zapptales - Your WhatsApp chat as a book

Really disappointing app. It took 14 hours to download the chat from WhatsApp, during which time, you couldn't leave the app or else it would cancel the download. Once downloaded, it didn't have any of the media files (photos, videos, GIFs etc). You had to put these in manually. I started to do this and soon realised the captions for the media are not included, which means the conversation printout is then very confused as the caption comments are often crucial parts of the conversation. Lame.

In all honesty, I found this all a bit average. The app only allows you to do so much and it really needs to be done on a desktop. You have no freedom in making the text bigger or moving the whatsapp message around to space it out - so instead everything was squeezed onto 28 pages and then i had 16 pages or so of blankness. When the book arrived in the post it had been stuffed into the packaging as the front cover and the first 5 or so pages was bent over. It is what it is, but far from impressed and won't use again. On a side note, I wasn't even going to write a review but Zapptales emailed me asking for one...there you go.

Beautiful product that will keep messages from a deceased loved one safe for posterity. Very good quality china-clay paper and tightly bound hardback book - you get what you pay for. Quick response from customer service/live chat when needed. One issue is already acknowledged by them on the Android app - some pictures did not upload automatically so had to upload manually. But also, comments written attached into pictures sent via WhatsApp were not uploaded, so they had to be added manually too. Overall, very pleased indeed and would definitely use again.

I love it! My wife and I make a book every year with our WhatsApp chats. The app works smoothly, and when we chat too much we need to use the browser version which also works perfectly. Their Service is amazing, always ready to help improve your books and try to accommodate your needs. Delivery works perfectly as well. The best thing is they added new apps which is all I was waiting for before deleting WhatsApp.

Although I started with some issues trying to download an extensive Whatsapp conversation with over 1000 pictures, the helpdesk was extremely helpful and fast and they guided me through the whole process. It worked out excellent and I can strongly recommend Zapptales as everybody helping out there did an excellent job. At the end I had a wonderful book, which was delivered abroad in only a few days.

Zapptales have been amazing! There customer service is brilliant, friendly and helpful responding really quickly. The book arrived on time and my dad absolutley loved it! Thank you very much Zapptales I wouldn't hesitate to use you again at all! Such an easy app to use.

This was disappointing app. I installed this app since I needed to print whatsapp chat and this app has high rating. The process was not straightforward and it required a lot of steps and time. It required going to email to log into this program web interface. It does not print to PDF but instead it prepares some book and it is not as good for courts. It also says nothing untill very last moment that you need to pay about 18 euros for the single pdf it prepares.

Worked brilliantly, I was uploading hundreds of photos and a few were missed out on the upload but it was easy to add in afterwards. The team on the live chat were super helpful and quick to respond. Would definitely recommend!

The app is a great idea, unfortunately it has issues importing images, however, the support are great who suggested to use a Win desktop version which sucked in all chats and images perfectly.

Zapptales makes it so very easy to get a hard copy of your memories, a few easy steps, good instructions, respectful of privacy, and in a few minutes I had ordered a perfect gift for a loved one.

I think it's a must-try for everyone due to its uniqueness. I can edit or add content, personalize the cover, write my dedication, choose a wallpaper and more to create a my own personal book.

The book was lovely and good quality. The only disappointment was the captions that were sent with a photo on the chat are not there. So you don't know what the photos are about. Diane

It's fine, otherwise one can do all the work by exporting and printing locally the .txt file without needing the app. but without pictures.

It was very easy to create the book and I'm very happy with the results. I was concerned about the size, but it's perfect. And the delivery was fast. Totally recommend it!

I was impressed by the attractive interface of Zapptales at the very first sight. But I keep using it due to its usefulness. It's a must-try.

It is not converting the chats and getting an error in while uploading media files. Please check it once

I was too inpatient 😅 so all the pictures didn't upload. But it was easy to put them in place afterwards.
