The material and overall learning methods are good, and $5 is an incredible prce for them. The critical issue is that there's no spaced repetition system, and so there's no real help with retaining the information. Another issue is that quizzes are done per-category instead of encompassing all of what you've learned, although that's a minor issue.
Am really enjoying and finding this app effective, but the update has apparently not helped at all for my Samsung Galaxy device, and not only is it crashing when I try to download the voices, it complains that my volume is too low, and I can't turn on or off the sound settings or quiz options. It doesn't even register that I've attempted to click on it.
Can you please add "tap to reveal choises" in settings. Without it I have to hide bottom of my screen with my fingers to not see them. I miss it so much because I'm used to it from other apps on the market. Also, progression mode algorithm could be improved. When I have like 70% of green, 20% orange and 10% red, it starts to be really annoying when app gives me same green characters and zero red. Thank you very much in advance. Ps: even after an update app crashes when trying to download voices.
I love this app. I really do. And on my previous Galaxy J7 it worked seamlessly, but on my new Note FE it keeps crashing whenever I try to download the audio files with every vocab set. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but the problem still persists. Would love a fix before I buy the full version! (I'm using Android 9.)
I liked the system. It's encouraging me to study because of the ease and convenience. The system is easy to access, customizable, and straight to the point. I have the full version and it's worth it because this is where more types of quizzes are unlocked (for more familiarity with the meanings of the words than just how to read them).
I like this app. Learning kanji in words and sample sentences is really useful. There is one thing I do not however. I have used the practice progressively function for a few weeks now, but I am not getting many new words, maybe one every few days. While when I started with it, I had a lot of new words and I got so many new words every day too. It should be the opposite way I think...
Firstly Great app! Keep up the good work! I would like to report a bug. When practicing N3 vocabulary, there is a sentence '包む必要はありません'. For this sentence, audio says つつむ but when I write it it marks it wrong. On clicking show answer, it shows くるむ. Hope it helps you find another bugs like this.
I'm, honestly, really impressed with this app. After downloading and trying it out I pretty much became immediately addicted and saw results. I just bought the paid version (which I never do) not because I needed the locked content (although there's REALLY good stuff in there) but just because I wanted to support the project. 100% love this app. 💜
Crashes every time I attempt to download the voice files. I even payed for the app. Hope this is fixed soon so I can give it 5 stars again. Disappointed that after half a year there is no word or update to resolve the issue of voice download crashing the app.
Great app!!! Only problem is i can't get the voice to work. It says to either install google text to speech (although i already have it installed), or to download voice pack that crushes the app. Hope it will be fixed soon.
Good app to start working on Kanji and practical/sentences structure! Unlocking/buying the full version isn't a bad price either, and allows you to mix things up (that really helped me in my learning!) Would definitely recommend
Downloading the voice packs continues to be an issue for certain devices, including my Samsung Galaxy a10e. Save for this glaring flaw, it is otherwise a great app for vocabulary practice.
I think that it's a great app for practicing and learning, the only thing is that it crashing everytime I try to download the sound file, please fix And it would be a great
Would give a 5 star review of in the in app voice worked but it consistently crashes. Otherwise great app, just missing a vital component in the speech.
I have a habit of daily practise on this amazing app. Since last update there has been a bug where the app force closes whenever I tap to view any kanji. Please fix it and id be happy to change to 5* (Fixed:)
I really like this app's quiz variety however, it crashes whenever I try to download voices despite clearing the cache and permitting storage access. Please fix it. - Honor Play
This app is really useful for reviewing and learning vocabulary, I think it would be even better if it were possible to have the whole sentence read out after writing the correct answer.
Really nice, however I'd appreciate if the app read the whole sentence after an answer so I didn't have to press the audio button before the answer that just straight up tells you the answer 😅
[Bug] The app crashes on Katakana and Kanji sessions when session length is set to infinite. Otherwise, great app, one stop shop for me.
One of the most helpful and well constructed study tools I've had the priviledge to learn with. No matter your level of proficiency, do not pass this up.
Yomikata does not know Joyo =-( . Yomikata focuses on learning Kanji vocabulary through breaking down vocabulary requirements using the JLPT levels. It surpasses Benkyo in vocabulary study, falls behind TangoRisto in reading study, and lacks breakdown visuals to the most basic radicals of all Kanji like Asahi and Scribe Origins which is the easiest method to memorize swathes of individual characters. Where Yomikata comes in after Scribe Origins and Asahi, probably during study with TangoRisto
It's a great app for learning Kanji but it crashes whenever I try to download the voice pack. Please fix this error.
It's a pretty good app. But the backup and restore progress feature of the app haven't been working for a long time now. Other than that I don't have any issues with it.
App crashes when I try to download the voices package. App won't even detect Google text to speech app.
App is still closing and failing while trying to download audio files on Android Pie. Still no resolution on this?
This would be a perfect app, if only the content was updated much more regularly. But don't get me wrong, this is a great app, and the in-app purchase is totally worth it.
This app needs a feature to easily split the sections up, similar to how the Kanji Study app handles large lists. Also, it takes too long to get to the red words. The "quick" progression is extremely slow and needs to be improved. After the first 30 words or so, the quizzes rarely display a new word, even if the answers were correct. Other than that, the app seems okay so far, at least for N5. EDIT: The dev has released all features and made this open source.
