My experience with this app has been good. But recently my daughter comes to me with login page multiple times. I noticed there is a privacy lock at bottom right, when you click that you have 2 options to chose from and when you select "I am parent", it goes to login page. Kids accidentally press that and there is no option to get back to the main screen. Please fix that. Thanks
Please fix the app before I throw my phone out the windows and ban it from our house. I am so over the sign in thing coming up all the time and having to watch the agonising video. It glitches out bad. I've had to go through the process so many times. It's crP enough that alot of the clips are so short and won't play on unless it's open in the app on your phone.
It's the best app for kids and easy to use but can you just edit the feature of forwarding the video because its so complicated on that topics we have to first drag it forward/backward the if its to much then drag it back again so if you just adjust that it would be perfect 🥰 . If to talk 👄 about else it is perfectly perfect 👌 .love the option for inline videos and settings 👌. If you just add more searches relevant to kids like doreamon etc. I would like it more when you upload full videos.
Has been good in the past, but is getting janky - forgetting which child is using the app, loading slowly or not at all, asking us to redo setup and getting confused at the "create email" step because one already exists. Actual watching of videos still works, once you can get in
Excellent. You can set it to a certain rating you feel comfortable for your child. There is a timer you can set to limit screen time. With the settings you have to do multiplication to even get to the setting which is very smart.
Overall the app are well built and easy to use as it is simple enough to have the kids to handle it. However the apps itself not really have that much of channel or video that really aimed for the Chinese... Cuz as I was looking for content like Four Golden Princess/Q-Genz series etc and it's just doesn't pop up those favourite's content at YouTube Kids used to save it as YouTube.... Pls fixed it so I can let them used the apps well, thx
Make portrait orientation option!!! The landscape only is annoying. Also, YT Kids on firestick doesn't allow voice searches which I have to do with my phone which is landscape mode frustrating. Gonna uninstall probably.
So this is fine. I want to know why this was ever created. Like, just make YouTube age-appropriate or make this?! This restricts way more content then it needs. And why is there some channels where you can watch their videos say "navigation unavailabe" example: I can watch Kurzgesagt on there but why can I go to their channel? The thing I like is that it works with chromecast like youtube. Lastly, I can only watch 1 video from Dude Perfect. And you know what, Dude Perfect is clean. NO swearing
Good app! Has safe, age-appropiate videos. The only thing is that the close captions are difficult to turn on. Sometimes you can do it by pressing a button, but most of the time the button doesn't work at all. Please fix this bug and I'll give you 5 stars, and I still highly recommend this app.
I think this app gives the chance for kids to learn and grow. It has helped my daughter a lot with her numbers and spelling. All of the content on the app is appropriate for their age. I am glad that my kid has used this app in a good way. Parents kids will enjoy this app with all its different genres of videos. 😊
This is a good app, however the fact that you can't block all videos of something your child likes is unsettling. I would block a channel, and episode, then it would show up on another channel of someone's that I didn't mind them watching. So I had to delete it.
This app keeps formatting/clearing all settings with login user. This is frustrating as this happens a lot. Then I have to re-read terms and conditions, etc. Where can one add channels so my child can watch their favourite channels and videos. Otherwise do not see a point using this app and may as well create a youtube login for my child where one can personalise their settings to suit ones needs. Until fixed, I'm removing this app for now.
Definitely needs subscription integration and better channel block. A playlist to save actual educational videos, because the algorithm always steers them towards the silly videos or videos of other children playing with toys or using toys to react terrible behavior.
The app's parental controls are mostly fine except for the search feature not being a necessary feature and being optional. Only Full Screen which can be uncomfortable. The content for toddlers are somewhat mixed and mindless. The recommendation of content to the Pre-teens are scuffed and lacks context, perhaps suited for 6-9 year olds, but not as much as the toddler section. It hurts children's brains. It hurts me most. No video settingd, countless ads, just a stupid, mindless cash grab. BS.
