow on Nexus 6p. I've tried with Disk 1 of Panzer Dragoon Saga (JP) and Tactics Ogre. Both drop lots of frames regardless of resolution or core settings. Both experiences appear mostly accurate, but are not playable for me yet. I'm interested to see how this emulators evolves, and have donated. Ot's a mixed bag as of now sadly. Keep up the good work though!
Dennou Senki Virtual On, Guardian Heroes and Shadows of the Tusk are all playable. Vatlva - You need to spam the Start button to skip the (bugged) intro movie to get the game to boot properly. I managed to get into the game only after repeating that tedious procedure more than 10 times! Remember to savestate immediately if you get into the in game menu successfully.
I have been using this emulator for a long time. Always worked great until recently. Getting a failed to save state error and when I go to load a saved state it resets and takes me out of the game completely. Tried to send a report and it basically said the same thing that it failed to send report.
4 star experience overall that could and would be 5 if things like the controls were tweaked, they're too unbalanced but like everything else...are almost there. Support for more titles, like Quake, and better external controller support. Almost a perfect emulator for Saturn of all things, not bad at all, best of all it really does work.
An impressive job, does a great job of emulating games, bringing back memories...to a point. Playing Shining the Holy Ark, it runs great until the boss is supposed to appear in the South Shrine. It just hangs at that point. It would be great to see a fix happen!
This Emulator is good for playing SEGA Saturn games but there's only one problem. When I Save State, the emulator will do it successfully. However, when I try to load my save State, the emulator freezes and won't allow me to continue. Which prevents me from continuing my saved progress. Can you guys please fix this? Thank You :)
Can I email you? I believe your personal email isn't working in the description on Google play. I just can't describe the problems I have in your emulator in here because you can't leave long reviews. And thanks so much for the last few updates. My Beyond Oasis 2 runs so smooth now just like on a real Sega platform. Now I only have problems with saving the game. When I load it sometimes all the music is gone and I have to start the whole game over. You should work on quick save and quick load opt
Tried 2 games. Sega rally championship the first race course had a lot of graphical issues on screen. It played fine besides the graphics issue. The next race had much less issues. Virtua fighter megamix worked fine. I had no issues using my 8bitdo gamepad. I wish the emulator had more graphics settings.
Lost hours of saved data after app update. No response to e mail or queries on how to fix it. Still the same after another update. Waste of time. Beware. You will lose your saved game progress. Stopped working after the last update. Saved games will not load. If not fixed will have lost hours of saved games. Not good.
100% was using one of the first emulators these guys made, and it was great then. Went to look for an update today, and this was put out!! Super happy, my Outrun game was working great with no volume, but this version, worked awesome. Not sure if this Emulator lets me change frame rates, but my Galaxy S8+ is way better now!! Thank you guys, keep up the great work!!! Update: Read a review, rendering was the games issue, never mind my complaint! 5 Stars.
some great games work very well, i have a one plus 6t and it does alot of games very well. i hope they keep working on compatibility in updates though. all the 3d fighters either go back to the select screen or just never load (last bronx, vf2, fighters megamix, doa, pretty much zero 3 d fighters work). dragon force 1 and 2 and shining force games all seem to run very well for the most part with even smooth audio. virtual on daytona usa and many others work for me as well. only bin+cue works
Doesn't seem to handle cheats well. When I go to input cheat codes...in the cheats selection area, it glitches and repeats my last typed characters even when tapping backspace. I have to wait a few seconds for it to sort itself out. THEN it just crashes whenever I'm done and try to enter it.
The app is great and it works very well after the update, the games were very slow but when the update came, they were very playable, but there is a problem I noticed with some 2d platformers, and that's sprites that appear over the background when they aren't supposed to.
Great Saturn emulator. Needs further support as many games don't fully work yet but the best Saturn games do and play really well. Decent features, though they could be improved (controller mapping, touchscreen customization). I'm eager to see this evolve into the future.
Works great, I've always wanted to play Saturn games and now I finally can. Games are playing just as well as games play on PlayStation emulators except the save states aren't as reliable. I wouldn't take away a star for crumby save states because I believe we're fortunate to even be able to emulate the Saturn so well. Panzer Dragon Saga, Symphony of the Night, Shining Force 3 all play very well.
My man, you have done it! The emulation is fast, 60fps Sakura wars on a low end android tablet with 1gb on ram. I hope this keeps on developing further. Saturn emulation is getting more and more popular and this will be important for that. Thanks for your hard work. Even Retroarch can't compare to this.
Every update breaks something. An update after Christmas stopped the trigger buttons from being recognised on my physical pad. Now the latest update has botched the on screen keyboard. I use a dual screen as a joypad which can calibrate inputs to the onscreen gamepad, but this has now stopped calibrating with the latest update. Was a good app, now its unusable
I had little success using this emulator on a GPD XD+ android 7.1 gaming device. Most games were very glitchy (Daytona Championship Circuit, Clockwork Knight 2, Sonic R, Virtua Fighter 1/2), or wouldn't load past the initial start screen (Die Hard Arcade, Knights Into Dreams, Bug). Many of the ones that would load had control errors (Panzer Dragoon 1/2, Burning Rangers). The only games I tested that had a decent playable experience were Daytona USA, Sega Rally Championship, and Virtua Cop.
Tried this with Sonic Jam and runs perfectly, a few issues come from the controls though. With PS4 controller the analogue has some drift and with analogue turned on you cant stand still. With joy cons the emulator only recognises them as seperate contollers. This emulator is fantastic and is the best ive seen for a handheld device!
I got this game solely for playing albert odyssey. The Gameplay is alright, but a little slow. The quick save doesn't work. It crashes when you go back into your quick save. I've found a good way to adjust the graphics enough to where it will look good, plus work normally fast. Only thing is when you get into a battle in albert odyssey, the background has waves like the ocean waves, the command controls you can't see so you have to press buttons and guess what you do. Fix that issue plus give us a speedup button and I'll actually give this app the 5 star it deserves. For now it's sticking at 3.
