Very user friendly and intuitive. Sometimes the translation doesn't seem like native language, but gets the right meaning and context every time. I'm sure this app will improve through deep-learning & greater usage. I look forward to more downloadable language packets.
Been using this app for more than 4 years. What happened with the last update??? I keep sending reports, but I guess I'm just wasting my time.. was a five star app, now it doesn't even run, just opens and shuts down after 5-6 seconds. Repair the app, it's amazing
This is very useful application, specially the function of screen translator. However recently there is problem with this application which close suddenly after opening the app..I try to uninstall and install it again and again and the problem still is the same. I thought this is my phone problem but after reading the comments I noticed this is the application problem and unfortunately the developer doing nothing to fix it. So at moment this application is useless unless the developer fix it.
It is veeeeery good app. Especially it has a pop-up ball with the help of which we can translate any text without going through the tough exercise of first copying the text and then pasting in the other translator app. It would be much more convenient app if it also come with hunz+pinyin. I will give it five stars. Its really a very good app.
Translations between English / Chinese are quite accurate, but the app is a bit complicated to use, not very intuitive ui. I'd like to see you team up with Wechat though. They have the worst Chinese / English translations engine on planet earth. My suggestion to you to get some business going.
its a great app and I recommend, but some translations can be a bit wonky, and if I don't use the app directly, I can't copy paste. Detect language also translates everything into Chinese for some reason and picture doesn't work that well. But overall, amazing app
This is by far better than Google, for a tiny app. I really like the effort to even provide translation offline. I only wish that translation could be longer and that I would not have to keep pressing for translate. It would be nice to just start translator by locking a key, until we are done.
I liked the old name of this app (YouDao) more than the new one, but more importantly, as the app underwent updates, its offline translation feature got ruined. Yes, you can download packages for various linguistic pairings, but THE APP WON'T TRANSLATE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU'RE ONLINE. Ever since this became an issue, I reported it to the company, only to be ignored and for the problem to persist. That having been said, use something like Google Translate for actual offline translation.
This is a very popular and useful app in China. The natives like it's translation much more than Google Translate. I've used it there a lot. Now it crashes and won't even open. If they don't fix it soon then I'll have to change my stars rating.
It used to work perfectly fine with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Android 9. But ever since I updated my OS to Android 10. It doesn't open and keeps on closing. Please update it as this is the only translation application that works like a charm.
I was using this app until i received a software update on my oppo phone. Now i can't open the app. Whenever i tap on the icon, the app will appear to be opening. After about 5 seconds, it just closes. The software update is rubbish, a lot of useless apps from google was added which i cannot uninstall. Is this a marketing strategy from google?
This is one of my favorite and daily use apps. It used to work fine on my Samsung phone running on Android 9. However it stopped to work after my phone OS upgraded to Android 10. Do hope the problem could be fixed pretty soon.
The best app to have when living in China. Voice translations that help you on a daily basis when communicating on the street, photo translations when taking a pic and the app just translates it in a language you understand and the most common writing translations that every basic translation app nowadays do. Love it!
The best translator for me. I use it in China. But recently it stopped working. I reinstalled it several times, all the same, I even cannot open the app. Please, deal with this bug, I don't want to change the translator. Thank you.
Previously, in my OnePlus 5 this app is working well. I can't access this translate app on my OnePlus 7T. Since this app is not updated (3.8.4) after March, 2019 in play store. Unfortunately, I found the new version (3.10.2) in the official website and downloaded it. While install it's automatically replaced the older version and works fine. So, please update the same in play store.

This would be the most convenient translator i have used for all voice, type and image. However Suddenly this app stopped working in my mobile after updating from Android 9 to android 10. I uninstalled and reinstalled still it is not opening.
Was using previous versions without any problems until the last two updates from Samsung, then this app is not able to run anymore. Pls correct it as soon as possible. Do not know which party is at fault!!
Actually it's a 5 star app...when it works. But on my partner's OnePlus6T, now it crashes on startup and uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting, clearing cache makes no difference. She send the bug report / logs / feedback but got no response. So, what else can we do but bring it to their attention with reviews?
I enjoy the functionality and schematics of this particular app over all the others. but sometimes it will default to translate in Chinese even when I have settings set to English /Spanish only. there needs to be a download for ENG/SPN
I previously downloaded this app in Chinese only platgmform because a taxi driver recommended it. It I just found out that this app has an English platform. It works perfectly! The best translator app so far (for various languages).
Was great APP to use for translation. With the last update, APp would not launch, simply shutdown or freezes. This happened on 4 devices I tested. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Used to use it which was decent translation but it updated and the app no longer opens. After 5 secs, it closes itself. Reinstalled months later to see if it's been fixed but nope, the app still doesn't open and clearly not been fixed
Oh my god... literally the best, even though it still needs alot of improvement on Chinese to English screen translator function still I think its the best screen translator I have ever seen and used. Its totally free to use all the translate features THE SCREEN TRANSLATOR TOO!!! You won't lose anything its free and its great this app deserves a godly place in the translator app rankings. One question though, Youdao sounds Chinese so are you guys native Chinese people who translate in English??!
It's a wonderful app and we use it everyday in china. Now after android upgrade me and my wife both phone cannot use the app anymore. We are using note9 and note10. Hope developer can fix the problem which is created due to android upgrade.
Very irritating keeps running in background even after force closing. Translation only works per word not sentence or paragraph. IT should have an option for composition.
Finally. A translator app that actually does voice recognition for Mandarin and English offline. Most lean on the OS for that, and I've found that offline voice recognition is twitchy for other languages on my phone. This one seems to have it's own, and so should be more stable (fingers crossed). Unfortunately for most folks, Mandarin/English is the only current pair that has offline voice recognition. But that's the one I am after, so it works for me. Synthesis requires Internet.
