Zero Motorcycles Next Gen

This app could be much better, it should capture any error codes the bike has for example, and bring up remedies for them. It could be more intuitive between the Bluetooth connection and the cellular, they should be more seemless. It's like the cellular screen is hidden. Setting a charge target is not as easy as just typing it in. All the data amounts you can only get in U.S. dollars or Euros.

It works. Kind of. Connection, log downloads, and firmware updates are incredibly slow. In fact the firmware times out every time I try it. Ride mode customization is cool and all but for some reason continuously cranks the top speed down to 108 when I max it out to 127, upload, confirm it was set, then ride and come back in to the app. Makes it near unusable for a couple track day sessions. Please fix the issue or just leave speed unrestricted. Neat ideas, just some bad/buggy execution.

Useful when it works. The app can consistently connect over Bluetooth to edit modes and charge target, but stuff like pulling logs or firmware update is very, very, very, very slow and has a solid chance to fail for absolutely no reason at all. Especially BMS logs and updates. Right now I'm leaving this review online as the app is telling me to "please check your internet connection" trying to remote connect to the bike. Also, I've tried iOS version on an ancient iPhone 6S, it can't connect to the bike (because no bluetooth 5?), but it actually got notifications from it, unlike this app.

Glad it exists, that's about all and certainly worth the three stars for the basic functionality and that it only rarely crashes on me. I've used hundreds of Android apps since before 2010 so I know what's possible. More than a year after the initial release, next to nothing has been added or significantly enhanced. I have many ideas but I am sure they've gotten suggestions, change requests... So what's blocking, the programmer left ?

Just downgraded it AGAIN. I'VE HAD THE BIKE 20 MONTHS, AND THE APP HAS NOT BEEN UPGRADED. I see a lot of people have the same issues. WSJ listed this as the most connected motorcycleStill disappointing. Remote connect continuously shows attempting. The most useful function is setting the charging parameters, delaying until after midnight is a great way to save the grid. Besides that, it seems like you have to be connected by Bluetooth, with the kickstand down to make any significant changes.

So many reasons to love my Zero - the app is not one. Does what it needs to do at the barest minimum - remote conect let's you see the bike location and charge through cellular. Bluetooth needs the ignition to be on, so is limited to your garage/a stop. The bike will dial off functionality as soon as the kickstand is lifted. The mode change is pointless - there's a dedicated bars button for doing exactly that. Route tracker is equally pointless, as is Maps integration.

I have been using the app for a few days. The feature to record you ride is amazing as it records all the parameters that you want to review later. I wish there was a user guide to understand and use the features. The feature to custom design your riding mode is good but lacks any informational input. I am not clear about how the traction control toggle works. My sincere request to the developers. Please make it possible to save a recorded ride and parameters as an .mp4 file for later view. The share function is barely useful as it shows the route with three parameters alone. I hope that a future update is released soon with these additions.

Rather worthless app. I have yet to get remote connect to work. Bluetooth works ok if I am standing next to the bike with the kickstand down and key on, but then I can just use the menu on the bike and don't need the app. Being able to schedule charging is the only reason I would not give this "zero" stars if I could.

Traction control in Rider Modes is not intuitive as it looks like traction control is not enabled on review. Some additional features like the following would be useful Option for trip A or B to automatically set at start of trip or when last charged. Option for automatic start of capture of ride data, to save having to load app before each ride. It would be fantastic is you could connect to an MQTT topic for when to charge, this would give people options of charging from excess solar etc.

Update: I had it with this app. 1 year after it was developed and they still have major bugs. Still can't update the firmware through app. It wouldn't be so bad if the cellular update process even worked. Don't but this bike and look forward to the app it cellular connection or you will be disappointed. It had so much potential. Shame whomever is developing Android app doesn't know what they are doing. IOS app is not perfect but much better.

Can't get cellular to connect or get registered. No support links in app. Bought the bike yesterday. This is not good for your company's bottom line. Period. It's now 2022 and this app is still garbage. For the love of all that is holy, just please make the app tell me when changes in the app are synched successfully to the freaking bike. Please!!

