YouVersion Bible Lens: Bible Verse Photo Editor

The app is no longer finding photos or quotes. I have uninstalled twice and have also tried on wifi and data. It finds nothing in discover, just constantly looking. If I upload a photo it never finds a verse to match. I have checked permissions and they are on allow. I really like this app but nothing is working on it anymore. Any suggestions?

The app has a lot of potential. It works well if you do select a verse the software suggests. Where it fails is when you add a different verse. If you are patient, and can restart the app numerous times, you may get lucky and save your project before the app closes on you. I would use this app all the time, and I did before the last update, if it wasn't for the constant crashing. I still have the app installed in hopes it will be fixed.

You can choose your own Bible verse. For those who can't find it, scroll all the way through the suggested verses and then you'll see a "+" symbol that lets you choose a topic or specific verse and select which Bible translation to use. Besides pointing out that feature other reviews have missed, the app has been improving since it's first iteration. I have it a 4/5 since the filtering options are limited and could use improvement. For example, it'd be nice to control the brightness of your photo manually and have the ability to add a thin outline on the words when they blend into the background colors.

It is great but there is this bug I think where either as I start to edit a picture etc. Or select a verse for one it either throws me out to the menu, the camera or even my home screen. It would be great if you could check if it's possible to fix this, it seems the app is in it's early stages so it's reasonable to expect these sorts of bugs. Oh and if possible add in a option where you can select which words of a text to turn into a different font or into italics and so on. Thanks.

Love the idea of this app. When it works, its great. But the app keeps crashing. Also, this morning I noticed my phone battery was down to 13%. When I opened the app I noticed it had gone through many of the photos on my phone and paired them with verses. If the battery usage continues I will have to uninstall. Might I suggest a setting allowing the user to turn off the automatic feature.

This app has potential! I was really excited to use it when it first came out, but now it is buggy and is constantly crashing. It won't let me load pictures from my gallery unless they were ones automatically selected by the app. Every time I do create my own image or try to select a different verse, the app crashes and stops working.

The app was working great to begin with and now suddenly when I choose my own verse for an image it force closes the app and crashes. I've noticed other reviews are saying the same thing. I've also signed out of the app and back in and have uninstalled and reinstalled and the same issue keeps occurring. Hope it can be fixed, as it was a really great app.

I consistantly have issues when creating and sharing. Great app with a ton of potential! I do get frustrated more often than not. Sometimes the photos lose quality. It ofyen won't post on my YouVersion app. Other times I need to start over in order for the creation to move to the next step. I look forward to updates that bring better consistancy with this product.

The app needs some work, but it's getting there. It's supposed to identify pictures from your gallery and apply verses to them, but so far of the thousands of pictures in my gallery, it's managed to apply a Bible verse to about 7. And when it comes to saving the ones they've generated or ones I've created myself, they're very low quality. There needs to be a high-quality option for this to really be a big hit. Finally, the edit option doesn't actually allow you to edit the shape of the verse.

Before I downloaded the app, I checked the comments. People were saying they couldn't change the Bible version. Well, you can; just open the settings gearwheel. To find and choose that you first swipe into the right hand screen. In settings, touch Bible. As for language, if you select privacy policy, you have the ability to choose in what language you read the policy.

Extremely frustrating to use. Even though it's linked to my youversion app I have to change the version in settings before I do anything because you can't change it after you start. Second major issue is it continually crashes! This morning it crashed at least 8 times before I was able to successfully create my image. On the hunt for a new app. I actually was using this one to help with our church bulletins.

It would be great if it worked regularly! I loved this app at first, the graphics are awesome, but recently it just keeps shutting down in the middle of making a post. It's not worth my time to try dozens of times to get something to post. This isn't an occasional problem, lately it's continually. I will install Canva and make my own. Such a waste of space.

Concept is great, & app is functional as long as IT chooses the verse & you don't want to change anything. However, if you DO choose your own verse, it either shuts down & you can send feedback to the developers, or it snaps back to square one, & you've lost all your work. This happens every time. There's also no editing of the verse; you must include the entire thing, no deleting "And" at the beginning or using only "Luke 1:14b". Truly hoping for solid fixes & some editing options! Thanks!

This is a good app with a lot of potential. It's good to quickly create something with a message to post to Facebook etc, or even for a poster outside a church. The only gripe I have at present is that you can only choose from a selection of half a dozen texts for any one photo, which limits it somewhat, especially if there's a text you would particularly like to put with a photo but it isn't one that the app has thought of. Devs - I'll up the rating to 5 stars if you could make it possible to choose your own verse. It would also be nice to be able to use any of the versions of the Bible that a person has downloaded in your Bible app.

