What does this app even do besides take your email? I couldn't completely set up a keyring. Not even sure what that is. Opened the app again and I basically had to revoke it, but the screen just has a title bar. I can navigate or do anything. I was able to configure everything on the lock itself. I was hoping this app would allow me to reprogram the lock from my phone. Nope. Don't install until they the app actually does something.
Since 1 star is the lowest I could give. This app does not work. I attempted to set up account and did not receive a confirmation email. I selected resend and I get a pop up stating I'm not in the system. I attempted again and same thing. I tried to log on anyway with account I entered and app keeps crashing. I uninstalled it and installed it again. I have a Samsung 9+
Horrible! Tried several times getting this app to work on my Samsung S8, without any luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but still had no luck. Very disappointed as I spent quite a bit of $ on the lock via Amazon and was looking forward to setting this up on my phone. Hopefully Yale's app developers sort this out soon so I can get it to work. 😡
Have never been able to set up a key ring, it always errors out when adding the lock. Since day 1. I have periodically retried over the last 2 years with no change. But then apparently a key ring exists on my account now. I restore it to my phone and on next app load it says the keyring on my phone does not belong to my account. It is quite ridiculous... If not for having gotten the zwave version to use with my hub the lock would be utterly useless.
No other words for it: this app is AWEFUL. I have been using this app now for over a year (because there are no other options). New phone: "restore key ring" button does exactly nothing. Phone support is difficult to reach and unhelpful anyway. Keys randomly fail, and with zero company support, you have to buy extra just to maintain access to your locks. Oh, and the interface looks like it was designed when smartphones were just coming out. The app solution is so poor that I'm seriously considering spending $500 to switch my house over to a different system. 0-stars should be an option.
What a complete waste of money this lock. Refuses to pair with phone app or Smartthings, the Yale app completely fails to configure the security settings, can't add the lock and errors out on 4 different phones and two separate accounts. The only thing that does work consistently is the stupid video that plays (and you can't skip it) when you go to add a lock. Complete failure Yale. Oh and customer support can't be bothered to respond. DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK.
This app crashes every time I open it! Yale has really let us all down! I would be more descriptive of the issue however that's not possible since the app crashes, even though it says it will work with my device! There is no phone number listed for support, don't buy this lock! Take it back before you install it!
This app is terrible. After 20 attempts, unable to add a lock, always ends up saying a lock can't be added and try again later. This then delinks the mythical key ring that's apparently been created. The app then forces you to restore or revoke this mythical key ring attached to no lock (none able to be added)... both options don't work (revoke or restore) resulting in you needing to uninstall and reinstall the app to continue the loop above all over again. This app is so poorly programmed.
Trying to set up a digital key. It says to put in master code and then press gear. Then press 8. 8 never comes up as an option. The app is bogus. Would be nice to use smartwatch to open the door but getting frustrated.
The app is completely useless. It worked for a week and now will never connect to the lock. Even when it worked it wasn't good, thought it would be walk up and enter, but no. Complete junk.
App does not connect to my lock. Called customer support. Stated my problem and was greeted with 20 minutes of silence then told "nothing is wrong with the app, try again". I tried again for the 20th time with no success. He puts me on hold for 20 minutes and hangs up on me. I'm done. Horrible app. Horrible customer service.
The app used to work. I used to be able to use my samsung watch as well as phones to unlock via bluetooth. Now the app wont do anything at all to the lock. I can't even send pins to the lock from the phone let alone unlock the lock via the phone.
this app doesn't work, keeps saying a virtual key ring already exists, then prompts to revoke or transfer, neither works. contacted customer/technical support who said they cant do anything. Typical Assa Abloy. Would give zero stars if possible.
Great video instructions but they don't work. when you get to the point where you hit the gear button two times it only lets you do it once. Then it times out and you have to start over again.
Totally broken. My Yale Assure lock without the manual key was broken. I had to pay a locksmith to drill it out for $400. Yale sent me a new lock, but i can't register this lock with Bluetooth on this app. It keep syncing to my old broken lock. I delete the app, reinstalled, now when I sign in to my account it says I have an existing key ring that I need to revoke. I tried doing that but it just froze up. I created a new account using different email, tried to sync. it ends up in the same loop.
Really wish I'd read these reviews. The app literally does not function, at all. Will not connect, and my accoint has borked. Apparently I have a lost key associated with my account (whatever the hell that means), but I can't delete it because none of the buttons work.
Only used the app once or twice. The Bluetooth connection with the lock seems flawed. Have not been able to use the app to connect to the lock after. Have to manually set up my lock through the keypad on my lock.
Its day light robbery charging so much a product with a barely functional application. 3 different devices don't seem to be able to sync to the lock. Yale's customer support aren't too helpful either. Throughly disappointed
I was excited to get my Yale lock, way less so now. This has got to be the worst app interface ive seen. The app is completely useless. it hangs and tries to do something, and never errors out. i want to return my lock. Yale should Hire some decent app developers, I'd recommend any other lock before this one. I think scotch tape is more secure than this crappy lock...er app...same thing.
This is one sketchy app! I quickly uninstalled after having to sign off on pages of releases (which for all I know, I signed away my first born son) then, once in, it was running some God knows what scan on my phone. It looks like a 1st generation app right out of 2008.... super shady.
This App doesn't work ... it's flaky to say the least ... you need to fix it for android and also give for beller instructions ... the apple App works but this is Rubbish really not happy . If I could Give no stars I would . whats the point in a bluetooth lock that doesnt work with a Samsung note 9 ... twist and lock ?? Rubish
I have an ongoing problem with the app which generates error PIN0001 every single time I try and sync the mobile with the lock. I've been on to your support team and I'm getting no where. I was provided with instructions on how to manually remove all PINS but not single PINS. I also cannotbadd new PINS. This is a disgrace as I've been waiting since before Christmas and I cannot add or remove single PINS. The support is a disgrace & your lack of commitment to address this matter is disappointing
Unworkable app. Tried both Android and Ios version. Uninstalled. Waste of time. Paying extra for the Bluetooth lock was therefore a con without a workable App that could use it.
This app is TERRIBLE. I still haven't even figured out how it works because the interface is so ungodly terrible and unclear and then when I got a new phone my account won't transfer to the app on the new phone. Customer service told me to create a new account with a new email address.So what every time I get a new phone I have to create a new account for this app with a new email address? How many email addresses do they think I have? I love the way the lock works on its own but this app is bad
Delete this app make a new one that actually works I'm locked outside and I get a 90 second timeout every time I reinstall it tells me I have to get my keychain I try to get my keychain i press get key it says you need a keychain then I can't exit Literally 0 stars should be illegal
Broken and Unmaintained. Account setup was painful and time consuming already, but it crashes when you try to add a key, making it a waste of time as well. In case the devs are still alive but living in a cave, I am using android oreo on Samsung Note 8. Not whatever device you tested back in 2017, assuming it ever worked at all (only 3 reviews in your favor)
This app is beyond useless. It worked at one point, but even uninstalling and reinstalling the app now doesn't help. The interface is not intuitive and clumsy. There is no help or troubleshooting guide for connection issues with the lock anywhere. I would have given this app a negative star rating if it had been possible. Avoid Yale locks. The beauty is only skin deep here.
