Edit: the panel below the video viewer is very bright. Maybe make an option for "night", and make it black? Worked perfectly, at first. Now, when I click on it, it takes a very long time to load and I have to restart the app. I am also getting a "network unavailable" message a lot. Which is odd, because my wifi is connected and everything else works perfectly fine.
For whatever reason, this app has become so buggy it's difficult to get working again. This used to open up and just work with my camera, but now whenever I open the app and select my camera, it stays on "connecting" until I press back and click on the camera again. It'll load and the app will simply stop responding. After about 30s - 1min, I get to choose whether to choose the app or wait. I can choose wait and it'll show the camera feed after another 30s. What happened to this great app?
This app has been working absolutely fine (I use live feed only, no playback features) until I've updated to the latest version. Now when I try to connect the app with the camera, I get an error message (code 3006) telling me that I need to check the power of the camera or the network. I've checked and double checked, no issues with power or my network and I've spent almost 3 hours messing around with deleting and setting the cam up, but to no avail. I would advise you avoid!!
The cameras themselves are good but the app and PC program are garbage. We've been trying to use our cameras and installing / uninstalling the app and reboots. The usual troubleshooting for a year and got nowhere but a migraine. It can take up to a minute for a camera to load. Obviously if you need to see something quickly that's a problem. Then once you've connected it's hard to get out. Every update released never fixes anything. Bad customer service. Mercury innovations is much better.
App worked fine after it was redesigned and Kami Cloud was added some time ago, even though it wasn't as good as the original app, but now I'm constantly having problems with the app giving me a black screen after putting in my passcode to view a camera. When this happens, it doesn't allow me to even push my home button on my phone. I have to go into settings, stop the app, clear the cache and restart the app in order to get it to work. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Was great when I first purchased so much so that I purchased a second camera for the patio. Then slowly but surely the available clips got shorter, spotty and now only saved / available for 1 day It is no longer reliable and I have doubts that the reliability etc. will change with a subscription. I am aware of the cool off periods, and different settings so the glitches have nothing to do with the settings I have the cameras set at.
Very slow to load rather you are on wifi or using data. Sometimes will not load at all. Was ok-ish at first but this last "upgrade" really took the rating and usability out of this entire system. When I switch my cameras from Home Mode to Away Mode 2 out of the 4 will never alert. The other 2 will alert for every leaf falling wind blowing shadows moving and bugs flying by. Sound quality is terrible. Hate it. Don't recommend it if you are using it for home security.
Edit : please move the data warning or make it easier to close. It sits right on top of video controls/window size controls!! . Edit... The person detection is terrible. Lights on a window, leafs in the wind, and cats all reported as people. More features should be available without subscription. Even using your own SD card is difficult and basic.
Connecting...5%. It's ALMOST impossible to use this app from how broken it is. The cameras rarely load. I'm talking, try all 4 cameras multiple times, close and re-open and update the app, restart the phone, hoping to get it to show the camera feed this time. Works less than 10% of the time. The rest, you could sit there at connecting...5% for 20 minutes straight and it would never load.
Every time there is a update it becomes worse. Some of my cameras don't even load anymore & the ones that do take forever to load even with an excellent connection. Regularly I try to open a camera & it totally freezes up & my phone is frozen & then I get a message saying that it isn't responding & have to close the app. It's become completely unreliable & I am definitely going to look for a new system.
Found out I had paid for a year. I don't know why the cloud was cut off the day I complained but it's fixed now. However, I tried out the pin and fingerprint protection, which is great, but not when you have to remove the pin protection for each camera and put it back on every time you change to away mode. It should be able to be done once and stay.
Initially the program with was very good but they removed the ability to be able to use this app on a tablet, it is only available on a smartphone or PC. I was able to see a lot more on the tablet than the small screen of the smartphone. Therefore I would never recommend these cameras to anyone. I would look elsewhere for other cameras. There are cameras that have color night vision and a wider field of view that are less expensive and can be used on a tablet, phone or pc than the YI cameras.
Very buggy. Very slow. "Person detection" is simply the most basic motion detection, all my cameras send me false alerts all day long. Absolutely useless. IR light mode doesn't work, as soon as the camera turns on the light, it overexposes itself and turns it back off. Avoid kami cameras unless you need them for the most basic of uses.
"video download failed switch to cameron automatically" I'm starting to fear that all the negative reviews I looked past on Amazon are becoming true. After the last update I can't view anything that was recorded and I have a six second clip where someone was walking out of my backyard and I cannot see any other footage and it's extremely frustrating.
It's pretty bogus that they made it that even with an SD card in the cameras, it will only record 6 seconds each time it detects motion. Previously, it would fill up the card and you could at least get recent footage from the past week in much longer clips. They changed how they worked after I bought 3, it's such a joke. Switching to Google Nest Aware. Cameras may cost more up front but they are nicer and the subscription (that's now required) is cheaper and more functional.
the cameras themselves work fine, one in particular is a few years old and is still going strong. the issue is the app itself. it won't let me set the parameters, keeps telling me to load the live view but it will not let me follow through with the action. I have tried to correct the issue as stated in the documentation but it never works. hence the 3 stars.
Much better than what you think. Very easy to connect to WiFi and the app on your phone and also the app on your laptop/pc. My only gripe is that the cloud service is quite expensive. You have the option of saving locally and also the option to save on an SD Card. I am using 128Gb SD cards and it works and saves perfectly. The cloud service needs to be cheaper, especially since Google drive (cloud) is much cheaper to store data, as well as other cloud storage platforms. Great image quality.
