This new version is great, finally works with streaming services like Google Play Music. My only problem is at the end of the run if I want to share my run map on FB or Twitter, the map shows up on the app's share screen, but it comes out blank (just a black square) on FB or Twitter. Fix that, and it's 5 stars from me.
It seems as though they've given up on improving/supporting this app. Syncing has to be done manually through their website, your only option is runkeeper, music player is still buggy and no new features or options. I really wanted to love this app but the company behind it is causing the app to fail by not fixing the issues present within the app. I won't purchase another app by this company..I'll stick with the bigger high reputation companies from now on. So much for small startups being more caring.
Loved it before, but the new version doesn't work well with Spotify. It pauses music but takes a good bit to hear what's being said so I'm missing out. Especially when I am doing e.g. run/walk repeats I don't hear anything, it just pauses. Would be better if it spoke over the music like before. I won't use it again unless it is fixed. Fix this though and you'd get my 5 stars
I like the update except it doesnt show everything I completed prior to the update. Also the new music pause during story is annoying and abrupt. The previous lower volume on music with the voiceover was much better and seemed smoother during a run.
Says that I need to update, but cannot. What is going on?
I was amazed how the week one workout was so easy going. I expected a bit more I guess. Also it did not work so well on the treadmill. It ended up saying I ran like 29km in 34min which is crazy since I was walking a lot of that. But outside the gps works great and the maps online are super neat to explore. Last thing is I wish it'd work with Google Play.
Ever time I have tried to load this it says "Unfortunately, Zombies 5k had stopped working" then it sends me back to the mission selection screen. It seems like a lot of Samsung Galaxy users have problems with this program not working. I contacted customer support but they couldn't fix the problem. I would NOT recommend this to Samsung users.
First off, this app is great for beginning runners. I noticed within the first week an increase in my stamina. The only issues are 1. for the app to sync to zombie link I have to log out and back in and 2. Unlike the main zombies run app, you can't use external music players such as google play music. Other than that it is a fantastic app.
I don't have good self-discipline, but I do have a good imagination. I'm inspired to run farther and faster when I can imagine myself as somebody else in a different situation. When I remember that I'm the same old person I've always been, running on the treadmill in the basement, I want to give up. But when I put myself in a storyline like this, I imagine myself as someone who can do better. Finishing a mission, that is a day's exercise session, gives me pride in myself and that inspires me to go on.
I really like the storyline and everything is done to a high level of quality. However... It is not the standard Couch to 5K program. It starts off, even on day 1, giving far too much "wiggle" room in the program and therefore does a poor job of building your endurance. The Free Form sections of the program are, I believe, were a mistaken departure from the proven Couch to 5K schedule.
The app has a good concept, and I think it would probably be a very good app... if I could actually hear the instructions. When music is playing it just plays over the voice instructions, and lowering the volume just lowers the volume of the voice too. It would be a good improvement if the music faded when the instructions were playing or if there was an option to pause the music. I will be looking forward for a fix to this as I have paid for an app that is pretty much unusable.
This is a great app but missing a crucial feature for those who don't store music on there phone. Needs internet radio integration. Will give 5 stars as soon as feature is added. running more enjoyable.always hated to run do instead I played soccer to get my running in.now I'm been running for 4 weeks straight.can't wait to get into zombie run.
It's a wonderful training app and fun story, but tries a Playlist called "quick list" that doesn't exist on my phone with no option to change and is incredibly slow to load. I suppose no music to run with then. Wish it was more like the first app.
I downloaded Media Monkey app and saved some music locally then created a separate playlist. It seems to be working, but there should still be a way use this app with a stream... The concept is great and has really motivated me to start running after years of being sedentary. I just finished week 3 and "ran" (walked/jogged) 7k.
I've been using this app for a while and it's fantastic for improving fitness and stuff like that. The only problem I'm having is that it won't let me sync to zombielink for some reason. I logged in and synced it a few months back, but I'm trying to sync it now and it just says 'synchronizing', but nothing happens. The 'log in' and 'sync now' buttons are greyed out. As are the email and password parts. Awesome app but i wish I could connect to zombielink :/
The idea is really awesome. This basically gives a storyline to your running, which motivates you to run. I'm trying to do a run everyday instead of what is recommended (3 per week) because I really want to continue on with the story. On the days that I am too sore and cannot run, I'm sad because I want to know what is next. Did not give five stars because the music is not compatible with Google play, and it was not easy to figure out how to get music to work.
The app is great and I enjoy it. 1)great motivation tool making exercise and running fun. 2)good story throughout 3) I only use spotify for music you have to pause every time the person speaks so you dont miss the message. 4) it wont link the app up to myzombie run account keeps telling me to check my password even though I know its what I have been using to log into zombie run.
I have to admit I hated cardio. There was no fun for me in just running around being uncomfortable so I got fat and lazy and wouldn't run. But this app keeps me engaged, and motivated even on the days I would rather just sleep in. Its perfectly paced to go from never running ever, to running for miles without stopping, and making doing so fun.
Great app but always remember to log in before you start a run or you won't be able to sync that run and complete your board. Edit: Just finished the final week on to season 1. Just one note a mono button would be great so you could keep one ear open. If I take one ear bud out I end up missing story or prompts.
Just finished my first day of week 3. Love the app and I am finally starting to enjoy jogging/running. I was already in decent shape, just not a good runner. This is helping tremendously. I am only giving it 3 stars at the moment because I can not get all of my runs to sync on zombielink. Therefore I am giving it an average rating. If I can fix the problem, I will rate it 5 stars. Thanks for creating this app.
No integration with Google play music which is not mentioned until you buy the app, even though the other zombies run game sports it. Win amp is recommended but it appears to have been discontinued and pulled from Google play store in 2014. Looks like sixtostart are more than happy to take money for this while concentrating all efforts on their new subscription based game.
I only give four stars cause its still a little buggy. Sometimes Doc says i have thirty seconds left to run and it turns out to be three minutes. I trusted you Doc! Other then that its a good story, you care about the characters. Its the first time in my life I've enjoyed running, and I've lost thirty pounds so far.
Great App......the only thing that's actually got me out running for 15 years !!!! Seamless links with Spotify too ........winner
