Zelda Hylian Translator
Translate text found the in the Legend of Zelda video games. Legend of Zelda Hylian Translator allows for bi-directional translation from English and/or Japanese to the various languages found within the Legend of Zelda video game series. The app includes support for Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess (both Gamecube and Wii versions), Link Between Worlds, as well as Ocarina of Time (also found in Majora's Mask), and Wind Waker (also found in a few other Zelda games).

The translator is simple to use. Type in the text you wish to translate in the field provided, select the game's Hylian that you wish for the text to be translated to, and press "Translate!". For the two games listed with "(JP)" (Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker), you can either use your android keyboard to enter native Japanese, or simply enter text in English and let the app translate the text automatically to Japanese behind the scenes and then to the correct Hylian.
To access the Hylian to English/Japanese mode, simply press your menu key, and select it from the menu provided. You will be presented with a similar view as before. A dropdown for the game, a text box, but instead of a translation button, you will see a customized Hylian keyboard and a Japanese to English (and vice versa) translation button.
In this mode, the keyboard will switch to whichever game's Hylian you have selected. Then you simply enter the symbols you see inside the game (or anywhere else you might find Hylian text!) and the translation will appear in the text box above. For the two games labeled "(JP)" (Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time), the translation will initially appear as Japanese. Simply press "JPN-ENG" to get a generated translation from Japanese to English.
*Note that the English-Japanese (and vice versa) translation may not be accurate and for the best results it is advised to use Japanese with the games listed with "JP" and English for the ones without. However, for convenience, automatic translation has been added to the app.
*When translating from the Wind Waker Hylian, some symbols will include two lines or a small square above the symbol. Keys for these were not included. Instead, two buttons with those markings appear at the right side of the keyboard (between the clear and backspace buttons). Press the one you see after pressing the related symbol itself.
To return to the original English/Japanese to Hylian mode, simply press the menu key once again, and select it from the menu that appears.

First of all, great app. I've been trying to learn Hylian for a while and having this is really handy. Unfortunately, there is one small problem with the translations. The problem stems from the fact that in Hylian there are special rules that give letters double sound meanings. For example, when translating the word symbols that mean Deku Seeds it comes up "Teku Seeds". This is because t represents both /t/ and /d/ sounds. Plug in these special rules and a logic function and your golden. :)
All these people saying that you can't copy the Hylian, does it matter? I doubt any of you complaining you can't copy the Hylian ever took the time to translate all of the different Hylian languages. Give him some credit. At least there is an app. Ever heard of a pen and paper? I, personally, love the app. It's the best one on the market in my opinion. A spoken language would be nice, but seeing as no where in the games anyone speaks it (I assume), it is not possible.
I think the app is great. To those who complain because the translations aren't accurate because letters repeat and so on, I have done a lot, and I mean a lot of research and these characters actually do stand for more than one letter in the English alphabet. To the people complaining about the JP to EN translations, I get your point, but obviously I think it was meant as a joke, not as a literal translation... If you want an actual JP to EN translation use google translate... Seriously... Btw if you read this far its really interesting to note that BOTW actually on at least one occasion uses the alphabet from ALBW. A great addition would be adding the sheikah language from BOTW
-3☆ for a translate app You can't copy and paste it so it's just a useless picture app. The developer approaches this with a we can't do that due to the android system not supporting the font over the whole system But he is incorrect as androids system let's you install fonts and use them else where now of course it won't work on the Web or other devices but it would be device wide. -1☆ fails to make use of the activity life cycle loses the current translation subset index every time you do a translation
I enjoy this app a lot! It seems to work very well, and to all the complainers, how would one even be able to copy and paste nonexistent symbols anyway? My only suggestion would be a reverse translator of some sort. Like, maybe you could choose the language and then type in whatever "letters" you see in the game text and it translates to English letters? I don't know how hard that would be, but I think it would be very cool if at all possible!
The bug needs fixed. I tried to translate Wind Waker and it keeps crashing. Every other language that I've tried goes blank other than that
Does not work on Samsung Note 8. Only displays a blank white screen. Retested and tried several times without any luck.

The g and q in Skyward Sword Hylian are the same symbol. Fix that and that will be OK.
When I saw some zelda writeing in the game I just translated ir to see what it said thank u vary much :D
I really like it, and would hope one day you can compile the letters to create fonts to be downloaded for copy paste.
I got it on my android I typed in something but nothing happened. If you fix this I will give it 5 stars
You should add Twilight Princess HD for the wii u, they even have stamps in the game but I want an easier way to read what's on the map. Can you please add a translation for that game. I will rate it 5 star when you do.
can only translate to Hyrulian? but not the other way. design is good. works well. kinda stupid that Tp Wii is just written backwards though xD sadly I'm no programmer. So I don't have a right to complain.
Like several others who posted recently, I get a blank screen instead of a translation, with all languages. I've used the app before and it used to work. Apparently something is wrong with it now. Are the developers still around? Are you going to respond to any of the comments?
I love cofuseing my friends with this. All though sometimes when I do it with no WiFi it don't work the same way when I do.
This is indeed awesome but I wish I could copy and paste the translated words me and my friend aspire to speak hylian so, being able to speak to her with the translated text would be awesome.

It doesn't translate numbers when you set it to Windward Evan though the translation in that game uses numbers.
This is a great app for English to Hylian but the translation in reverse. Wish it could be vertical but all in all great app
It's a nice thing by my side when playing zelda fans. But I need a recap, at the end of bought ww and oot their is jp, what does that mean again?
I have a huge problem and this needs to be fixed! I've been using this app before and it worked perfectly, but now however when I try to translate something it just shows a white screen and nothing else. Please help!
Now I have learned the whole Gerudo Hylian alphabet and I wrote it down so I can always remember it.
I loved it! Fortunately BotW has the same symbols as SS, which is wonderful! I write all of the languages down in alphabetical order, so I can write in any of the languages! Five stars!!!💛
I now a bit of Hyilian its awesome I can now go to Zelda games and read Hyilian on walls or anywhere this is awesome Link and Zelda I can be them for Halloween and right in hyilian lol my sisters will be confused 😹 because I'm a lil bit of Hylian
Everything except ocarina of time works. It just comes up blank. Great app though!

I wonder if anybody here realized its randomized every time, I tried to do my name 2 different times and there were both different
The translator messes up Z and X in Twilight Princess Hylian, and both Skyward Sword and ALBW have repeating letters in their alphabets. The only completely accurate one (afaik) is Gerudo. This app would be great if it were accurate, I'll give 5 stars for the fix.