The offline videos option is not reliable. We like to watch offline videos in the car during long commutes. Sometimes they are there, and sometimes there arw none. Even if I refresh the offline videos each night, sometimes there are none the next morning. If there are 3 children's accounts, sometimes one will have offline videos and others have none. There can be offline videos in tbe morning, then none later in tbe day.
It's amazing that even though the content creators are disabled from monetizing their videos for videos targeted at kids, that Google still finds it appropriate to put ads on the videos. Especially when I have the app on a Chromecast with Google TV (how about that, a Google product) which doesn't let me sign in to my account with YouTube premium. Google you are a joke.
It's pretty good but. I am a bit worried about SAR Specific Absorption Rate, or whatever that means. With, my device. So, I am wondering. If kids are going to be watching TV. And, what hardware should be here. Like, a Desktop computer. Laptops, and generally SAR in general with the old cathode ray screens and trying to make sense of doses, and Electro Magnetic Fields or Forces. So I am aged 41 and I really enjoyed watching the cars jumping over a bump in the style of a kid playing.
Everytime I closed the app, it automatically logged me out so whenever my kids wanted to watch YTKids, I need to endure the pain of a very long sign in video (that I cannot skip!) and sometimes my account is not on the option. But when I tried to add a new account, it says it's already there. Seriously? The only reason why I have the app is so the kids can get distracted for an hour and I can finish my work without disturbance. Well, not anymore!
I expected to be able to search and have the option to approve whole channels in one step. Instead I have to approve each video separately and the search results don't even show all a channel's videos even when signed into parent mode. It is too tedious to approve all the videos on the channels I was wanting to set up for my kids. Good concept but useless to me. Disappointed.
Not a fan. Half of the videos aren't even in English, and it's not easy to filter out content unfit for a small child. Blocked channels continue to pop up and there is no Like or Do Not Recommend function to guide the algorithm.
Keeps crashing and resetting. Doesn't actually block content I've set to be blocked. Constantly having to turn off the extra sounds over and over. I have rarely been so frustrated by an app before.
Does not work in certain parts of the city and very frustrating. Example, Where I live is near a bridge, I go over said bridge and the app no longer works, when we are literally just on the other side. Hmm And not the only time this has happened. Happens all the time.we could even be on the other side of the city and still nothing.
The idea of just having in the app what is healthy learning channels or videos of your choice without any other suggestions of new stuff is genius. It is just visible to your child whatever parents choose for them.
Decent, but needs some improvement. It's nice to have more control of what my child sees on YouTube. The parental controls are good. The video controls are lacking; rewind is a 10 second rewind, there is no option to start from the beginning. If you go back to watch a video that you had already watched halfway, you have to watch from the last watched part. The select highlight on the tv is white on pale blue, it is not easy to see.
Good overall, but it's super frustrating to start a video from the beginning on Android TV, you have to manually fast backward it taking 10-30seconds. Please add an easy way to do that.
at some point it worked perfectly, but since some updates it became so unstable. it crashes and even freezes the device. it doesn't even update without crashing.
Recommended & recently watched tabs now gone out of nowhere. My son likes being able to go back & see something he's already watched. Now when you go to the app there's no recommended tab & nothing new. For 3 days it's just the same exact videos. We have to search for something new.
The whole concept of this app is that it is ad free, and now it's full of ads. It also logs out constantly in Chrome such that it takes 2 minutes to open every day. Very frustrating. When working, far better than normal YouTube, as no risk of unsuitable content (other than massive amounts of product placement videos).
Recognize that many (most?) parents use phones, and don't just hand their device to their kids. The landscape-only orientation is terrible on phones. Why no option to flip to portrait? And the automatic 'theme song' adds pointless friction. I don't need a cartoon every time I boot up (or after crashing, which is frequent). Second, all toddlers like repetition. But the algorithm hides watched content and doesn't save searches. Other apps actually understand the parental side of the audience.
