YNAB Classic

Stick with classic if at all possible. Monthly subscription version has "updates" that classic users won't like, in addition to having a monthly fee. There is no more support for this version, supposedly, but there have been subtle changes lately that make me worry it's going to suddenly stop working someday. Until then, I'm very happy.

Great app, happily pay for apps, but the monthly annual cost of the new version is prohibitive and not justified, particularly given its limitations outside the US. Sadly the inability sync with Android devices makes this unusable for so I'll be looking for a replacement. Barely 3 stars.

Love ynab4. Dropbox sync stopped working with android updates, but sync still works with WiFi sync. Just save your ynab file to your computer, disable cloud sync, and after restarting the program just re-open your ynab file and you should be able to go to File>Wi-Fi sync with Mobile Device... a bit more work, but works a charm 😊

Works well when paired with the computer app and Dropbox. Unable to edit a budget in the app as far as I can tell which is the only issue I've run into. They probably won't update this anytime soon but it still works for the non-subscription licenses.

Been with YNAB since it was a spreadsheet. Just wish I still had a copy of that. Classic(4) is great. The new is garbage, costly and they are not at all loyal to old followers that funded their beginnings, sadly.

Have finally started using this after having had it for years and it has made everything so much clearer. I now even enjoy being as rigorous as I can be when making my budget. It has helped me be conscious as well as cautious about my spending habits.

Great software, fasts kept in Dropbox, much beter than the need version.

Desktop has more issues than mobile actually. Otherwise decent budget software

Apparently broken now. Won't sync via Dropbox for some reason. Have done every trouble shoot imaginable. Even went nuclear and started off completely fresh. Nada. I want to be paranoid and say that it was intentional to get us to go over to their subscription service but it seems like a lot of others are still able to enjoy this mobile companion app 😔

So far the new update seems nicer than, before, it'll take a bit of getting used to but I think it's a step in the right direction! However, I do agree with some of the other comments which mention that it now takes too long to add a transaction. This should be nice and simple, with less steps and 'fancy' transitions between the steps. Good work apart from that though!

I love this app as an on-the-go sidekick to YNAB on my desktop. It's not as complete as the desktop version, but still ensures I can keep my transactions updated instead of waiting to go home and enter them all in. I would like to say, "thank you" to the developers for continuing to support YNAB classic passed 2016. It's a breath of fresh air when a developer doesn't brick old versions of an app to force customers to purchase the newest version or subscription service.

The desktop software is by far the best personal budgeting tool I have used, and I've used them all. This companion app just completes it perfectly and makes adding transactions on the go a breeze. The GPS functionality is a sweet touch making everything alot faster to input. Only reason for a 4 star is that on my Nexus 4 I need to hit backspace before entering the amount or it will glitch and enter a long number. Update: after years of using this software, it's still the best out there.

Thanks for the dropbox update! I won't switch to a new version until you start respecting your customers' privacy again, so thanks for keeping Classic alive a bit longer. I'd be happy to pay a regular maintenance fee to keep Classic going rather than switch, if that's what it takes.

Well it looks like this App is about to be discontinued. Privacy is being thrown out the window. Tech has gone too far. We cant continue with YNAB if this is the future. We are so time-poor that YNAB itself has become a burden, so now that classic is going, so will we. More than ever technology that should be open enough to keep private options possible are railroading us to cloud solutions that are unsafe, dictatorial and potentially exploitive. That is a generalisation, not YNAB specific.

Im trying to get off debt and i have to pay 6 dollard a month for thid. And in top of that i need a computer to make ot work. I cant only used my phone or tablet, so if you dont have a computer this app does work

As of 20220415, right when you really need it to work, they seem to have broken the sync feature between mobile and pc app. Boooo. I'm bummed. I wonder if they're trying to force people to the subscription version.

Though I dislike the new version's SaaS model, I have to give these guys props for updating a legacy app to work with the new Dropbox API