I like the concept of this app. It's able to appropriately suggest verses for some of my pictures. But the app has so many bugs, that it is very difficult to get to one step to another without crashing and restarting. I also can't get it to save the images I've made on my phone. I am looking forward to the bugs being addressed.

its a pretty cool app, except that you can't work with it as much as you can other photo editing app. personally, i think this would be better as a feature of the image maker on the youversion bible app. but if you do that, add more photo editing features, like allowing us to edit the words or move where they are on the photo. all in all, pretty cool app though.

Awesome app to use to create scripture images, but tremendously difficult each time I'm at the brink of saving and sharing, especially for my church's social media, and the app crashes. I've tried dozens of times but it just keeps crashing making it nearly impossible to create something. Really want to keep using this app though, and praying and waiting for this issue to be fixed.

I was hoping to be able to pick my own photos and passages but the app takes random photos from your phone and places random quotes on top. You are able to tweak layout slightly but not much. It does have several layout options which is nice. I guess as time goes on it'll become more like it's counterpart.

This amazing AI analyzes pics and finds relevant verses to make motivational memes! I even tried to confuse it with odd (but not completely bizarre) pictures, and it worked like a champ! My one complaint is that I don't get the option to transfer this app to my SD card. Come on, guys, I only have 900 Megs of space on my phone after all the can't-move apps are done. That's not polite.

"Bible Lens has stopped." Great concept, but expect to see that error message a LOT. I want this app to work so badly, because it is such a great idea! However, constant app crashing makes it practically unusable. Particularly unstable is the tab where you select a photo of your choice from your camera roll. On that note, selecting our own photos would be much more efficient in the first place if one could open the desired photo in the Photos app and then use a Bible Lens "share with app" icon. I will be standing by in hopes that this app makes a turnaround. As the social media ministry leader of my church, this app has the potential to help me revolutionize our church's social media content. An insofar unused potential, but the potential is there.

This app is great when it works. I love that it recognizes your photos and you can edit the verses. My only problem is that it often "can't find" my photos, and when I try to choose my photos, it crashes. I really hope there is an update soon that fixes these problems as it would be an amazing app otherwise!

I have been using this app for a few days and find it buggy. Don't get me wrong, it does allow the user to make beautiful Bible verse pictures when it works consistently. One issue is, my chosen Bible version changes back to NIV when I close the app and it needs to be reset to ESV with each use, also my saved verses have reverted to the original version of the picture verse when I have made changes. I don't want to discourage anyone from downloading the app. And thank you for making it.

Love it and how it creates a scripture verse for any photos on your device. So fun, interactive and inspiring. Great for kids and all those who love to take lots of photos and capture great moments.xx One thing though, I've noticed the last few photos meant to have been saved on the actual bible app have not reappeared on there, I can't see them and was wondering if there was something wrong with the posting?

A great app, but it is limited in its available English translations. Where is the CSB? It's a solid addition to our English translations, and it lacking here doesn't make sense after being in circulation for 3 years now. In addition, the app is very large for what it does, using half a gigabyte to match existing photos to Bible verses. And it isn't movable to SD card. Surely there is a better way to handle storage? I love your apps and what you do! Hopefully this feedback is useful.

I love the idea of this app but unfortunately it crashes very time I choose a new bible verse that is not already on their suggested list. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but the problem keeps occurring. I'm unable to set up my photo before the app closes on its own. I hope this problem get fixed soon so I can still use the app. Love the idea though!

Just started using this app. I like it a lot. However, I would like the flexibility to choose the scripture to associate with my photos. The Discovery function is a nice feature, but too restrictive. I'd hoped to be able to associate my children's life verse with their pictures. Haven't been able to do that. Please consider adding this functionality in the next update.

Love the app but there's a huge bug that needs to be fixed! After every few images that I create, the app will stop saving the photos in the phone memory, as well as stop publishing them on the Bible app. I've already written an e-mail for support, and been answered that the way to fix that issue is to clear cache, uninstall and reinstall the app. But will I have to uninstall and reinstall every few days??? The app is wonderful. But there's lots of room for improvement!

I love using it but I just hope to use more than one verse to the image. Also I would like to have the control of where the verse should be on image because it block the picture to go with it. I love the choices of different kinds of color in the background and color changing on the verse to blend well together. I love it when it connected to Youversion Bible app. Discovering is beautiful. Great app.
