With this app you can manage locomotive libraries, locomotives and locomotive functions, program digital components – and of course control all locomotives with DCC- or Motorola-decoder, as easy and convenient as is only possible with touch-technology.
The digital switchboard Z21 connects your model train unit and your digital locomotives with your iOS device via WLAN. This way you can control the operation on your train layout easily and conveniently from your mobile device.
Model train control was never this easy and convenient: With one swipe of your hand you can scroll to your model of choice in the locomotive library. A slight touch on the headlight symbol and the front and backlights go on. A second touch, this time on the speaker symbol, and the locomotive makes a sound. Drag your finger over the speed indicator and the train accelerates.

Latest version keeps crashing on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Only been like it since the update!
The app is pretty good but not perfect. My gripe at the moment, is that in the older app I used to add a lot of additional information in the description field for my locos, which is now very difficult to read being just a single line. Also the text fields don't like inverted commas, when I type in a single inverted comma the app then displays multiple inverted commas; seems a bug is present or peculiarity with text fields in the app.
I would like to have info stats on the steering screen, like used amps and voltages on current locomotive and the old 3 colored throttle scala was much nicer, also there is no option to test the functions during a manual setup. I like that you can disable the loco swipe, cuz it was a nightmare in the old app, throttle response sensitivity can be changed, that's neat too. Overall a decent app.
In the old app I had added locos some of which I didn't have a picture for and some that I did. I imported the data into the new app, 1.2.2, and it decided all by itself that all of the locos should have a picture. It assigned a picture to the locos that previously didn't have a picture in the old app in a completely random way. Sometimes it added a picture of a Roco loco and sometimes it used a picture from one of my added locos. At no point was I connected to a Z21. When I went to edit a loco, by tapping on the pencil, the app swapped the pictures round on the locos in the list. I tapped onto the loco I wanted to remove a picture from but when the loco screen was shown no picture was visible, not even a silhouette. In the steering screen it is now difficult to ensure that I have correctly picked the right loco to run because more than one loco has the same picture. I would rather not delete a loco that has the wrong picture and then recreate it from scratch. If I could simply delete loco pictures, I cannot find a way to do this, that would helpful but I'd rather the software didn't mess around in the first place.
After latest update on android 12 not working at all.very bad situation
Its generally a great app but with a few frustrations. Can't seem to do simple stuff like sorting locos etc. Also I'd really like to be able to link the app to a central PC database which the app references. Im sure loco setup and multiple android devices would be alot easier to update.
Its a good app but i will be a lot beter when the train control works in landscape mode and you can see the controle of two trains at the same time so you don't have to switch every time you want to steer another train. But overal great app
This app has too many glitches, locomotives not being detected on the POM, not being able to edit functions and not responding. Plus there are many locomotives missing from the database. Please fix this app because it's a huge detriment to the Z21 system as a whole.
Still some bugs when adding a photo after putting in details. Says there is a memory problem. Happens on separate phones on separate apps.
Guess what... Today of my 30 train entries, only 13 remained. The rest is simply disappeared! Luckily i had exported them to a 2nd device. Guess what... That one is now also corrupted. It wont even open the vehicles tab. Wow...
I have had trouble with the Android on my phone. Waiting for a update to rectify the proplem. 3 months and nothing. Unable to use the system at all. Company Roco are a bloody disgrace.
Still prefer the old app. Can't use a photo in control station like the old app. This is a big let down for me.
POM Does not appear to work, Manual CV programming only allows CV's upto 127. The programming section of this app seems to be very limited unlike the programming section of the older version of the Z21 app which functions well.
Base functions are great! Search in lokomotiv database doesn't work at all.
Just shorts out when used with Broadway Limited locos, they work fine with other systems, just not Z21

As is USUAL for these people, there is still INSUFFICIENT Testing prior to Release!!! The latest version was installed automatically at the end of Jan/2019. It FORCES me to Accept the current Privacy Policy. The problem is that I need an English version, but MULTIPLE WHOLE Paragraphs are in GERMAN!?!?! CLEARLY, these people STILL DON'T TEST what they Release, and I haven't even got to their Software yet, because I can't agree to something I can't read in English!?!?!
The app comes complete with entries for locos which I don't have. Took a while to work out how to delete them. But no info on how to load my existing loco database from the old Z21 app. So it is a big NO from me.
Slowly getting there and becoming more stable with each update. A massive improvement on the old Z21 app however!
