Yeelight

A bad app, I am currently looking for another one to replace it, if possible. Each time they release an update, it solves some issue but also bring some (huge) new ones! On their Forum, their are many people complaining and asking questions but their barely answer. The product seems good but this app makes it really tiring to use overall. Plus, there are some stuff which are weirdly made in the app: you can cannot make a personalised scenario for a group of bulb, you cannot have favourites which apply to several bulbs (doesn't make sense).

This app is not that bad despite that sometimes connection is not smooth - which is really annoying- and above all that my light changes colour for no reason at all. For example, I've got a nice white to work (I admit the features are quite cool) but it decides to turn pinky-ish and it's nerve-wracking.

Busted App. Only the basic functions work. Can't save favorites, can't set scenes, 100% of the time there are server issues. The color slider for setting custom colors is hot garbage, and snaps to preselected colors as soon as you take your finger off because the slider ends on the edge of the screen. Please replace this with a color wheel. It's impossible to get orange. I can either slide to red, or a pale yellowish tan color that is DEFINITELY NOT ORANGE!

Taking damn long to load the app. Didn't use to have such a long waiting time. I have no idea what kinda updates they have made to take so long to start up the app, previously starts up quite fast, like probably less than 15 or 10 seconds, now I just load the app, throw one side, check back again in like 2-3 minutes, cuz meantime the app will lag the whole phone. I really think the long waiting time is ridiculous, please fix this

Updated and lost all my favorite colors / custom profiles, and trying to save new ones says "failed to save" which is really aggravating. And this app leaves much to be desired. Like having a favorite color widget so I don't have to keep opening the app to access the colors I wasn't. And the ability to reduce the brightness even more than the software allows.

Well, not sure if 2 stars would be better. Yes it can turn on/off the lamp and the preset things work. But when i open the app and try to apply my favorites they are empty. When i create a favorite i suddenly see the others. Also having backlight only (without front light - not possible, even when saved with 0 front, when applied it has light (Yeelight Scren Light Bar)

Completely unreliable. It's a hell with this app. It really work. I did the mistake to use the Xiaomi lights all over my apartment, I have 11 bulbs - the bulbs randomly stops to work with the app, I need to restart them and connect them again with the app. It will work for a week and then they will stop. It's a mess, I will never recommend this.

All my saved scenes are gone and when I try to create a new one it says "Failed to save." The home screen widgets only work if the app is already open and running in the background. The app itself has a really bizarre user interface that is not intuitive at all

The bulb disconnected, but attempting to reconnect is pointless and frustrating. At some point i had to make an account because facebook login was no longer supported. Probably better off wit nanoleaf lamp

Requires a phone number or won't allow you to login. Then the app constantly crashes and lights won't change color. Don't buy these whatever you do.

Terrible experience, took hours for my bulbs to finally get added, it would just fail for no reason, but now the scenes feature doesn't work, I get a server error message, the color picker for both color and white balance is bad, and the app doesn't remember the white balance I picked, I tried submitting feedback but got an error as well, nothing seems to work properly, the bulbs also have a greenish tint when set warmer, they're less bright than 60w equivalent bulbs, I regret my purchase

UX and UI can be improved. Very good at connectivity. Sometimes widgets fail to start/stop light.

While the app is very easy to use and UI design is simple yet extensive, connection to servers is recently very unreliable. I usually find myself unable to access my favorite settings due to unreachable server status resulting to me just using google home instead. If this continues, this makes this app redundant.

The app was working well until last update. Now it refuses to load for few minutes, don't get random bulbs, auto turn on rooms. This makes the bulbs pretty useless too.

Im using hotspot instead of wifi to use the app, but it only can connect from the exact hotspot Ive connected the 1st time if change to another hotspot the app shows light is offline. How can I fix this?

whattt.......!!!! in the new update lan control is missing, very very disappointing, recieve the product on april 17, 2022, only for buy this lamp for RAZER CHROMA CONNECT to sync Apex Legends, but the main problem lan control which is not available

No longer able to connect to Google Home. I did the mistake of disconnecting in an attempt to reconnect and now it just keeps saying "try again"

It needs better share management functions. Such as ability to pause/freeze device sharing with individuals

Scene homescreen shortcuts stopped working in the latest update 🙄 Edit. Now it seems to be working again.

I dont you should need to create an account just to customize a lamp... Resetting the lamp was hard and just gave up in the end.

Every update logs you out. Great to discover this at 5.30am when you're trying to turn off a light while half asleep

Worked fine at the beginning, then stopped working tried everything always same error, connection time out. Tried online solution never works. Tried different accounts, devices and network same error.

Annoying having to sign up for an account, and suddenly there was a breaking change today (worked fine this morning) where I have zero control over the light. Opened the app and it signed me out apparently. No idea what the password is and I'm just trying to turn the light off to go to sleep. Not a good experience if the remote control of lights is appealing to any potential buyers.

The app is no longer able to connect to the bulb. Not a very good app, I would avoid

With the new update "music flow" option was removed for smart bulbs... Only reason I used the app over Google Home.

Now that the main functionality has been restored after I got locked out entierly, I can give the app a proper review. Overall the functionality I need is there and I'm fairly satisfied. I don't use any voice integration, so I can't comment on that front. However, I do have a few suggestions to improve the usefulness of the app. 1. It would be nice if the device view allowed users to sort their devices manually instead of being left in the order they were added to the app. Sure, I can group devices into rooms, but if I want to control the lights in a different room, I have to switch between rooms, so I like to stay on the global device overview and just turn on individual lights from there. That's why I'd like to group devices in the same room together there as well manually. 2. Bulk time management is not possible as of right now. Setting timers has to be done on a device-by-device basis. Would be nice if theses things could be collected or shared between devices easily. 3. The color picker could use a numeric input so you can choose a precise color. It already shows the numeric values in the saved favorites, but there's no way to manually input them. Same thing with the color temperature if you're only intending to use white light. 4. Some of my bulbs have a tendency to show up as offline sometimes. It's nothing major, just cut and reinstate power to the device and it usually gets picked up in seconds. But it's still a bit of an annoyance. 5. I'd like more features of the regular RGB-Bulb to be made available for the colored ambient light of the Crystal Pendant lamp. As of right now, it seems rather limited. For example, when I create a scene and add the Crystal Pendant lamp to it, I can only set up the main white light in terms of color warmth and brightness, but I can't set a preferred color or brightness for the upward facing ambient lights. Seems like a rather glaring omission to me.

Resetting a Lightstrip with this app and trying to link it again took far too long, and I am not new to smart home devices. The connection process is unreliable. The strangest issue was that it wouldn't show my wifi network as a connection option for the light unless I disconnected from it with my phone. It seems to struggle with networks where both 2.4 and 5 GHz have the same SSID, which is quite common. It's fine when it's set up and nothing goes wrong.

Its good when it works. My yeelight frequently disconnects and i have to turn it on and off again. No function for light to automatically turn off when sunrise? Also very hard to link to google home. Tried too many times with error. Also error updating the light bulb. Edit: Thanks for the info. Indeed the server was having an issue. Manage to relink and update the next day. Hope to see if you could add function that turn on or off lights based on the time?
