you can tell the people who run and developed this site/app do not care about it anymore as nothing has been updated since 2018. they keep pushing ridiculously expensive upgrade packages for something that will never be updated and won't evolve. overall decent but definitely not as good as 500px that is updated on the regular and the pricing is better.
Upload problem! Most of times there is a problem to upload photo, maybe one of ten attempts wil be successful. The worst thing is that when upload fails I have to choose photo and fill out the fields again from the beginning! It's really annoying. 😡
Has possibilities. The site policies are seemingly randomly applied. They also spam you with sales pitches to subscribe to their pay side. Basically they want you to pay to provide the site with content. Price is out of line with other sites and the app is not nearly as well developed as many other apps that deliver substantially more value...at best a good place to dump some otherwise throw away photos.
Update: Deleted my account. I signed up because I want to be involved in a community for photographers but it's mainly a place where they sell and spam you premium. Although I get it, they need to earn for them to operate but compared to other photography sites' premium, I honestly don't see any value of getting a membership here that would be better than those. Making a personal website is better and cheaper than this, and that usually more attractive to potential clients.
It's not perfect, but at least it's not the botting mayhem that 500px is. Yes, you will get weekly messages with subscription offers, but it's not as spammy as some people complain. I had both 500px and YouPic running at the same time for a few years and YouPic has more and meaningful interactions. There are almost no bots on the platform. Instead there are some silly gamification features such as badges, a leaderboard and feedback points on photos, but your exposure is not limited by these.
Really enjoy the idea of this app. Great accuracy with pinpointing your specs you used to shoot as well as your camera used. My issue is that I'm unable to upload photos most of the time. And I really wish that stats and hash tags were a part of in app purchases. Apart from the upload issue I would have rated a 5
It's a hobby for me but I take pride in my photography and like the app for the feedback, but the fact I can only upload 1 photograph every 12hrs on the free version is ridiculous I'm trying to create small stories with several photos so this app is no use for that. I can't afford nor do I want the full premium version as I'm no professional.
Uploading to youpic today from android mobile has never been so annoying.. It seem to fail uploads a lot! And theres no retry or draft option witch is super annoying after thinking about the perfect caption. Noting is saved and you have to atart all over again hoping it does not fail again! Can you pic team do something about this bug?
Awful Admin team, not interested in any problems just money. Constantly hounded to join at quite an extortionate price considering there's plenty of other portfolio sites out there much cheaper if you wanted membership. As the system stands at the moment it's flawed. There seems to be a lot of underlying issues and there's no critique off members to help you improve.
Looking for something to get away from Instagram monetization and slow decline of organic growth but this app is always pushing their expensive premium membership so I assume it's the same "pay to win" model, also I have consistent issues uploading any photos and don't even bother with this broken app... The idea is good, but unfortunately social media is moving toward monetization and scraping your pockets and it hurts the users who thrive on organic growth.
This app requires an access to all the contacts from the contacts list. Be careful! Why, on the earth, photography app needs to know my contacts?? It's unacceptable. Without approving an access it won't start.
They limit your photo exposure till you buy a membership which does nothing. They hound you constantly to buy a membership and until you do, you can only upload 1 photo every 24 hours. They do however give you badges based on views and what your content is but after being on here for 3 years and just about a half million views of my work, I've gained nothing but in-house badges
What a ridiculous app. I thought it aas going to useful, and for the first two days it seemdd so, likes and comments were flying in. Day 3 and the account fell off a cliff and i started to get messages from the "Admin" team trying to get me to upgrade to the premium accout quoting "I know can deliver a really good on your investment". A 143USD investment... Seems like a huye scam avoid if you can.
Forcing users to have a premium is unacceptable. It's a form of bullying in my eyes. I'm a hobby photographer I don't want to pay for premium, I can't afford it anyway. Twice I told your management team. Sadly I have left , well you help me out my removing the remainder of my account. I found uploading 1 photo every 12hrs or so a bit extreme. I would of stayed if it wasn't for the fact I felt like I had to pay for something I didn't want 🙄ðŸ˜
The app is unbelievably bad. It's one of those rare cases when an official website via a mobile browser is more functional than a mobile app. Who can tell Google Play to remove this piece of shame altogether?
App doesn't show notifications and doesn't update the feed... basicly useless. Oh, it shows the premium ads correctly, so you can see their priorities
That's a wonderful application and platform as well for photographers. I am using it for more than 2 years for my photography. By the way I am a photographer who takes photography as a hobby and passion both and I personally recommend you this app.
The concept is really cool but this app has serious issues. I posted a picture trying to get my account started, entered all my info in the bio and description, time passes and i try upload another picture and these idiots ban my account... im still pissed. Dont waste your time with this app. They dont even have anyone trying to resolve these trivial issues.
Installed the app and tried to create an account, a popup said, "Could not sign in". No reason why this didn't work. I guess the developers of this app ate trying to kill it. I'll be uninstalling it.
It's a great app with great content, but the bugs occur a little too often. It's more of a 3.5 stars.
This app was very good but the in the recent update instead of one like by one person I was able to like a single photo 50 times by pressing the like button again and again. This is annoying please correct this
I like this so much, but there's a big problem with upload error. I can't upload most of my photos for some reason.
App does not work. (on pixel 3xl) Have to manually sign in. Google sign in doesn't work. Once signed in the app doesn't update or function. Have to use the site on my computer.
My account was immediately deleted without any warning for posting a screenshot of a game. If you tell me that it's not allowed on YouPic and send me a warning message, then I won't do that again, but my account just got deleted, it's enough to make me hate YouPic!
I was hoping for a community that would offer thoughtful critiques of photos, but all it offers is likes and platitudes. The app itself hasn't been updated in over a year. That should tell you all you need to know.
The app is really good because I can show my photos around the people, the only thing that maybe can change is that I already finished the first two courses, but I have to pay for the other ones, for me would be good if they're free or try to win some points doing anything to enjoy the other courses, I'm not an expert taking pictures but I want to improve my knowledge about it and your app it's the perfect option to do it. I really love the app, and I will appreciate more if you change that :).