It works fine for the most part. Sometimes when modifying the ride modes it does save your changes which is frustrating. Also can you please add the option to change to background picture to an SRS instead of the SRF.

It's useful when I can get it connected by Bluetooth, and it allowed me to configure a custom riding mode and battery charge limits. But the Bluetooth is so unreliable in this app and with the motorcycle that it's almost impossible to use. Remote connect almost never works.

You need to give the right phone permissions to the app, then you turn on the bike, enable pairing, get some codes from the bike to the app, register your email, send verification, get another code on your mail, and finally you can connect by Bluetooth to the bike. Too complicated for no reason. And then you got no turn by turn or proper navigation, no music, and no telephony. And customizing modes, for a SPORT mode fan offer nothing apart from reducing power and braking regeneration.

Had Bluetooth problems but reinstalled the app and made sure to always allow location access. That fixed it. Still not able to update the firmware though. Nope that's not enough. The Bluetooth functionally as implemented in the app is extremely unreliable.

There is nolonger any notification detail, just a blank Zero app notification. This means I don't know if it's finished charging, been knocked over or been moved/stolen. Not useful.

Registration doesn't work despite the fact that I was connected to the motorbike. Even with preferences changed to km instead of miles, screen still shows in "mi". I did not put one star as I still have to discover the other functionalities but so far it's not promising.

UPDATE October 2021: Still won't pair with my SR/F. Still requires full time location access for some inexplicable reason and I'm still going to wager gross incompetence here rather than maleficence. I expect teething issues, but when I pay $20000 for a motorcycle and there are still these types of issues 2 years and a whole new model (SR/S) later, it's outright unacceptable, especially when the app is *required* to access features such as tuning custom ride modes.

Was great at first but started failing to open unless you grant location permission all the time (it should be fine with just when the app is in use, or even never). Also no longer get charging-complete notifications.

Great app so far, leagues better then the previous app and has so many new and nice features I cannot wait to try out on my SR/F! Shows google map's new EV Charging Station feature, can track routes, set charging alarms and perimeters, and much more!

Can not connected to my $20k bike via Bluetooth, used both Android 7.1 and 8.0. Brought the issue up to Zero, they admit they have issues connecting to older Android phones. Can confirm it works with Android 9.

This app has few features, and not a *single one* works properly. I don't understand. I've had the SR/S for two weeks, and compared to that wonderful piece of hardware, this is just... worrying.

Just not good. The remote connect does nothing, just sits saying trying to connect for as long as you let it. Switching into, and out of storage mode is glitchy at best, seems you have to key cycle the bike at least. Why not tech stats? Why do you treat your buyers like children who must never know anything about the technical side of things, like what's the 12v system voltage, what is the 12v Soc? Is the 12v sys charging, healthy, unhealthy? A clear and simple "cold storage" mode would be nice

The app was working until early October, it keeps crashing upon opening. The 10/13 update still hasn't fixed this issue. (Device: Sony X1, android 10) Checked again in 10/23 and still keep crashing upon opening.

Took about 20 attempts over the course of a month to update bike's firmware. It's an awful buggy app. Somebody at Zero loves canyon mode because it keeps reappearing.

Has it's problems at times. Some features like movement notification , disapears from one log on to another. Updated both phone and tablet app , yet version numbers show as being different.

Needs metric conversion option in setup.. it's ok for people using imperial measurements but not for us metric users.. Miles and kilometres Farenheit and celcius Also add a region setting or integrate google maps into app so live locations can be implemented.

For the new buyers, don't buy a Zero, till Zero loosens a bit. I will sell mine as well. Some decision maker at Zero should be fired. Clients are treated as shhh. This app is a joke. Simple example, we could see where our bikes were parked, now the option is removed. Additionally, these bikes have options locked. Now after 2 years they want to unlock it for additional cost. Zero thinks that they are Mercedes or something. We pay 24000 euros and we want our stolen/locked 10% battery back for fre

Loss of bluetooth connectivity after a few days. Status update of the motorbike over cellular network only functions reasonably when the bike is charging, but even then with erroneous timestamp. When not charging the SoC reported is 0%, clearly incorrect

Very disappointed. Crashes all the time on my S20. Not able to create or edit ride modes, it just keeps crashing.
