Something is wrong with the app, if you try to watch past alerts with an SD you can only watch them if they are 1 day old. The app wont let you view them before then. Also the ir got stuck turned on and theres no way to turn it off with this app you need the "yi home" app to adjust the night vision, even if i use the other app to turn off the ir it doesnt work. I dont know why we need 2 apps just to get full function of the cams on android. Welp now the app just keeps crashing, wont even load.
The app seems to work well and if intuitive for the most part. The UI is nice. My biggest concern is that I'm not able to customize my alerts the way I would like. I want it to be active overnight from 9p to 7a but it says that's not supportive. That doesn't make sense. Needs to be addressed. Update 2 years late the camera works fine. The app is unreasonably bad. I'm trying to review recorded footage from the SD card and it won't allow me to properly select the recorded block. Not reliable!
The app will NOT pair to camera. I've deleted and re-download the app a half dozen or more times. I've reset the camera a dozen or more times. I've reset my router, made sure the camera and phone are both connected to 2.4 G wifi. Now I'm waiting for an email from the company or a message on Amazon. Ready to send it back and buy another brand, one NOT made in China!
Can not control cameras in any way using Google hub. Constantly says "cannot sync yi iot camera". Cameras constantly lose connection and take up to 5 mins to reconnect. Each update seems to remove features so they get more basic with each update. Removed ability to adjust by decibels and replaced with low, med and high slider. Simply renamed "sd and HD" to "HD and FHD" . Better systems out there. This is not one of them. Beyond useless now. Unfit for purpose. Avoid.
Nothing has recorded and uploaded to my cloud in over a week. This has happened many times since months ago. Literally nothing has been recorded. There is plenty of movement where the camera is pointed for it to record something, but it records nothing at all. I feel helpless to leave this review because I will not get refunded and no one seems to reply to address your concerns.
Why is it no longer sending push notifications of movement? If you go into the app the motions have been detected! POINTLESS NOW! I even uninstalled and reinstalled it and it's still not working. Get it fixed! You literally wrecked the whole point of having the camera!!!
The application works great, I only wish invited guests could log in using their fingerprints instead of having to type in the passcode every time. One star because the app won't work without being connected to the internet; I'll get rid of it as soon as I get some better cameras that don't require internet access to function, since it's communicating with unknown servers and I have no idea who may be watching my kids. If you need this app, return the camera(s) and look at PoE IP cameras.
Keeps saying no SD card when I do have one. I even bought new ones. With the new update this just randomly happened. I know it isn't a card issue because once in a great while I can see a recorded video but it plays the same one no matter what video time I attempt to see that day. Oddly, if there is a sound triggered video I see those just fine. I am not happy at all and given the recent reviews, I am not the only one with this same issue. We all are having the same issues.
Still, as of the latest update: I can only play back the latest clip or a clip from midday. If I try viewing any other clip it jumps to the midday clip. Pretty terrible.
I paid for a full year subscription for 2 different cameras and I consistently getting charges weekly some at $15 or more and on top of that the cloud doesn't ever save videos even with the subscription paid, I might as well just cancel and try another brand because more then $200 for subscriptions a month, and still don't have a good security camera system, Im not happy what so ever I literally had this about 6 months so do the math, the app stops working alot cant view cameras during that time
The new updates have broken the ability to view/download the 6 second video clips. Contacted the developer but to date has not answered. I believe it is a ploy to get you to subscribe to the cloud at great expense. ATM, the app is not fit for purpose.
It's a good application. I haven't had problems using it for the last 3 months now. Smart detection works well. Cameras have good night vision. Microphone on camera could be better but works well.
Is someone else watching? When I first got it it worked great and its been a good 5 years now but recently the camera would swivel and scan the room or the camera shutters would go off several times as if taking pictures! Very strange I would also get lots of motion alerts but when I looked at my alerts there either wasn't any to watch or they were not available for me to see unless I paid for the additional cloud? Creeped me out so I unplugged it. Not recieved any alerts since! Followed me once
Very temperamental, always saying no more videos for today but clearly there is..., app worked well for a few months but very glitchy, even with good Internet connection. Easy enough to install, but not reliable.
I was having the same issue with playback going back to the same spot with and SD card. Finally I clear the Cache in the app data settings and it's back to working! Hope that helps everyone. *****updated again*** I figure out that the playback option does work....however, you need to flip the phone to view playback horizontal. 😅😁 Hope that helps!
This app has recently started displaying an HMS Core (Huawei) update error code 102 on every launch, suggesting HMS Core is an older version and unable to update. But HMS Core is definitely updated to the latest version and running without issues, and no other app mis-identifies the situation in this way. This is getting really annoying - what's going on here??
Was working fine until the latest app update. Was planning to buy a 2nd one and get cloud subscription...Now I cannot add the camera to the app as the pairing is timed out although the camera does connect to the wifi! Tried every hint that the troubleshooting recommends yet the outcome is still the same.
It is clunky but I'm not having as many issues as most. I had to use an older lower capacity card and then all worked. I have to reboot every month or so to get notifications back to how the should be. Main issue is that the app crashes 20+ times a day on Android and OS complains that it's using too many resources.
Most recent updates have stopped my cameras from saving any clips from motion triggers so I can't even watch the 6 seconds I used to get! It just says "no sd card". This has rendered them pretty much useless. I definitely don't recommend this company.
My live thumbnail camera is not working at home screen and alerts page anymore. When I want to see the alert notif, the video always notice fail to dowload the video. My camera, wifi connection and sdcard is working properly. Please make an update like before, where everything is normal as usual. And the last, please add timestamp.
The app works quite well. It took some time to set it up properly. But after I set it like I wanted it, it will save alerts sometimes. But at times it skips them, I might have to work a little more to get it set just right. Overall I give 5 stars
App plagued with bugs: - buttons on the physical notch: bad android integration - 6 seconds videos are 3seconds of 2x speed video + 3 seconds of a still frame (replay bug) - UI bloated with cloud feature ads. (product manager decision that ruins the product?) - zoom (pinch) on fullscreen video actually moves the camera (1 input -> 2 actions) - camera physically reboots (which plays a loud sound) occasionally when app is closed or reoriented. (Great to quickly wake up a child)
