We work hard to keep the videos on YouTube Kids family-friendly and use a mix of automated filters built by our engineering teams, human review, and feedback from parents to protect our youngest users online. But no system is perfect and inappropriate videos can slip through, so we’re constantly working to improve our safeguards and offer more features to help parents create the right experience for their families. You can also customize your families experience you can turn search on or off while using YouTube Kids on TV. Or, check your child’s watch history with the ‘Watch it Again’ feature.
Create individual experiences as unique as your kids
Create up to eight kid profiles, each with their own viewing preferences, video recommendations, and settings. Choose an age category that fits your child, “Preschool”, “Younger”, or “Older”.
The “Preschool” Mode designed for kids 4 and under curates videos that promote creativity, playfulness, learning, and exploration. The “Younger” Mode allows kids 5-7 to explore their interests in a wide variety of topics including songs, cartoons, and crafts. While our “Older” Mode gives kids 8 and up the chance to search and explore additional content such as popular music and gaming videos for kids.

Our library is filled with family-friendly videos on all different topics, igniting your kids’ inner creativity and playfulness. It’s everything from their favorite shows and music to learning how to build a model volcano (or make slime ;-), and everything in between.

YouTube Kids contains paid ads in order to offer the app for free. Your kid may also see videos with commercial content from YouTube creators that are not paid ads.The Privacy Notice for Google Accounts managed with Family Link describes our privacy practices when your kid uses YouTube Kids with their Google Account. When your kid uses YouTube Kids without signing into their Google Account, the YouTube Kids Privacy Notice applies.

It's pretty sad when the AppleTV Kids Youtube app is better than the one for Google's TV platform. The Apple TV app adds parent sign in, so you can customize which channels and vidoes appear in the selection screen. With the launch of the new GoogleTV platform, I hope this app is updated.
I've been using this app on my Sony TV which work really and my kid was happy. Until today, I'm not sure what happen but app keep return to user select menu (red screen) while my kid watch her cartoon. it keep happen randomly which very distract.
Need to be able to log in to control content better, and to avoid my daughter seeing ads, as I pay for a premium account for a reason. Fix this, and the app would be perfect.
The aesthetics of this app are nice but this version needs better parental controls. Google Family Link is not Android TV compatible so restrictions like approved content only for recommendations need to be implemented into this version of the app itself. It's pretty much useless without it for any parents who want to control what content their kids see.
Like everyone else says. I CAN NOT block videos or sign into my account control what my child watches. I pay for youtube premium to block ads and can't even use it with this app. Please explain to me what is the point of this app?
Nothing like the Android app. Unable to block specific channels. Needs improvement bigtime.
Playing one of those hour long combo nursery rhyme videos and want to go back to the start? Enjoy holding the rewind key for minutes. The VHS players in the 80s didn't make you do that. What kind of garbage UX is this? Does the "Kids" in the title mean it was created by kids?
I am a Grandmother. I love how protected my grand daughter is while on You tube kids. The 1 stars are probably the kid. : )
Voice search would be a very good feature to replicate what is on YT Kids Android phone/tablet
Same as everyone else. It's basically useless if you want to use limits or filtering. Why google? Why is everything you do so half baked?
Seriously, the Youtube kids app for Google's own platform doesn't respect youtube premium and forces ads on your kids even though you pay to not watch them? No options, no settings? Put some effort into this please...
There is no option to control the quality of videos.
IT IS TERABILE i tride loding it on my laptop and it did't work but on goggel play it works on pc 1star on i pad 5stars

I have youtube kids installed on my phone/tablet and my kids love it. I have it installed on my Android TV devices and it NEVER gets used. Why no voice search? It doesn't make sense. They just go to the regular youtube app and voive search what they want. Often they get it, but they also will find and view some inappropriate stuff as well on the Full Youtube app. PLEASE add voice search for YouTube Kids on Android TV!
It has some good contents, but the major problem to me is that I (and my kid) can still watch a certain channel in this app (I use it on Google TV) even though I blocked the same channel on the other devices (e.g., a cell phone or iPad) my kid uses. There is simply no "block" button in this version of the app. It doesn't sync at all, and it's quite sad that a company like Google fails to handle it immediatly. It's a very important feature when it comes to any kid apps.
