Have played a lot of role-playing games in the scope of text and video games. Hosted Games definitely, basically the Telltale of text-based role-playing. Dude, well done. I thought part 1 & 2 had great pacing and world building elements that were far better than the first installment of Zombie Exodus (yes, I played it and loved it as well) but, man, part 3 though. I mean wow, plot twists, character development, harder decisions were amazing. Only hope that Part 4 doesn't take as long as 3 though
Part 3 is quite buggy at the moment, especially the relationship. It keep dropping everytime the chapters end, even though all task is completed. There's also quite a lot of bug in mission as well. Hopefully it gets fix, because the story is as always really engaging.
I really love this interactive narrative, it draws the readers attention and before you know it you're trapped in a daze for hours fighting Zombo's and survival. The one and the only thing that irritates me is the simple fact that you can not save, except for the end or start of a "Part". So, once I make incredible progress and get into it, I get up to go to the bathroom n' when I come back all those hours of reading are just gone. Does not matter what part of the story im on. PLEASE FIX.
While the overall experience in part 3 is decent there are some issues: like some improvements to the junkyard not completing, a certain character appearing out of thin air after she was taken in part two, spelling errors, and the morale system dropping for no real reason.
At last the awaited part 3 came I love this series but found some minor error in the script like when you shot Cruz in the head he should have died but kept on shooting even though I shot him in the face. Also when I press the restart the game will freeze. Hopefully part 4 will come soon.
The writing is just so phenomenal, the art and emotion and humor (at points) behind each page is astounding. The level of emotion and connection you can have with the Characters is amazing, For Example I really connected with Madison when she mentions life being a illusion or cliché/Lie. I cannot get enough and seriously wish this book would never end.
Very well written, long and great value for money. Unique for text based games in the sheer depth and breadth of options and interactions presented to the player in both members of your own group and dealing with other factions High replayability and entertainment factor, can play as anything from a chivalrous teenager who tries to save everyone to a psycho bank robber who fights everyone the come across and almost play 2 different games given the amount of variation and tone change
A well written series. That said, the app has a bug where some error notice pops up and the game couldn't continue. I hope it gets fixed.
Would give 5 stars if i wasn't forced to pay after 10 mins of reading. Zero point downloading this as you spend more time making you player than you do playing. Then it's a 6 buck charge for the next chapter only.
Jim Dattilo is a fantastic story teller whose voice always lures you in for multiple play throughs. Safe Haven is a beast with many faces that you'll always find your way back to -- whether it's due to the well-paced story, the endearing characters, the believable setting... I could go on. This COG has an absolutely insane level of detail and care put into it. Anyone who picks this up is in for a treat and truly a magnum opus of the Choice of Games collection in general.
This is the most incredible written chose your own path game I've ever come across and it's so worth the money!keep up the good work guys can't wait to see what's next!
I love the game but for some reason my game keeps resetting and the story starts over. Can you fix this?
I actually really enjoyed this game so far! I played through all of Zombie Exodus and loved it. The two main issues I can see is: Its too short and I know its still in development. My only other complaint is that I can't delete saves for characters I made. I have around 20 saves from just me being bored that I'll never go back too, but I can't just delete the saves unless I'm missing something. I know I can delete it and re-download it but I don't want to pay for the extra chapters again.
By far one of my favorite interactive stories top date and I've played it multiple times. Glad to say it's even an improvement over its predecessor. My only gripe is that updates for new parts take literal years and it's hard to keep playing with a character you've pretty much forgotten about. The author could definitely do well to have the bulk of the entire story finished before he starts publishing anything so that he has an easier time sticking to his milestones.
I absolutely loved playing this game, though the chapters were gone too fast. As of the time of me writing this, I've had 3 different play throughs, and I plan to continue making more characters. I can't wait for part 3, though if I can request something, could you make more interactions available? It felt like I had to choose between talking to the characters, or planning for my group's survival and fixing the camp. Still, I loved it, and I'm sure I'll love the next part.
Hi! love the game, can't wait for part 3 😁 but uh there seems to be a bug. every time I play directly to part 2 and restore my game (which features a teenager) in the uphill zombie battle I would only get to use my hands which is a shocker cuz I at least had the springfiled and arsenal when defending against the zombies on the field. please fix it, I don't want to play the part 1 all over again just because of this bug. thank you!!!
I get that we all need to make a living but do you really need to charge so much PER Part? I thought the £5 was for the full version but it was only for another part. I'm now being asked to pay £4 for the next. When the price is more reasonable I'll put 5 because the content is brilliant if overpriced per part. An issue when playing is you can go through a selection of answers but sometimes it will automatically change to the next scene when you have pressed your first response instead of final
It's really good. And while it follows a scripted storyline, the choices you make can subtly influence it (like saving a certain survivor who may help you in the future). However, the large number of skills may overwhelm a first-time player, since it is different from Zombie Exodus 1 (only five skills there). Still, it remains fun and challenging to play. Looking forward to part 3 ^^
I enjoyed this one more than the original. The stats system is thorough & after playing with it, it does seem relevant. But the story is VERY linear and there are several false choices that reroute you. I feel guilty criticizing the multiple paywalls, as SO much work goes into these and authors well deserve compensation. But presenting an unfinished product with little variation/replay value deserves some finger-wagging. $8 for 30-45 mins is...a lot. I've not seen other games do this.
This is a game with a lot of replay value. Well worth its price, though you'll need to pay an addition fee for part 2 and presumptuously another fee for whenever part 3 comes out. The fact that it was unexpectedly broken up like this and required additional cash made it lose a star for me. Still, this is a game of quality that I do not regret purchasing.
One of the best interactive fictions. Definitely an inspiration in my own story telling. For the negative reviews, you should follow on social media for updates etc.
Love the better than the original. I spent about a good 7 hours straight playing just a single story lol. I love how deep story is or can go. I only played once so far and I can only imagine the other choices I make when I play again could leave me. Good thing I was never hurt or died my first time lol. It's more detail, better choices and having to design your character is more in-depth than zombie Exodus. Love this a whole lot more.
Such an amazing, well-rounded interactive game. The characters are enjoyable, the plot interesting, and the writing always delivers. There're a lot of customizability and different ways to play that sometimes there are continuity errors, especially in Part 3. Nothing major, and the author continuously fixing that, so it's okay I guess. It's clear how much love JimD put into this game, because the amount of math alone, for the stats and items, must be insane! Thankyou for making this game JimD!
