Already one the best browsers in the entire store. Speed, navigation and acessibility are all great. The only real(as of early 2022) downside is the lack of options regarding extensions, otherwise this browser would be number 1. Update: nevermind the extension thing. You can install all chrome extensions, so dark reader and no script, both a must for me, work perfectly.
I love my yandex browser. I like the UI & the tableau where I can add my favourite apps, I can use add-ons to have a better add blocker or if it's just to add ghostery too either way it gives me options. If yandex sticks too blocking trackers sky is the limit 👌🏻 I'll continue too support yandex always 😍
I came a month later and now I see that the ability to disable zen has been disabled. I still have to find a background image with black at the top to hide the status bar.
@other frustrated users: you can retain your existing extensions through Yandex's breaking updates by backing up your /data/data/com.yandex.browser.alpha/app_chromium/default/ folder and then restoring that after an update removes your extensions and won't let you reinstall them. You may also need to restore ownership & permissions if doing this via ADB. Yandex is a 5-star browser scoring 1 star from me, for making me jump through these ridiculous hoops, just to retain existing functionality!
I really like your browser but i have been complaining about text size reduction in mobile version is not working and you have been bringing updates almost everyday and yet nothing was done too solve it so your app developer are not serious i will uninstall if this isn't fixed in next update
I really enjoyed it actually that you can change the background of the app while you're using it to your own photos but their selection is excellent
Settings for translation of Russian ads & pages don't work. Ads/vids playing and blocking screen content. Many app settings are for show and don't work.
Regarding asking me, a user, which Chrome Extensions no longer install from the Chrome Web Store.. Well, fckg all of them, if you devs would either (1) take a minute to actually alpha your product instead of this annoying thing of relying on negative reviews; or (2) just put we who have committed to your alpha testing into a silo where we can easily report stupid sht / bugs. I mean, otherwise why else allow users to level up from your beta browser into your "Alpha" one? Srsly confused.
I am very frustrated I downloaded this app so I could have extensions on my browser for my tablet. It let's me have them bur there is no toolbar or accessibility with buttons to access the extensions easily. Do I have to Go in to the menu to extensions to use it every time?I might as well delete this and just use chrome.
Wish the extension is on top on the menu as we use it so often, so no need to scroll down.. Also would be even better if we can configure or pin spesific extension directlyin the menu, like hide/unhide or what it called..
It has great feature and It's one of the few browser with auto translate but to make this my default browser I want a tabs folder like brave and chrome now do. This way I can group cirtain websites just to make easier to navigate.
The Best Browser For Smart TVs By Far. It's not even close, Yandex is the only full browser i'm found for a smart tv. If you install Chrome/Firefox or anything else, you get a tiny phone version of their browser. Yandex offers bookmarks, shortcuts, full Media ability. It's offers twice what any other browser. Almost zero crashing either, unlike the constant crashing of other TV Browsers. It's made in Russia, which made me nervous. But i haven't noticed any sketchy stuff yet and i've used it for 6+ months. Good job to Yandex Devs.
This is better than the original and beta versions, especially cause of being able to continue playing videos immediately while leaving the app to something else. I.e it doesn't require one to go full screen first. This would definitely be the best Android browser if it offered dark mode when viewing articles. Come on Yandex! You're holding me back from making this my system default browser.
Has good features but it needs improvement. Not all the items on the homepage are consistently labled. some links are clear and easy to understand where others are labled with "DESCR_..." the voice search feature doesn't work as it speaks another language and there could be a night mode with accessibility features in the accessibility section.
Overall best browser around, BUT: Yandex pushing completely grotesque features on this version, just ruining the experience with unnecessary clutter. Chat is just so ridiculously useless, I just don't get why they would keep pushing it. All social features are just unneeded gimmick. On the other end, vital features like bookmarks are lagging behind other browsers.
First time use this browser. Works better and like a charm especially on android box tv to watch movie online then any other browser! Even opera is useless. Opera, after for a while using it will suddenly fail to load movies. This is common problem on opera browser. Other browser lag a lot! Some mistake on video player itself. Lack option. But this browser is winning it, even it's ads block is the best of best! Can even block annoying lazada app that constantly reappear us in playstore!
Used to work great. Now is junk. CANNOT LOAD FEED no news feed at all.
The only reason i use this browser is the smart camera. Very accurate compared to google lens. But this app is for local russian people. Uh, that language...
I prefer the Dark Reader extension. It works great for making websites dark however it periodically turns itself off in Yandex. I'm constantly having to go to the extensions page and turn it back on. Can you please fix it so it will stay on until I turn it off? That would be awesome. 😁👍
Been using yandex in my laptop for a while, now it's my first time using it in my phone and I absolutely love it. I'm tired with chrome sub menu thingy that you can't even turn it off (for now). Won't go back to chrome anyway cause yandex is better at almost everything compared to chrome. I think a performance improvement will be nice because the browser is just a bit laggy. It's not ruining my experience tho. 10/10 would recommend to my friends 👍
I really like the new UI, also I appreciate the new search image button on the search bar for a quick access so I can instantly use the best reverse search engine in a second. Cool the new welcome screen for new users with a quick overview of the features. I'm really satisfied with the last yandex updates overall on their services.
It is a very good browser. But for users outside of Russia, it would be good if you removed Russian materials. No offense! Thank you!
Always a bright white flash appears when loading pages in forced dark mode. Very cumbersome for late night browsing. Please turn the initial content loading colour from white to black/gray like on Firefox Desktop or samsung Internet. After that the browser will be perfect. Edit : It happens while opening any page from the home page, when the browser is launched.
1) I have open in app checked and it still doesn't open the Amazon app I have to touch menu and tell it to open the Amazon app then I have to touch the Amazon app because it's showing the Amazon app or Vavldi browser. Now that is annoying. Need clear history, cache-data, cookies all separate on exit. Could easily be five stars if you fix these two issues. But please fix the opening app problem first that needs to be addressed.
I use this as my secondary browser. Works great even with 300+ tabs open. Edit: If they add Secure DNS option, I will give it 5 stars.
Yandex browser is the best out there. Other browsers have various positive aspects, but none combines them all together in a unified working model like Yandex. And it is really the only viable alternative to Google/Firefox/Safari products.
Very good! But needs more adblocking, possible AdBlockPlus intergration, And a dark/black theme for AMOLED devices. Also there does appear to be a bug with changing search engines from Yandex to Duckduckgo, as it doesn't seem to care what I choose and auto defaults to bing. Srsly do the Dark theme next update please! I love this browser, but Ill switch back to rocket browser if not cause thay white hurts my eyes, man!
Been browser jumping, and as I prepare to use DeX, or EMUI Desktop, I need a browser that supports extensions. And Yandex Browser does. Two suggestions I would recommend however: - custom search - clean tab slate on swipe (task manager, recent apps, running apps, etc it is called) close
This is an alpha version so you should Ideally update the chromium engine same as chrome canary.. Here it is running on v89 which is quite old. When playing any youtube videos, the notification panel is becoming slow kind of switching to 60hz Open in app feature is irritating.. It should directly open the link in the app instead of asking everytime to open in app or in yandex
Used this for two years with a Huawei. I was very happy with it especially the translation option. After 2 years I have quite a few bookmarks. Now, after a March 2002 update they are inaccesable. I can scroll over about a dozen and then the app hangs. I appreciate this is an alpha release app but this prob. needs fixing if it is going to continue to be any use at all.
