It was very useful.

Very disappointed this app is being shut down! I use this every day to see the top news stories. The UI is great, the app flows well, it's not cluttered with annoying ads, and the writing doesn't appear to have any political bias. It's way better than the Newsstand app they are pushing us to. That is too cluttered and there are tons of trolls commenting on every story. Please reconsider!

It's so sad to see this app go. To think that, just like that, Yahoo decided, "We'll no longer update this app," is an honest tragedy. I liked the easy synthesis of newswires like the AFP, the AP, and Reuters, so then I didn't have to overwhelm myself by cluttering my precious app storage space with multiple apps. I felt like this app was unique, as I have personally not encountered any app quite like it, with it's quick to read, but still informative and valuable, news I'm in full agreement with everyone who has said that Yahoo should seriously reconsider their decision! Yahoo absolutely should!

It's a shame Yahoo! decided to close down this app. I have used this app to become informed about national and international affairs for quite some time. I hope some other company, or Yahoo!, makes something similar, or better yet, something better. There are several resources I use to 'get the news' but this one was a 'special one' in my repertoire. Oh, well. P.S.: Rated 5/5 because of what it was not what it is.

Honestly very sad that this is going away and I'm not a fan of their "replacement". This app was so nice to give you a brief rundown of the news twice a day with a very clean, minimalist interface. I will truly miss this as I have yet to find another app like it.

very disappointed to see this this app end this is the only way I get my news. Newsroom is too disorganized for me. I like to be able to quickly look over a select number of major main stories and get out. I doubt I will ever use newsroom. I will go elsewhere to get my news. Keep this app up and running.

Been using this app for years, I am going to miss this app. Loved that twice a day I could check on news important to me. If I didn't have time to read I could scroll thru and still be informed on news around the globe at 6am and 5pm Truly going to miss my digest! Will not use their replacement! Too much garbage I don't want to see!

Closing this app is a big mistake! Fair and neutral quick news summary without loud, opinionated talking heads. I would definitely pay a small yearly subscription for this app. Please someone else make a daily summary news app without ads, fluff or yellow titles. I know there are millions of people that would subscribe.

SO upset that this app is quitting!!!! I look so forward to my am and pm news updates!! I get so excited to see the little circle of circles in my alert bar! It's easy to use, uncluttered and simple, I'm very bummed. I read the articles every day and love the links below to read further. Please reconsider deleting this app.

Highlights what's going on. Also gives breaking news. Love the quote of the day! Sometimes I share the quotes on my other social media sites.

Not started using this app a few months back and since then realised it wasn't getting updates and was slowly being abandoned. Good idea but not enough to be competitive with the big news appys.

Using it for 2yrs, for knowing top news. Great summarisation of news along with picture gallery, numbers, wiki info, and twitter talk from renowned people, but you people are now closing it. Not going to download any replacement Yahoo app after this. Dissappointed!

I've been using this app for years and am very disappointed to learn that it is being discontinued. I do not care for the Newsroom app Yahoo is steering us to from this app.

Yahoo had one good app and now that's coming to an end as well. Good job on disintegrating the company part by part.

It's sad to see one of the best news app go because yahoo wants to move to a different app completely, this is the only way I get my news.

Being from the UK we have a lot of general news apps. This one was different, unique and useful. Yahoo are a relative irrelevance in the UK. This decision confirms that the UK and its huge technical market are of 0 importance to Verizon.

When i try to open the app it says that there is no connection. Still doing this, never works anymore.

It's a pity this app is being discontinued, especially as Newsroom isn't available in the UK.

This was the best news app on Android for years, so sad to hear it is being discontinued.

Can't see why this app would stop doing what it does. Great tool for news. I use this every morning and every evening and it give me all the news I need and want. Fantastic

Keeps things clean and simple. There isn't always perfect spelling, and once in a while they might miss an important story, but for a free app it's fantastic.

I want this news app, not the recommended other, and would be willing to pay a one-time fee. I will not in any case use the other app.

I'm puzzled why Verizon/yahoo would finish off a popular app, to replace it with an app that's only available in the US.

I am disappointed this app ends soon. A comprehensive list of news compiled from multiple sources. This allows the reader to explore in-depth if so choose.
