Yellowstone Geysers

Requiring a network connection to do anything makes it pretty much useless for tourists. There are far better unofficial apps out there that have details on all the geysers rather than the handful that this one has. They also tell you the eruption frequency and duration without going online and only need network for up to the minute predictions. As usual the NPS prove themselves utterly useless.

It is useful if I can get a network connection during the day at Old Faithful. Would be more useful if it cached the predictions for use offline like the Geyser Times app does. Now after the NPS updated the webcam feeds the webcam does not work in this app. Also if the Old Faithful Visitor Center is closed you are out of luck for any new predictions. Permissions are weird also.

There already are Yellowstone Geyser apps out there, Geyser Times and Geyser Notebook. Here are two things I don't like about this NPS App. The Geyser Webcam does not work for me. It shows a scene of Old Faithful in the summer and there is snow there right now. And on the web you can see a static Old Faithful web cam, and a streaming web cam of the Upper Geyser basin which is really cool. No such functionality on this App. Also for the Great Fountain geyser it has no prediction and says Data Connection Required. Well I'm wi-fi connected to a fast Comcast connection. So that is not working, and I've tried multiple days. This App needs some work.

Worked well for a while, now just keeps saying I need to connect to a network even when I am. Can't find any related settings. BTW,how would it cache predicted eruption times? Aren't those done based on the time of the last eruption? Seems after one or 2 eruptions they could be pretty inaccurate?

You have to have WiFi to run the app. There is hardly any WiFi in the park; spotty at best at a few of the visitor centers

Even more than the handyness of this app, I love the simple design and unique functions it has. I think Yellowstone is awesome and this app makes the experience even better.

Web cam useless. I uninstalled and reinstalled no luck. Please fix.

Pretty pictures but marginally functional. Data bandwidth in the Old Faithful area is insufficient in busy times which will limit this apps capabilities.

I loved this app...enjoyed watching the old faithful on webcam. Since the NPS upgraded their webcam, this app is useless. Cant view the webcam any longer....can't get eruption predictions. Please fix it!

Preforms very poorly on a bad connection that is common in Yellowstone, if you try refreshing with no connection/ failing connection all predictions are cleared. Also does not provide as many predictions as the Geyser Times app does.

Can't see my internet connection.

This is a great app for use in the park and also just to learn about geysers.

Does not work most off the time!

Keeps saying 'data connection required' even though I'm connected. I've tried using my cellular service as well as wifi. Still nothing.

Yellowstone has zero cell phone service, so this app doesn't work at all. If they ever get cell service, it may work, but not for now.

I thought this was ah Yellowstone app. So much more to see. Love the geysers but love the whole park. North to south. Easy and west. All points in between.

SO DISAPPOINTING..... WEBCAM DOESN'T WORK.... please fix it asap.... does anyone else know where i can get a LIVE STREAMING of Old Faithful... i wonder whether they even care we can't watch via mobile....
