Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network.
++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style DC outlet car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle.

This app incredible. It's like having a tour guide in your vehicle. Besides telling you the history and stories for various areas in the park, the narrator also helps you make choices about where to stop and tells you how much time you should expect to spend in certain areas. I wish I had known about this app when I had visited other national parks. Well worth the money!
if I could give this six stars, I would. We stayed in mammoth lakes for our Yosemite trip, which meant driving the Tioga road every morning. The first day we had no idea what we were seeing, but after installing this app, not only did we learn what everything was, but it also suggested places to stop that we would have otherwise passed by. Plus the stories taught us about the history of the park. Can't recommend this enough.
Best information about not only the park, but tips and history too...We loved it, was like a paid guide that you could pause, and start right back up, when ready. Worked great even without a cell signal....loved it, a must have on your vacation list!!
Definitely worth the cost. Amounts to an audio tour of the park. Would be nice if it would remember what it already told you in just the last few days.

I paid and installed this junky software. It never worked. Always saying "Unfortunately,Yosemite has stopped. _Report _Ok.". I reported and no one responded. Since I held my last hope that it could work when arriving the park, I did not uninstall it and request refund immediately. After I came back from Yosemite, it still showed the same error. Yet, Google's refund policy is purely nonsense,which won't allow me to request the refund after just 4 days through the Google platform. What a great Google!???????????? This is absolutely none of the money business. It is only about the consumer's experience and respect what we deserve. Yet, the Google's policy just pissed off it by a few ridiculous statement.
Saw the reviews about version 2.2 but current version is 2.3 and app worked great for us. Loved the stories and the recommendations about where to stop. Made our trip more interesting and would have missed a few places without it. Will definitely be looking for more gypsy guides for other places we travel to.
Great introduction to the park. We liked that we were given traffic warnings and interesting facts along the way. No issues at all, app worked great. Worth it vs going on a paid tour.
My cousin suggested this app for our trip to Yosemite. We have been 3 times, but haven't been in about 5 years so I decided to buy it. We absolutely LOVED it! Not only did we experience new adventures we didn't know about but it was so helpful with directions around the park. We thoroughly enjoyed all the history and stories it told as we drove around and it made our already wonderful experience even more magical. We plan to use this for all future adventures when available!
